Modified Double DSP Card

This card is a modification of a card I posted last week. It's a version of one I saw from Julie Davison. I changed the "base" of the card from a piece of DSP  (love the look) to cardstock with a strip of DSP on the "flap".  I didn't have enough pieces of DSP for a class of 14!! So, I designed the same "look".This one also uses my new Park Place stamps, but also uses the gorgeous, new Sentimental Park Dies - especially the awesome label dies.  Be sure to check them out.  They come in 2 sizes!

Measurements:

  • Sweet Sorbet: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 5" x 8" , 2" x 3 1/2" (label)
  • Regency Park DSP (N): 1 3/4" x 5 1/2", 1/2" x 5" (inside)
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Sweet Sorbet card in half.  Remove 2 1/2" from front of card. Save this piece, the "fancey label" will be cut from this piece!!  Love when I can use those pieces!!
  • Score White piece at 4" (or, just fold in half)
  • Adhere White piece inside Sweet Sorbet Card Bse with creases matching.
  • Attach DSP piece to front flap, then adhere to White card.
  • Die cut "insert" from White and insert into "fancy label".
  • Attach "label" to front of card.
  • Stamp desired sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink.
  • I also stamped the trio of flowers in the corners outside, and inside in Sweet Sorbet.
  • Finish with Champagne Rhinestones gems. I also like to add a strip of DSP to the inside of the card before stamping any additional sentiments.

Double DSP Card

I'm always on the lookout for quick, fun folds!  I spotted this one on one of Julie Davison's Sunday Stamping dates with her Mom.  She didn't call it anything, so I am calling it a Double DSP Card..the base of the card is actually DSP, with a full, folded, solid card inserted inside! I started with Julie's base idea, and then modified it from there! This one also uses my new Park Place stamps, but also uses the gorgeous, new Sentimental Park Dies - especially the awesome label dies.  Be sure to check them out.  They come in 2 sizes!

Measurements:

  • Regency Park DSP (N) : 5 1/2" x 6", 1/2" x 5"
  • Basic White: 5" x 8" 2" x 3 1/2" (label)
  • Petal Pink: 3" x 4 1/4"
To Make This Card:

  • Score DSP at 4 1/4"
  • Score White piece at 4" (or, just fold in half)
  • Adhere White piece inside DSP with creases matching. I also adhered the front flap of the DSP to this card, but you could leave it loose.
  • Die cut "fancy label" from Petal Pink cardstock.
  • Die cut "insert" from White and insert into "fancy label".
  • Attach "label" to front of card.
  • Stamp desired sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink.
  • I also stamped the trio of flowers in the corners outside, and inside in Sweet Sorbet.
  • Finish with Solid Faceted gems. I also like to add a strip of DSP to the inside of the card before stamping any additional sentiments.

Petal Park Fun Fold

This card is a variation of one created by Susan LaCroix. I have done this simple fun fold, but I have just gotten the Petal Park Bundle, so gave her idea a try!  It utilizes the beautiful, coordinating Regency Park DSP, the Petal Park stamps, and the coordinating Petal Park flower Builder punch. Oh, and to create the hexagon "label" I used the carried over Very Best Trio punch!

Measurements:

  • Mango Melody: 1/2 sheet. 3" x 4 1/4" (label)
  • Regency Park DSP (N): 2 3/4" x 5 1/4", 1" x 5 1/4"
  • Shaded Spruce: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5" (inside), 2 3/4" x 4" (label for stamping), scraps
To Make This Card:
  • Score card at 3" from one end.  Turn and score at 1 1/4" from the other end. Crease well with bone folder. It should meet!
  • Attach DSP pieces to front flaps as shown.
  • Add White inside layer to Shaded Spruce layer and adhere to inside of card.  Stamp trio of flowers in Mango Melody, if desired.
  • Ink up the "detail" trio of flowers in Mango Melody and stamp onto scrap of White cardstock.  Add "solid" color of Mango Melody, stamped off so you will be able to see the detail! Punch out with coordinating punch.  All 3 flowers are on one stamp, so all you need to do is line them up with the punch and punch once!!  Too cool! Set these aside for now.
  • Next punch all corners of the label pieces.
  • I used the Stamparatus to stamp the 2-step "greenery".
  • Stamp the "detail" full strength onto White, punched layer.
  • Line up the "solid" stamp, stamp off onto a scrap of paper, and then stamp on top of "detail".
  • Layer this White layer onto the Mango Melody layer and center and add to card as shown.
  • Next, attach flowers to "greenery" openings with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with new, Milky Dot centers. I also filled in an open area with a small sentiment stamped in Shaded Spruce.

Another Overlapping Fun Fold

Here's another one of those neat, new overlapping folds, only with a different orientation! This one also uses the awesome Share a Milkshake bundle, only this time I used the fabulous, folded ice cream cone!! It actually folds to make a neat cone! I topped it with stamped scoops of ice cream with a cherry on top!

Measurements:

  • Fresh Freesia : 2 pcs 1/4 sheet each
  • Dandy Designs DSP (N)(SAB): 5 1/2" square. 5/8" strip
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 2 1/2" x 4", scraps to stamp
  • Crumb Cake: 2 1/4" x 3"
  • Sweet Sorbet: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Score DSP square at 1 3/4" crease well.  Center onto one, 1/4 base and adhere.
  • Run one white layer through an Embossing Folder. NoteMine is from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders to be released March 1 - stay tuned. These are awesome!
  • Fold the other 1/4 sheet of Fresh Freesia in half. Attach the embossing piece to the front, and the smooth piece to the inside. Open DSP and center and adhere to card as shown above, so it opens in portrait orientation.
  • Next, let's decorate the front!  I used the Share a Milkshake stamps and dies! To create the "cone" die cut from piece of Crumb Cake. Crease well along score lines and adhere into cone shape. Set aside.
  • Now, stamp 2 "scoops" of ice cream.  I selected 2 colors of ink from the DSP - Fresh Freesia and Petal Pink.  Stamp onto White and cut out with corresponding die. Set aside.
  • Die cut a "cherry" from Sweet Sorbet cardstock.
  • Next, let's arrange it all on the embossed piece on the front. First, attach narrow strip of DSP to White layer.
  • Then, adhere the ice cream cone. Next, add the 2 scoops of ice cream.  You will see a neat slit in the ice cream, this is for the straw, the spoon, or in this case, the cherry!  Pretty neat, huh!  SU! thinks of everything. So slip the cherry into the slit.
  • Lastly, stamp sentiment in Crumb Cake onto small strip of White.  Attach to card over "cone" with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with strip of DSP on inside, and scattered Opaque Adhesive Backed Dots
