Tri-Fold Around the Bend Variation

This verison of the Tri-Fold card was designed by Debbie Mageed.  The difference being, no additional "base" (so different scoring), and adding colorful DSP to the bottom flap. Similar, but different giving you many options!!  I designed my flowers at the bottom a little differently, as I liked having the larger flower hold down the upper flap.  The DSP on the bottom is from the Regency Park DSP pack!

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 5 1/2" x 11", scraps
  • Basic White: scraps (for flowers)
  • Night of Navy: 2 3/4" x 5 1/2", scraps
  • Regency Park: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
To Make This Card:

  • Score White base at 4 1/4" - 8 1/2". Crease well.
  • Next, lay the "Scalloped, Curvy" die ONLY onto bottom of top flap of "White base". (I have one edge of the die flush with the outside edge of the card.
  • Take Night of Navy piece and temporarily place on wrong side of front flap. Tape the narrow, scalloped die in place onto the Navy layer, following the cut edge on the White flap.
  • Remove from behind front flap and die cut. Adhere behind flap.
  • Stamp sentiment above die cut holes in Night of Navy ink.
  • Die cut 2 large flowers and piece with 3 small flowers from Basic White.
  • Die cut a variety of "leaves" in Navy, as well as the large flower center.
  • Assemble largest flower with medium leaf and flower center.  Close card, and attach flower to bottom section with Dimensionals, holding down upper flap.
  • Add remaining flowers and leaves to card front, as shown.
  • Finish by stamping Corners in Night of Navy ink on inside, as shown.

Tri-Fold Around the Bend

This Tri Fold Version was designed by LeeAnn Greff.  She created her tri-fold a little smaller, so she could mount it onto a colored base!  It works as the base is all one color! Love how the largest flower is used to help keep the top flap down. And, of course it uses the gorgeous Around the Bend dies!!  Love them!!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 5 1/2" x 11", scrap
  • Soft Succulent: 1/4 sheet, scraps
  • Evening Evergreen: 2 3/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Blushing Bride: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Score White base at 4" - 8".  Crease well.
  • Next, lay the "Scalloped, Curvy" die onto bottom of top flap of "White base".. Tape "Stitched, Curvy" die above with Washi Tape, and cut both dies out of the paper together. Note: the scalloped edge will cut separately from the stitched die, and the stitched die does NOT cut the upper edge.
  • Attach Evergreen piece to the wrong side of the top flap. Attach narrow, scallop piece to the Evergreen piece below the curve.
  • Next, trim off the remaining Evergreen piece, following the curve of the scallop piece. You can toss this piece!
  • Now, you can attach the "base" to the Soft Succulent layer, with the outside edges even, and about 1/8" showing top and bottom.
  • Stamp sentiment above die cut holes in Evening Evergreen.
  • Die cut 1 large flower and piece with 3 small flowers from Blushing Bride.
  • Die cut 2 small sprigs and the solid, medium leaf from Soft Succulent.
  • Die cut 1 flower center from scrap of White.
  • Assemble largest flower with medium leaf and flower center.  Close card, and attach flower to bottom section with Dimensionals, holding down upper flap.
  • Add remaining flowers and small leaves to card front, as shown.
  • Finish by stamping "border" on inside, in Evergreen ink, and stamping smaller "leaves" along side. Oh, and don't forget your message in Evergreen on the inside, too!

Fine Shimmer Around the Bend

I love dies that create interest in my card design.  The new Around the Bend dies do just that! I spotted this gorgeous card cr3ated by LeeAnn Greff and knew I needed to try this with my new dies! She paired the new, Fine Shimmer paper with the Dainty Flowers FREE SAB DSP. The picture doesn't do this justice, as it just doesn't catch the shimmer!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 1 3/4" x 3", scrap
  • Dainty Flowers DSP (N)(SAB): 4" x 5 1/4" (Blushing Bride print)
  • Fine Shimmer Paper (N): 2 3/8" x 5 1/2", scraps (Soft Succulent)
  • Blushing Bride: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Lay the "Scalloped, Curvy" die onto bottom of Shimmer Paper. Tape "Stitched, Curvy" die above with Washi Tape, and cut both dies out of the paper together. Note: the scalloped edge will cut separately from the stitched die, and the stitched die does NOT cut the upper edge. We'll trim that later!
  • Adhere the "Scalloped Curvy" piece to the bottom of the Blushing Bride DSP. (You will trim the DSP to follow this curve.
  • Next, adhere the "Stitched Curve" above leaving about a 1/16" gap.You should have approx 1 3/4" of DSP showing above the cut edge of the Shimmer Paper.  Trim down, if necessary, making sure the cut edge of the Shimmer Paper is parallel to the cut edge of the DSP.(i.e. it's straight).
  • Attach this layer to the folded White card.
  • Cut Stitched Rectangle from piece of White.
  • Stamp sentiment in Soft Succulent along right side.
  • Die cut 3 "Leaves" from Shimmer Paper, and Flowers from Blushing Bride.  Also cut flower center from scrap of White, if desired.
  • Assemble flowers on tag, as shown. Then adhere to card front as desire.
  • Add a little Wink of Stella to the White center.
  • FInish with new Iridescent Pastel Gems.
