Delicate Forest meets Meandering Meadow

Awesome cards don't have to be complicated! This gorgeous clean & simple card is so easy to create. Just an "arch" from the Delicate Forest bundle on top of a scenic piece of Meandering Meadows DSP in the Online Exclusive store. Add a few details and voila you have an awesome, any occasion card! Notice that I played with different color combinations and pieces of DSP. I did this one on Monday with my Senior Center stampers. They loved it!

Measurements:

  • Garden Green (Crushed Curry): 1/2 sheet
  • Basic Black (Granny Apple Green): 4" x 5 1/4", scrap
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
  • Meandering Meadows DSP (OE): 3 15/16" x 5 3/16" (i.e. a little smaller than top layer)
To Make This Card:
  • Attach DSP to folded card base.
  • Die cut the "tree arch" die from the Delicate Forest Dies on the Black layer. Attach to card front with Multipurpose Glue, making sure to hide DSP cut edges.
  • Some of the "leaves" are attached, so poke those out with a pokey tool, if desired.
  • If desired, die cut a "deer" in black from the Grassy Grove Dies. Attach to card between "arch".
  • Finish with scattered brass Dragonflies and Birds, or Butterflies.

Delicate Forest Tri-Fold

What an awesome way to use the new Delicate Forest Bundle! This idea utilizes this gorgeous arched tree die with the equally gorgeous Online Exclusive Meandering Meadows DSP! I used Amy Koender's idea of making it with a tri-fold!  It took a while to figure out, but actually quite easy to do!  We will be making this one in my February Class!

Measurements:

  • Garden Green: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
  • Night of Navy: scrap
  • Meandering Meadows DSP: 4 1/4" x 5 1/4" (one with a path)
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Garden Green card in half.  Die cut "tree arch" from front of card, making sure the die is centered! Note: not all the "leaves" are removed, some you can pull forward for some dimension!
  • Stamp "shrub" in Garden Green ink, on lower right corner of White, inside piece.
  • Score the DSP at 1/4" from RIGHT side. Crease well.
  • Place Tear n Tape along wrong side of 1/4" area.  Wrap around White inside layer, and then attach to inside card. The DSP has no backing, and will open to the right.
  • Stamp and emboss sentiment in White onto strip of Night of Navy.  Die cut with die from bundle.  Attach to card as shown.
  • Finish with scattered Brass Butterflies.

Spotlight Meandering Meadows

I just got back from a week at my aunt's in Springfield, IL! We stamped and stamped and stamped!  I actually made 25 cards!  Those will keep my posts coming for awhile! I spent a lot of my time creating with 2 different "scenic" packs of DSP!  This is one of them - Meandering Meadows, just released a week ago in the Online Exclusives. This is a simple, tasteful card using the "spotlight" technique. What I thought was interesting, is that only the back layer is embossed! Add a couple of the new, brass birds and your card is done.  I didn't want to spoil the paper with a sentiment, so I'll add that inside. This one could be used for so many occasions!

Measurements:

  • Petal Pink: 1/2 sheet, 2 3/4" x 4 1/4"
  • Meandering Meadow DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4
To Make This Card:

  • Die cut a deckled rectangle from front piece of DSP. Set aside.
  • Next, emboss this piece of DSP with the rectangle removed.  I used the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder from the Annual Catalog.
  • Attach this DSP piece to folded Petal Pink card.
  • Now, attach smooth, deckle-cut DSP piece to Petal Pink layer.
  • Add this piece to card front with Dimensionals, lining up image as best you can.
  • Finish with new, brass birds.

Clean & Simple Garden Meadow Card

Originally, I had just pre-ordered this gorgeous paper... Then, I started seeing some gorgeous, simple cards that also used the coordinating dies, and then had to break down and get the entire bundle! Which is now available in the Online Exclusives Store, while supplies last! It pairs the beautiful scenic Meandering Meadows DSP, with the stitched arch in the dies!  Add a background of an Embossing Folder of your choice, along with, perhaps a sentiment, and voila, your are done!  So many possibilities.  I am also including one done with the All About Autumn DSP, which sadly, is no longer available. Info for that version is in parenthesis.

Measurements:

  • Basic White (Copper Clay): 1/2 sheet, (scraps)
  • Basic White (Crumb Cake): 4" x 5 1/4".
  • Meandering Meadow DSP (N) (All About Autumn): 3 1/4" x 4" - purposefully select area to die cut with arch.
To Make This Card:

  • Die cut "arch: from front, White (Crumb Cake) layer. (I saved the insert for my sentiment.)
  • Next, emboss this piece with the "arch" removed.  I like something that looks like a "wall", so I used both the new, Exposed Brick Embossing Folder on the White version, and the retired Brick Embossing Folder on the Crumb Cake.
  • Now, die cut the "arch", again, selecting the part that you would like showing through the "arch".  I die cut this and inserted it through the opening. But, you could also just center the area of the DSP that you would like showing through the opening, and attach it behind.
  • Now, you can attach this to the folded White (Copper Clay) card base.
  • Stamp sentiment of your choice onto scrap of White (Copper Clay). Cut out with a pleasing label die, so that it doesn't distract from the scenery! Then attach to card front with Dimensionals.
  • FInish with a new Dragonfly Trinket and Gold Brushed Dots.
