Shaded Merriest Tree

I have had the Merriest Trees Bundle for some time, and have just not had time to play with it! I saw this sample combining the foil DSP from the All About Autumn pack with the tree from the bundle. It was so much fun to "decorate", too! You really need to see this one in person.

Measurements:

  • Moody Mauve (N): 1/2 sheet (card base), 1/2 sheet (tree)
  • All About Autumn DSP (ret): 4" x 5 1/4", 1/2" x 4" strip (inside)
  • Very Vanilla: 2" x 5 1/4", 4" x 5 1/4",3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Pecan Pie: scrap
  • Gold Adhesive Glitter paper: 1 1/4" x 3"
  • More Dazzle Specialty Paper (AC): scrap
To Make This Card:

  • Attach DSP to folded Moody Mauve card.
  • Run 2" Very Vanilla strip through Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Attach to center of card front.
  • Die cut the 5 pieces of the "tree".
  • Take a Blending Brush and Moody Mauve ink and add color to the edges of all 5 pieces.
  • Curve the lower edge of all 5 pieces upward with a bone folder.
  • Assemble the four, smaller pieces of the tree on top of the largest "tree". I did use Multipupose Glue for this.
  • Cut the "garland" from the Glitter paper. THis is so neat!  All 5 pieces cut at once!
  • Attach to each section of tree where desired.
  • Also, die cut one "star" either from the More Dazzle Specialty paper, or the Glitter paper.
  • Stamp "trunk" in Pecan Pie ink onto Pecan Pie scrap.  Cut out with corresponding die.
  • Stamp and emboss sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder.  I added this to the bottom of the card, first, and then fit the tree in the space above.  The "star" was the last piece I added!
  • Lastly, finish the inside.  I also stamped the cluster of ornaments in Moody Mauve ink in the upper corner.
  • NOTE: The Pretty Peacock piece is made the same, only it uses the Pretty Peacock foil paper, also from the All About Autumn DSP.

Stars at Night Clean and Simple Card

I was looking for an idea using the "star burst" die from the Stars at Night bundle.  I saw this card and decided to give it a try! It looks lovely cut from the "Milky Way" DSP from the O Holy Night DSP. I paired it with some silver glitter paper, and it truly does look like the Milky Way!  You really have it see this one in person! It glitters and shines!

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" (sentiment)
  • O Holy Night DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Silver Glitter: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Die cut "star burst" from upper, center of DSP piece.
  • Attach this to folded White base.
  • Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy, onto smaller piece.  Die cut with coordinating die.  Attach to card with Dimensionals.
  • Die cut 1 large star, 2 long stars, and 2 square stars from Silver Glitter paper.
  • Adhere the largest star to the center of the "star burst". Scatter the rest of the stars in a pleasing manner.
  • Finish with new, faceted gem in the center of the largest star.

Spotlight Little Deer

Here is another "spotlighting" card using the other "scenic" DSP - One Horse Open Sleigh!  For this one, I used the new Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder, and cut out the darling deer with the Radiating Dies in the Online Exclusives Store! Added a few new copper snowflakes, and a few older iridescent ones.  Quick...and cute!

Measurements:

  • Early Espresso: 1/2 sheet, 3" x 4 1/4"
  • One Horse Open Sleigh DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4 (deer)
To Make This Card:

  • Die cut the Radiant Stitched rectangle from front piece of DSP. Set aside.
  • Next, emboss this piece of DSP with the rectangle removed.  I used the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder from the current Mini Catalog.
  • Attach this DSP piece to folded Early Espresso card.
  • Now, attach smooth, Radiant Stitched DSP piece to Early Espresso layer.
  • Add this piece to card front with Dimensionals, lining up image as best you can.
  • Finish with new, Copper Snowflakes (Online Exclusive Store) and some retired, scattered iridescent snowflakes.

Wintery Irresistible Blooms Window

I thought that this sample was an interesting design using the dies from the lrresistible Blooms Bundle in the Online Store. It uses the scenic A-Frame from the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP in the "window" of the die circle.  The "trees" are "fussy cut" from the DSP and placed on the top layer with the die cut opening.  Add a sponged color and a few scattered snowflakes and you're done!

Measurements:

  • Pool Party: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • One Horse Open Sleigh DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4 (A-Frame)
To Make This Card:

  • Die cut Irresistible "circle" die from the front of the White Layer.
  • Burnish Pool Party ink with Blending Brush onto outside edges of this layer. (You may decide to add more later one the trees are adhered.)
  • Fussy cut around trees from the right side of the DSP.  Set aside.
  • Center the focal point of the DSP behind the circle opening and adhere to the wrong side of the White piece.
  • Next, attach the "fussy cut" trees to the right side of the White layer, trimming to fit around outside edges as necessary.
  • Add additional Pool Party sponged color, if desired, at this time.
  • Now, attach this piece to the folded Pool Party card.
  • Finish with a few Snowflakes on the dots, followed by scattered Irridescent Dots.

Horse & Sleigh Barn Door Fold

I love the simplicity of this design using a simple fold that I frequently forget about! I call it a "Barn Door" fold, as opens like a hinged barn door! This uses a piece of the scenic One Horse Open Sleigh DSP, the Horse & Sleigh in the Online Exclusives, and a simple cut in the card base!

Measurements:

  • Misty Moonlight: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Basic White: 1 3/4" x 5 1/4", 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" (sleigh), scrap
  • One Horse Open Sleigh DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (trees)
  • Silver Foil: scrap
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Misty Moonlight base in half. Then, cut 2 1/8" from top of card. (You are actually cutting the front in half).  Cut to the fold with your trimmer, and then cut along the score line to the top of the card.
  • Next, cut 1 7/8" from BOTTOM of DSP.  Adhere this piece to front flap (barn door).
  • On the inside, adhere the White strip to the inside bottom of the card.
  • THEN, run the remaining DPS piece through the new Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and attach this  to the inside, top of the card base, overlapping the White piece.
  • Your card base is now done!
  • Now, stamp the Horse & Sleigh in Memento Black ink onto piece of White designated for the Sleigh. Color with Blends as shown, and die cut with corresponding die.  Attach to card front, as shown, with the heads of the "people" and "horse" above the cut "door".
  • Die cut "sleigh runners" from Silver Foil, and attach to "sleigh".
  • Stamp sentiment in Misty Moonligh ink onto scrap of White.  Fussy cut around the words!  Attach to card front, as shown, with dimensionals.
  • Finish by stamping coordinating sentiment inside in Misty Moonlight.  I also added a couple Snowflakes with Silver Festive Pearl centers!
