Picture This Meets Flowers of Friendship

I think I'm back on track!  If not, Mom is coming today, and she'll crack the whip!!  Or, at least we'll get some cool samples done! This card was inspired by a sample I saw made by Julie Davison!  It uses the stand-alone die - Picture This - along with the new Flowers of Friendship bundle. She also has another version that I want to try, so stay tuned!!  I DO love these dies!  Be sure to check them out!

Measurements:  

• Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 4 7/8" x 3 3/4"
• Hand-Penned DSP (N): 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
• Pale Papaya (N): scraps
• Soft Succulent (N): scraps

To Make This Card

• Attach DSP to folded White card.  This sample goes to all edges (something I don't do very often, but gave it a try!)
• Cut rectangle Picture Die from Basic White layer, making sure the cut edges are straight with the bottom of the piece of White. Attach to DSP.
• Stamp 1 large, and 2 small "flowers" in Papaya ink onto scrap of Papaya.  Punch out with punch.  Stamp 4 small and 2 large "leaves" in Soft Succulent ink onto scrap of Soft Succulent and punch out.
• Using Stamparatus, stamp sentiment in center of one "window" with Basic Gray ink.
• Attach "flowers" as shown with Dimensionals.  Add leaves, flat, with Mini Glue Dots.
• Finish with Pale Papaya InColor Jewels and a Pale Papaya bow.

Double Card Fold

This is a beautifully, interesting card fold, that has no name, so I call it a Double Card fold, as it is actually 2 cards, cut lengthwise, that criss-cross for the base! Each layer has an interesting die cut feature.  Come learn how to make this in class this week!

Measurements:   

• THICK Basic White: 4 1/4" x 11" (base)
• Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5" (inside)
• Magenta Madness: 4" x 10 1/2"
• Gold Foil: 4 1/4" x 4 1/2"
• Expressions in Ink DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (front), 3 3/4" x 5" inside, strip

To Make This Card:

• Fold Thick Basic White in half.  Attach front DSP to card around outside edges only.
• Cut desired die from front, through both layers. Be sure to lay die, so that it is not too close to the cut edge. This may take more than one pass. Set this cut die aside to be used later on card inside.
• Now, cut focal die from Gold Foil. Set aside, too.
• Fold Magenta base in half. Criss cross as shown, making one LONG card.
• Fold up Magenta card.  Attach inside DSP .  Close top of card.  Adhere Gold die through opening, and to base below.  I'd use Green Glue, or cut from an adhesive sheet!
• Now open Magenta flap, and fold down front of card.  Attach this DSP die cut directly to Magneta card base.
• Add trimmed White piece to other side of Magenta.  Stamp sentiment and add scrap of DSP. Flip, flap this to finished position.
• Finish with Gold Gilded Gems

Hand Penned Zigzag Gatefold

This interesting fold uses a 1/2 sheet of DSP!!  So, grab up your extra paper, and give it a try!! The results are very appealing!!

Measurements:   

• Hand Penned DSP (N): 5 1/2" x 12"
• Basic White: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", 2 3/4" square, scrap

To Make This Card:

• Score at 2" - 4" - 8" - 10".  Make "accordion" folds. Crease well.
• Make a pencil mark 2" from bottom along 5 1/2" side. Cut with trimmer from first score line to pencil mark on either side.
• Now, cut from 2nd score line to the pencil mark.  
• Stamp floral image of your choice in Memento Black onto scrap of white. Color with Blends as shown.  Cut out with corresponding die.
• For inside of card, you can either cut a square of cardstock and adhere inside card, on point, or you can completely add layers to the inside.
• To strengthen the back of card, attach a quarter piece of Basic White cardstock.
• I finished with a bow in Highland Heather, and Opal Rounds.

Expressions in Ink Arrow Fold

I've been wanting to try this Fun Fold for some time, now, and now it's everywhere!!  So, here is my first attempt using the gorgeous Expressions in Ink DSP!!  The touch of gold in this paper is just breathtaking! This Fun Fold is so doable!  Give it a try!! We'll be doing this in class this week!

Measurements:  

• Magenta Madness: 1/2 sheet
• Expressions in Ink DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
• Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4", scrap
• Gold Foil: 2 1/2" square

To Make This Card

• Fold Magenta piece in half.  Open flat and score front flap using template above.
• Crease well with bone folder following "valley" and "mountain" fold chart above.
• Attach Vanilla piece to inside. 
• Take DSP piece.  Cut from upper corner to center long edge, creating 2 "V"s. Attach to card as shown.
• Decorate front, as desired. (I didn't want to cover up too much of this awesome paper!).
• If desired, attach folds to each other with Tear & Tape
