Earthen Textures Double Decker Pop Up Card

I am just loving the Earthen Textures Bundle!  And, since I am teaching the Double Decker Pop Up Card in club this weekend, I wanted to make a sample using my favorite bundle!  I paired it up with the Earthen Elegance DSP and 2 of our new colors - Copper Clay and Pretty Peacock.

Measurements:

  • Copper Clay (N): 1/2 sheet, 3" x 4"
  • Very Vanilla: 2 1/4" x 3" (pop up), 3" x 4 1/2" (bottom panel), 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" (top panel), scrap
  • Earthen Elegance DSP (N): 5 7/8" x 5 1/4 (cut into 1 pc 1 7/8", left with 4" layer)
To Make This Card:
  • Fold the Copper Clay base in half.  Then, fold the card front back on itself, creating a "Z" fold.
  • Attach larger DSP to back panel and the smaller piece to the front panel.
  • Next, we'll create the pop up mechanism. Score along the 3" side at 3/4"-1 1/2"-2 1/4". Crease well along all score lines creating a "box".
  • Now, flatten that "box" so that the 2 cut edges meet. Place Tear n Tape along the FOLDS (or the entire 3/4" piece if you prefer). Make sure the cut edges do not overlap each other, or prevent the back fold from creasing.
  • Next, place the "box" tape side down on the "inside" of the card (so half will be on top of the DSP), so that the cut edges arenalong the crease of the card. This is best done with the card laying flat/open. Adhere the Tear n Tape down well. (I got in there with my bone folder.
  • Now, to create the next panel.  Stamp the sentiment of your choice in Copper Clay ink onto scrap of Vanilla. Die cut with strip from Something Fancy Dies.
  • Lay onto panel where desired to determine where to stamp the pot.  Stamp the "pot" in Pretty Peacock ink. Wait to add the label until the card is assembled. (so label doesn't show!)
  • Place Tear n Tape on the "top" of the "box".  Line the cut edge of this panel even with the "Z" panel and centered on the card. Carefully press onto adhesive.
  • Now for the top panel. Attach the last Vanilla layer to the Copper Clay piece. Stamp sentiment in Copper Clay ink turning sideways as shown.
  • Next, stamp the "pot", again, in Pretty Peacock ink. Place a "mask" over the top edge, and stamp the "weed tops" in Copper Clay ink.
  • Attach half of the panel to the "Z" front, so! that there is an even border showing from the bottom panel.
  • NOW, you can add the sentiment with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, so the label doesn't show.
  • Finish with scattered Peacock Rhinestones (ret)

Fancy Gold & Vanilla Darling Details

I needed another card for my July Card Club using the Darling Details bundle.  I had one card using the gorgeous eyelet frames and stamped images, but I wanted another one using the beautiful eyelet border with the woven ribbon! Sue Campfield to the rescue, again. She did a version of this one that I thought would be perfect for so many occasions! Enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Thick Very Vanilla: 1/2 sheet,
  • Very Vanilla: 7/8" x 5 1/2", 2" x 3 3/4"
  • Gold Foil: 2" x 3 3/4", 2 1/4" square
To Make This Card:
  • Fold the Thick Vanilla base in half.
  • Die cut the "eyelet border" from the Vanilla strip by placing the scallop edge near the bottom of the piece.
  • Now, thread the ribbon through the slits in the die cut.  I attached both ends of the ribbon to the cardstock with a Mini Glue Dot. Then, attach this strip to the card, as shown.
  • Die cut the floral piece from the Darling Details Dies in Gold Foil. Add to card front as well.
  • Die cut sentiment of your choice from Gold Foil. I cut mine from the Sending Smiles dies, but I would have liked to have used our new Wanted to Say Dies, which I don't currently have, but will rectify that shortly! Attach to card front where desired.
  • Add Iridescent Pastel Gems to flowers, and then scatter some above the eyelet border.  I also added the Gold Festive Pearls to the "flowers" made in the eyelet border.  I love this!!

Darling Details Double Decker Pop Up Card

I absolutely LOVE the frames in the Darling Details dies.  They are just gorgeous! So, I was delighted when my Stampin' Club hostess chose this bundle for July club! To be honest, I originally just got the dies, but the stamps are so awesome, I went back and got them, too.  This sample, also by Sue Campfield, uses both frames and the stamped flowers.  Please note the dimensions for the panels for this card are a little larger than the Timeless Arrangements one, to accommodate the frames.

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 2 1/4" x 3" (pop up), 2 5/8" x 3 7/8" (bottom panel frame),2 7/8" x 4 1/8" (bottom panel base) 3 3/4" x 4 7/8" (top panel frame), 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" (top panel base) scraps
  • Delightfully Eclectic DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
To Make This Card:
  • Fold the White base in half.  Then, fold the card front back on itself, creating a "Z" fold.
  • Attach desired DSP to back panel.
  • Next, place the "box" tape side down on the "inside" of the card (so half will be on top of the DSP), so that the cut edges are along the crease of the card. This is best done with the card laying flat/open. Adhere the Tear n Tape down well. (I got in there with my bone folder.
  • Now, to create the next panel.  Die cut the smaller "eyelet frame" from the smaller piece. Adhere to the smaller base. Stamp the sentiment of your choice in Berry Burst ink.
  • Place Tear n Tape on the "top" of the "box".  Line the cut edge of this panel even with the embossed panel and centered on the card. Carefully press onto adhesive.
  • Now for the top panel. Die cut the larger "eyelet frame" from the smaller top piece. Adhere to the top base.Set aside.
  • On scraps of White - stamp the larger "flower" in Bubble Bath ink, stamp "details" in Berry Burst. Stamp the "half flower" in stamped off Berry Burst ink and stamp "details" on top with full-strength Berry Burst. Stamp the "leaves" in stamped off Old Olive ink. Add leaf "outline" and "details" in full-strength Old Olive ink.
  • Die cut all stamped images with corresponding dies.
  • Attach leaves to card front, first. Then, add larger flower to card front with Dimensionals as shown. Then tuck the "half flower" under the larger flower, and adhere, flat, to the card front.
  • Lastly, attach 1/2 of front panel to folded back panel. You want to line it up so that a little bit of the back DSP shows.
  • Finish with sentiment stamped above images in Berry Burst ink, and a few scattered Brass Butterflies.
