I was looking for an interesting card using the Night Divine Bundle, and came across this one! It's a variation of the Bridge Fold (the center section is removed). The "stable" fits perfectly in the basic bridge fold opening! Love the dies, love the DSP, love the card! Enjoy!
Measurements:
- Crumb Cake: 1/2 sheet
- Copper Clay (N): 4" x 4 1/2"
- Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Gold Foil: scraps
- O Holy Night DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 7/8" x 4 1/4" (stars); 1" x 3 1/2" (sand)
To Make This Card:
- Fold Crumb Cake card in half. Crease well.
- Now, cut from cut edge to fold 1 1/4" on each side.
- Then, fold these 2 strips up and out of the way, and cut away center piece along fold line. (This is the variation!)
- To create the "bridge span", fold the side pieces back into place. Attach the 1" "sand" piece to the wrong side of these pieces, flush with the bottom. It overlaps about 1/4" onto the side pieces. Take the scrap from the center piece and create a "support" piece 1" wide x 3" long. Adhere to "sand" DSP, on the wrong side. Besides supporting the paper, it also hides the back side, if desired.
- Attach "stars" DSP to center of each side piece.
- Next, die cut the "stable" from Copper Clay.
- Attach to 2 side pieces, with the point even with the top crease and the inside supports flush with the side pieces. Trim bottom even with card bottom, if necessary.
- Now, die cut the "holy family" and "long star" from Gold Foil.
- Attach the "family" to the "span" and the "star" to the top of the "stable".
- Adhere the Vanilla layer to the inside of card. Close card.
- Take a pencil and place a small tick mark at the center of the "stable" center beam, and along the bottom of this "base". Also, lightly mark the top of "Joseph's" head.
- Open card front. Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy ink. Line up the center mark on the stamp (I found the center) to the tick mark on the inside piece. Stamp. It should be centered!
- Finish with Star Trinket. (Sadly now no longer available.)
