Easter Bonnet Rocker Card

I've seen several of these Rocker Cards made as "Easter Bonnets"! How cool is that! This one uses the yummy Lemon Lolly color with a splash of lavender flowers! What can you come up with?

Measurements:

  • Lemon Lolly: 5 3/4" square (outside base), 5 1/4" square (embossed outside layer), 2 3/4" square (addition), 2 1/2" square (embossed addition layer), scraps
  • Basic White: 5 1/4" square (inside - need only 1/2)
  • Fresh Freesia: scraps
  • Highland Heather: scraps
  • Soft Sea Foam: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Run largest Lemon Lolly square with 2nd from largest Deckled Circle Die. Fold in half. Crease well.  Set aside.
  • Run the next square (that will be cut in half and embossed) 3rd from largest Deckled Circle Die. Cut in half. Save the other half for another card, or share with a friend! Emboss with desired embossing folder and attach to front of card. (tone on tone)
  • Now for the added piece.  Die cut the 3rd largest square from the 5th from the smallest die. Set aside.
  • Die cut the last square of Lemon Lolly from the 4th from the smallest die. Run through the same embossing folder and attach to smaller circle.
  • I attached this to the "card base", now. You will center it over the folded, larger circle, and no higher than the width of an envelope! Or, 4 1/4" tall.  You might want to attach this to your card base with Tear n Tape.
  • Next, I die cut several of the smallest flowers from the Paper Florist Dies. I layered most of these, and played around with an appealing arrangement.
  • I attached the ribbon strip, first. Then, the "branch" also from the Paper Florist Dies, and then arranged the flowers.
  • After I selected the flower centers, I embellished them with a little Wink of Stella.
  • I finished with a bow from the same ribbon.

Coffee Anyone?

There ARE stamps and dies for coffee, not just latte's! This sample uses the detailed dies to make the darling coffee pot, as well as a stamped up of coffee (with coffee stamped inside), along with some plaid DSP!  I just love this entire card!

Measurements:

  • Calypso Coral: 1/2 sheet
  • Lemon Lolly: 3" x 4 1/4"
  • Early Espresso:3 7/8" x 5 1/8". scraps
  • Pecan Pie: scrap
  • Basic Black: scraps
  • Basic White: scraps
  • A Little Latte DSP (N) (OE): 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" (plaid)
To Make This Card:

  • Layer Early Espresso and plaid DSP to folded Calypso Coral card.
  • Die cut 2 5/8" x 3 7/8" rectangle in Lemon Lolly from Deckled Rectangles. Set aside.
  • Die cut "coffee pot" from Early Espresso, "coffee" from Pecan PIe, and "handle" and "lid" from Basic Black.
  • Stamp "coffee mug" in Memento Black onto scrap of white.  Color with Calypso Coral Blends. Cut out with corresponding die.  Stamp "coffee" inside cup with Pecan Pie ink. Set aside.
  • Die cut "coffee beans" from DSP with corresponding die.
  • Now, to put it all together!
  • I first figured out how to assemble the "coffee pot"!
  • Adhere the "coffee mug" onto Lemon Lolly layer. Determine the angle of the "coffee pot" and mark the placement of the "coffee" from the "pot" to the "mug" lightly with a pencil.
  • Stamp the "coffee pour" in Early Espresso, then add the "coffee pot". Note that the pot hangs off the Lemon Lolly layer. Also, add sentiment, if desired.
  • Before adding this layer, add a strip of Natural Polka Dot trim, diagonally across card base.
  • Now, add the Lemon Lolly layer to the card front with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with scattered Swirl Dots and a little Wink of Stella on the "coffee" in the mug!
