Framed Violets Basic Card

This idea comes from Amy Koenders.  She always makes such good use of all products in a Suite. This one is no exception!  In addition to the  Framed Violets coordinating stamps, dies, and DSP, she has also used the Shimmering Stripes Specialty paper and Adhesive-Baked Blooms, as well as the Fern Embossing Folder and Fern & Flora Dies!  Makes for a neat card!

Measurements:

  • Fresh Freesia: 1/2 sheet, 3 1/4" x 4 3/8"
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4", 1/4 sheet (stamped images), scraps
  • Peaceful Pine (N): scraps
  • Violet Dreams (N) (OE): 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" (Peaceful Pine print)
  • Shimmering Stripes: 2 3/4" x 4"
To Make this Card:

  • Emboss one White layer with Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to folded Fresh Freesia card base.
  • Attach DSP strip to left side, over embossed piece.
  • Stamp scalloped oval in Fresh Freesia ink onto piece of Freesia cardstock.  Die cut with corresponding die.
  • Die cut oval insert from new, Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper. Adhere to center of scalloped piece.
  • Stamp 2 "violet sprigs" on piece of White in Peaceful Pine ink. Color with Blends and die cut with corresponding die. I also added Wink of Stella to the flowers.
  • Die cut 2, smaller Ferns from the Fern & Flora Dies. Cut the 3 "leaves" from the Framed Violet Dies, all from Peaceful Pine cardstock.
  • Add the 2 "ferns" to the oval, first.
  • Then adhere the 2 "violet sprigs" as shown.
  • And, lastly, add the 3 die cut "leaves".
  • Add assembled oval to card front with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink. Cut out with stitched circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.  Add to card front, as shown.
  • Finish front with Basic Rhinestones for flower centers, and one Adhesive-Backed Blooms.
  • Finish the inside, with a partial stamp of the "violet sprig" in Peaceful Pine. Color with Blends and add Rhinestones.
