Petal Park Book Binding Card

I just love the combination of the Country Gingham DSP with the Petal Park punched flowers! And, I love it made in a Book Binding card!! I also added extra punched leaves and layered, punched flowers, for some awesome dimension! We will be doing this card at my monthly Card Club!

Measurements:

  • Balmy Blue: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4 1/8" square - base & inside; 3 5/8" square (image),                     1 1/8" x 4 1/8", scraps
  • Country Gingham DSP (N): 1" x 4", 4" square
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Balmy Blue card base in half.  Score at 1 1/4" from fold, front side only.  Crease the front back well. Place adhesive under this 1 1/4" and glue front and back together.
  • Add the White layer to both the "binding" and the "front".
  • Next, add the Balmy Blue gingham pieces.
  • Now, stamp the "detail" leaves in Mint Macaron, to the smallest White square (it just fits).  I used the Stamparatus to line up the images.  Next, stamp the "solid" stamp, stamped off,  over the previous image, again, using the Stamparatus. Attach to card front.
  • Stamp "outline" of flowers in Pacific Point onto a scrap of White. Add "solid" flowers in Balmy Blue. Punch out with corresponding punch.  Repeat.
  • Next, stamp "detail" leaf in Mint Macaron onto strip of White.  Add "solid" leaf in stamped off, leaf. Create 4 such leaves, and punch out with corresponding punch.
  • Shape flowers with stylus.
  • Layer flowers as desired and add to card.
  • Shape leaves, by creating a "vein" down the center.  Attach to card where desired.
  • Add yellow centers to flowers, and scattered Balmy Blue embellishments to front of card.
  • Finish with Balmy Blue ombre bow on the "binding".

Split Card Crosses

Life does go on and in between hospital visits to Mom, I have been prepping my JA classes for school, and my stamping classes at Garner! It's a welcome diversion!  My Garner ladies wanted an Easter card, so I designed this one for them!  It uses our current Split Card Dies and Fresh Freesia designer DSP, along with our retired Cross of Hope dies cut out of Gold Foil!  A beautiful, simple card!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 4" x 5 1/4" (die cut)
  • 2021-23 InColor DSP: 4" x 5 1/4" Fresh Freesia
  • Gold Foil: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Die cut Split Card die of your choice.  (I chose the "floral" one.)
  • Attach Freesia DSP to back with Multipurpose Glue.  Note: I trimmed 1/16" from the bottom and side of the DSP so it wouldn't show.
  • Attach this to folded White card base.
  • Die cut 1 larger, simple cross from Gold Foil.  If desired, also cut out 2 smaller, simple crosses.  Attach, where desired, to open area of card front.
  • Finish with Fresh Freesia bow and scattered Iridescent Rhinestones.
  • Note: I added one of the outer edges of the smaller cross and an Easter sentiment to the inside.

Tri-Fold Around the Bend Variation

This verison of the Tri-Fold card was designed by Debbie Mageed.  The difference being, no additional "base" (so different scoring), and adding colorful DSP to the bottom flap. Similar, but different giving you many options!!  I designed my flowers at the bottom a little differently, as I liked having the larger flower hold down the upper flap.  The DSP on the bottom is from the Regency Park DSP pack!

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 5 1/2" x 11", scraps
  • Basic White: scraps (for flowers)
  • Night of Navy: 2 3/4" x 5 1/2", scraps
  • Regency Park: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
To Make This Card:

  • Score White base at 4 1/4" - 8 1/2". Crease well.
  • Next, lay the "Scalloped, Curvy" die ONLY onto bottom of top flap of "White base". (I have one edge of the die flush with the outside edge of the card.
  • Take Night of Navy piece and temporarily place on wrong side of front flap. Tape the narrow, scalloped die in place onto the Navy layer, following the cut edge on the White flap.
  • Remove from behind front flap and die cut. Adhere behind flap.
  • Stamp sentiment above die cut holes in Night of Navy ink.
  • Die cut 2 large flowers and piece with 3 small flowers from Basic White.
  • Die cut a variety of "leaves" in Navy, as well as the large flower center.
  • Assemble largest flower with medium leaf and flower center.  Close card, and attach flower to bottom section with Dimensionals, holding down upper flap.
  • Add remaining flowers and leaves to card front, as shown.
  • Finish by stamping Corners in Night of Navy ink on inside, as shown.
