Shaded Merriest Tree

I have had the Merriest Trees Bundle for some time, and have just not had time to play with it! I saw this sample combining the foil DSP from the All About Autumn pack with the tree from the bundle. It was so much fun to "decorate", too! You really need to see this one in person.

Measurements:

  • Moody Mauve (N): 1/2 sheet (card base), 1/2 sheet (tree)
  • All About Autumn DSP (ret): 4" x 5 1/4", 1/2" x 4" strip (inside)
  • Very Vanilla: 2" x 5 1/4", 4" x 5 1/4",3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Pecan Pie: scrap
  • Gold Adhesive Glitter paper: 1 1/4" x 3"
  • More Dazzle Specialty Paper (AC): scrap
To Make This Card:

  • Attach DSP to folded Moody Mauve card.
  • Run 2" Very Vanilla strip through Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Attach to center of card front.
  • Die cut the 5 pieces of the "tree".
  • Take a Blending Brush and Moody Mauve ink and add color to the edges of all 5 pieces.
  • Curve the lower edge of all 5 pieces upward with a bone folder.
  • Assemble the four, smaller pieces of the tree on top of the largest "tree". I did use Multipupose Glue for this.
  • Cut the "garland" from the Glitter paper. THis is so neat!  All 5 pieces cut at once!
  • Attach to each section of tree where desired.
  • Also, die cut one "star" either from the More Dazzle Specialty paper, or the Glitter paper.
  • Stamp "trunk" in Pecan Pie ink onto Pecan Pie scrap.  Cut out with corresponding die.
  • Stamp and emboss sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder.  I added this to the bottom of the card, first, and then fit the tree in the space above.  The "star" was the last piece I added!
  • Lastly, finish the inside.  I also stamped the cluster of ornaments in Moody Mauve ink in the upper corner.
  • NOTE: The Pretty Peacock piece is made the same, only it uses the Pretty Peacock foil paper, also from the All About Autumn DSP.
