Split Card Die & DSP

Mom & I created this card for Garner from one we saw online! Clean & Simple with TONS of  possibilities!!  This one uses Soft Succulent and the new Fern 3D embossing folder with the Split Card DIes.  I love the effect!!  Behind the openings I used the recently retired Flowering Fields DSP. (brighter is better here).  So, grab these dies, and your left over DSP and start creating!

Measurements:

  • Soft Succulent: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 4" X 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 4" X 5 1/4" (inside)
  • Flowering Fields DSP (ret): 3" x 5 1/4", 1/2" x 5 1/4" strip (inside)
  • Pale Papaya: scrap
  • Mango Melody: 2" square
To Make This Card:

  • Cut Split Die of your choice from Soft Succulent layer.
  • Next, run through new, Fern 3D embossing folder.
  • Use Multipurpose Glue on the back of the opening area, and attach DSP over openings.  Note: You do NOT need a full piece of DSP behind the entire piece!
  • Attach this to folded Soft Succulent card.
  • Add white piece to inside, along with the decorative strip of DSP.
  • Cut Pale Papaya circle.  Stamp sentiment in Memento Black in center and mount onto Scalloped Circle of Mango Melody. Attach to card, as shown.
  • Finish with knot of Pale Papaya ribbon and new, Incolor Opal Round
