Holographic Dimensional Snowflakes

I just recently purchased the Joyful Flurry Bundle.  After Christmas, and before Valentine's Day, I do winter and snowflake/snowman cards! The dimensional snowflakes are just awesome for this purpose!! For this one I also utilized the retiring Snowflake Specialty Vellum and circle dies from the Stylish Shapes  Such a clean & simple card!

Measurements:

  • Highland Heather: 1/2 sheet
  • Snowflake Specialty Vellum (N)(retiring): 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Thick Basic White: 3" square, 2 1/2" square, 2" square, scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Highland Heather card base in half. Set aside.
  • Cut 3 graduating circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • Cut "dimensional snowflakes" into the largest and smallest circles, leaving the middle circle for the sentiment.
  • Lift the dimensional pieces from the die cut snowflakes. The best way to do this is to use the pokey tool from Take Your Pick.
  • Cut two smaller, individual snowflakes.
  • Stamp desired sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink onto middle-sized circle.
  • Arrange circles in desired arrangement onto Vellum, and attach to vellum. I popped up the smallest circle.
  • Next, flip over the vellum piece and place adhesive behind the circles. Attach to folded card base.
  • Add individual snowflakes where desired.
  • Finish with Iridescent Rhinestones and White Glitter bow.

  • InColor Glimmer Paper: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Basic White: 3 5/8" x 4 7/8", 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scrap
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Starry Sky card base in half.
  • Stamp "church" in Starry Sky ink onto piece of White, leaving an even border along top and both sides. Attach to folded card.
  • Attach Foam Adhesive Strips along outside edge of White piece.
  • Center "snowflake frame" die in center of glimmer paper and cut out. Attach to card over Adhesive Strips.

Sweet Candy Cane Pop Up Block Card

I found this interesting fold shared by Lisa Curcio and wanted to try it. She has quite a few options using this fold over on her website.  Too much fun!  I decided to try the one with the Sweet Candy Cane Bundle, and love how it turned out!

Measurements:

  • Real Red: 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" (base), 3 1/4" x 5" (block 1), 2 1/2" x 4" (block 2),  1 1/2" x 3" (block 3)
  • Sweetest Christmas DSP (N): STRIPE - 4" x 5 1/4" (base layer),
  • Sweetest Christmas DSP (N): DOTS -  1 3/4" x 4" (card front), 1 1/4" x 3" (block 1), 1 1/4" x 2 1/4" (block 2), 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" (block 3)
  • Sweetest Christmas DSP (N): 2 die cut Candy Canes
  • Basic White: 1 7/8" x 4 1/8" (card front), 1 3/8" x 3 1/8" (block 1), 1 3/8" x 2 3/8" (block 2), 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" (block 3), 4" x 5 1/4" (back of card base for msg)
To Make This Card:

  • Score Real Red base at 2" x 4". Crease well, making an "accordion" fold.
  • Attach stripe DSP to base.
  • Then, I began by attaching all DSP pieces to corresponding White bases.
  • Find the longest layers and attach to front of "accordion" fold.
  • Next, we'll begin the Pop Up part with the first (next largest) block. Score at 1 1/2" - 3" - 4 1/2". Crease well creating a partial "square".
  • Place Tear n Tape onto first 1 1/2" section and last 1/2" section.
  • Adhere corresponding DSP/White piece to second section from the left.
  • Remove backing from left side. Place cut edge along score line of base. Close card over Tear Tape.
  • Open up card. Remove Tear Tape from 1/2" side.  Tuck under and adhere to back of card.
  • Now, try the card, to make sure it "pops up".
  • For Block #2, score at 1" - 2 1/2" - 3 1/2". Then, continue to add to card as above.
  • For Block #3, scor at 1/2" - 2" - 2 1/2". Then, continue to add to card as above.
  • Voila, the "pop ups" are finished! Now, to decorate.
  • For this sample, I die cut 2 matching "Candy Canes" in both directions.  I adhered the bottom one directly to the front of card, and the "crossed" one to the front with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with a bow.  You can also scatter some Rhinestones or sequines, if desired.
  • You can add an optional White piece to the back of card for your greeting or sentiment - and signature!

Scrap Paper Snowflake Cards

This layout I originally saw on one of Sharon Armstrong's Mystery Stamping videos. She calls is a Scrap Paper layout, that can be used in so many ways.  On these 2 cards that I made before I left for Vienna, utilizes the soon to be retired Christmas Lights stamp set, and the already discontinued Lights Aglow DSP. The neat thing with this layout, is ANY paper scraps can be used.  Find a focal point, and go!

Measurements:

  • Evening Evergreen (Very Vanilla): 1/2 sheet
  • Soft Succulent (Cherry Cobbler): 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White (Very Vanilla): 3 3/4" x 5", 3 1/4" square (snowflake)
  • (Gold Foil): 3 1/4" square (snowflake)
  • Lights Aglow (ret): 2-3 colors of 1/2" strips
To Make This Card: (Directions for Cherry Cobbler version in parenthesis)

  • Attach Soft Succulent (Cherry Cobbler) and Basic White (Very Vanilla) layers to folded Evening Evergreen (Very Vanilla) card.
  • On the "green" version, I laid the 3 strips right onto the edges of the Basic White layer.  I did the bottom strips first, and the side strips second.
  • On the "red" version, I used only 2 strips and laid the bottom piece 1/8" from bottom, then the same piece 1/8" from the side, then added the next piece to the bottom, sort of "weaving" the layers.
  • I placed my "snowflakes" onto the crossed pieces, but you could also exposed the crossed pieces and put your image on the open areas.
  • The "green" snowflake is stamped in Evening Evergreen, die cut with coordinating die and attached to the card front with a Dimensional.
  • The "gold" snowflake is just die cut with the snowflake die and also attached to the card front with a Dimensional.
  • To finish the cards, stamp sentiment of your choice in Evening Evergreen (Cherry Cobbler).
  • Finish embellishing with Festive Pearls in Gold, or (Festive Pearls) in Red.
