Dainty Flowers Border Card

The Dainty Flowers DSP in the SAB catalog is just gorgeous, and can easily stand alone! One of the sheets include some beautiful floral ovals and borders.  I had seen MANY awesome cards using the oval, but not many using the border, so Mom and I created this one! It uses part of the border along with another print from the DSP.  So simple, and yet so gorgeous!  The DSP is available for FREE, while supplies last, with a qualifying purchase, until the end of February.

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 3 3/4" x 4 1/2", scrap
  • Dainty Flowers DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 1 1/8" x 3 1/2" (pink), 1 7/8" x 3 1/2" (border)
  • Blushing Bride: 4" x 4 3/4", scrap
To Make This Card:

  • Adhere the 3 panels of DSP to piece of White as shown.
  • Then, attach this piece to the Blushing Bride layer, and then the folded White card.
  • Stamp sentiment in Blushing Bride ink onto scrap of White.  Die cut with smaller die. (I used the retired Stitched So Sweetly Dies).
  • Attach to a same die cut from Blushing Bride cardstock. Stagger these dies and attach to card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with scattered Champagne Rhinestones.

Here is another card that I did at Assisted Living on Monday.  They loved it!  Once again, this uses SOME retired products, but it also uses a NEW "heart oval" from the Framed Florets Dies! I"m sure that you can find something in your "stash" to use with this awesome frame!! (I hope you already have them...they are on back order until March 27th)

Valentine Joy Fold (retired products)

I hesitate to post some of my cards that we have done in my Senior Facility, because I frequently use up retired items! But, I also have to keep in mind that there are also other benefits to seeing them, i.e. design elements and using themed items that you DO have! This is one of those cards!  It utilizes a super easy fold - the Joy Fold, along with coordinating Valentine's items, all Stampin' Up! and all retired!!  So I hope that you enjoy this design and can make it "yours"!

Blue Valentine Gnome

Who would have thought of a blue valentine!  Well, Stampin' Up! did!!  I used their cue from the blue hearts in the new Country Floral DSP, and created this card for my class at Garner! They loved it! I paired the little gnome holding the heart from the new Friendly Gnomes stamp set, with the little heart oval from the Framed Florets and the lovely Balmy Blue heart paper from the Country Floral DSP!  Add a little coordinated Blends, and you have a quick, darling card!

Measurements:

  • Balmy Blue: 1/2 sheet
  • Country Floral DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 3" x 3 3/4"
To Make This Card:

  • Die Cut "tiny heart" Oval from DSP.(this die does not cut out the center). Before cutting, add the Oval die with the "ridges" to the center of the "tiny heart" die, and cut both together from the DSP.  Discard the center pieces. (or save for another project).
  • Attach this piece to folded Balmy Blue card.
  • Cut another Oval with "ridges" from White piece.  Set the White "frame" aside, and stamp "gnome" in Memento Black ink onto the smooth center of Oval.
  • Color with Blends as shown.  Note: I opted to color the heart in Mint Macaron to coordinate with the DSP creating a very coordinated look. My students at Garner really wanted their heart red!!
  • Attach this oval to the center of card.
  • Stamp sentiment from Friendly Gnomes stamp set in Memento Black on inside of card, directly to the blue card.
  • FInish with scattered Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins and a knot of Mint Macaron Ribbon.

Playing in the Rain Turtle Book Binding Card

Love, love, love this DSP!  There are touches of shiny pearl ink on one side of the paper! Along with a variety of critters that can be die cut or fussy cut out of the paper!!  And, the "rainy" DSP, and delicate little daisy flowers to coordinate with the fields of daisy paper.  Too much fun!!

Measurements:

  • Old Olive: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Rain or Shine (N): 4" square (print), 1" x 4" (mango check), die cut "turtle"
  • Basic White: 4" square (inside), scraps (sentiment)
  • Mango Melody: 1/2" x 4"

  • Attach this 1 1/4" to card with Tear Tape.
  • Attach Daisy Field DSP to front and 1" DSP to "binding". Note: I cut the DSP into 4" strips, going ACROSS the pattern.  I cut my "square" from the center strip.  The other 2 strips are all daisies, or all clouds.
  • Die cut "turtle" from DSP using coordinating die.
  • Stamp sentiment in Memento Black onto scrap of White.  Cut out with Stitched Circle from Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • Add a little color to this shape with our new, smaller Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink.
  • Angle cut the Mango Melody strip at both ends as shown.  Attach to card front, where desired.
  • Add "turtle" to card with Dimensionals.
  • Add sentiment to card, flat.
  • Wrap a narrow Olive ribbon around "binding". Tie in a knot.
  • Finish with 3 adorable, dimensional daisies on the sentiment circle!
