Penguin Flip Flap Card

Here is another Flip Flap Fold original!  I used a previous card (actually an Explosion Card) and made it into a different fold!!  Why reinvent the wheel, right! I LOVE placing my little penguin on a "Wobble" for a little "action"!

Measurements:

  • Fresh Freesia: FULL sheet
  • Basic White: 2 3/4" x 4", scraps
  • Penguin Playmates SAB (ret): 3 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4".  2 - "snowflakes", 1 Fresh Freesia print

To Make This Card
  • Take full sheet of cardstock and fold in half, crease well. Open up and fold in half the other way, crease well. (Or, score at 4 1/4" and turn and then 5 1/2".) Use Paper Trimmer and trim away lower left quarter.
  • Now refold, as shown. (This version has a different orientation!  But it works!)
  • Attach Freesia print DSP to front around outside edges. Cut Scallop Contour Rectangle from the front. (Watch the orientation!!) Remove DSP center and keep this to use later.
  • Cut this same Scallop Contour Rectangle from piece of Basic White.  Then, run it throught the "Snowflake" Wintry 3D mini Embossing Folder.
  • Open up front flap.  Attach one "snowflake" DSP piece. Close front and insert Embossed White piece through the opening, attaching to opposite side.
  • Stamp penguin as shown.  Punch out with coordination punch!
  • You will need to stamp and "fussy cut" the "hat" and "scarf".
  • I added this little guy to the White label with a "Wobble". (which you can get on Amazon and some stamp stores).
  • Now, open the card up all the way. Place the last "snowflake" piece on the left, and the removed print scalloped rectangle through the opening.
  • I added a trimmed message on top of the label, and pearlized snowflakes on the other side.
  • Finish with a Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon bow.
  • Note: I didn't leave anywhere to add a message.  So, I would probably remove one snowflake and add a small piece of white or Fresh Freesia to the left side to write on!

Doily Flip Flap Card + Video

Enjoy this original card made using a "Flip, Flap" fold that Patty Bennett shared. She made one with Sara and Shelli at the home office, and I took pictures and figured it out! This card uses the soon-to-be released Eden's Garden bundle and Encircled in Beauty dies. Enjoy!!

Measurements:

  • Soft Succulent: FULL sheet
  • Ever Eden DSP (N): 4 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" - 2 pcs with foil details, 1 pc without foil, 1 pc  ombre
  • Gold Foil: 3 7/8" square (doily), 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (detailed rectangle), 7/8" x 6" (border)
  • Basic White: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (2 scalloped contour rectangles), 2 3/4" square  (scalloped circle), 2" square (small doily), scraps (sprigs)
To Make This Card:

  • Take full sheet of cardstock and fold in half, crease well. Open up and fold in half the other way, crease well. (Or, score at 4 1/4" and turn and then 5 1/2".) Use Paper Trimmer and trim away lower left quarter.
  • Now refold, as shown.
  • Attach one "foil" dsp to front around outside edges. Cut circle from center.  Remove DSP and keep Soft Succulent circle to reinsert later.
  • Cut medium "doily" from 3 7/8" Gold Foil square. Attach around circle opening.
  • Open up card and attach non-foil DSP.
  • Cut scallop circle using the one that is about 1/8" larger than the circle you just cut out.  Attach the Soft Succulent circle you just removed. Close front flap, and line up this removed circle behind opening. Attach to inside card.
  • Emboss sentiment in Gold Embossing Folder onto 2" square.  Then center and cut out smaller "doily" from the Encircled in Beauty Dies.
  • Now, cut 4 "sprigs" , in White, from the new Eden Dies (avail Nov 2).
  • Place the "doily" through the center, popping it up on Dimensionals. And attach the 4 "sprigs" in the corners.
  • Now, flip the other piece down. Add one DSP piece to the top, and one to the bottom flap.
  • I cut 1 gold "border", 2 "sprigs", and 1 large rectangle from the Eden Dies.  Arrange onto the card where desired.
  • I also cut the 2 smaller scalloped rectangles from the Scalloped Contour Dies. Embossing a sentiment on the smaller one.
  • Embellish with Genial Gems and/or Gilded Gems.
  • Note:  This card is realistically 4 cards in one!  Take any of them and make it into a single card!!
  • Also, I think this would make an awesome "mini" album with just a few pictures!

Flip, Flap Card + Video

I saw this card in passing on Patty Bennett's website.  She made it in Utah with Sara and Shelli while celebrating her 2 million sales. So, I set to figuring it out! I really like how it turned out. We will be doing this card in this month's Fun Fold Card Class!

Measurements:

  • Garden Green: FULL sheet
  • Basic White: 3 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4", 1 3/4" x 3"
  • Peaceful Prints (ret):2 1/4" x 3 3/4"
To Make this Card:

  • Take full sheet of cardstock and fold in half, crease well. Open up and fold in half the other way, crease well. Take scissors and remove the lower left quarter.
  • Now refold, as shown.
  • Cut "detail" pine bough from the quarter sheet you just removed.  Attach to front of card, making sure the center is adhered well. To do this, I used Multipurpose Glue on our Silicone Craft Sheet and applied with a Sponge Dauber.
  • Cut out center of front of card with largest die.  Toss this piece.  Adhere any loose "branches".
  • Stamp 3 quarter sheets in 2 opposite corners. I started with "pine boughs" in Garden Green, then the other branch in Pear Pizzazz, and finishing with Real Red "berries".
  • Attach these pieces to flaps as shown.
  • Cut DSP from same large die you used for the front. Close card and adhere to inside through opening in front of card.
  • Stamp message in Real Red onto scrap of White. Cut out with smaller die. Attach this piece over DSP with Dimensionals.
  • Open card and stamp sentiment in Real Red.  Add whatever you wish to the other flap.
  • Finish the front with Gold Leaves, Red Rhinestones, and Red bow.
