I haven't done this technique in AGES!! It's called "Spotlighting". You take any stamp design and focus on one part of it "spotlighting" it! TX Sharon shared it on her Mystery Stamping January 30th! Someone shared one using the new Decorative Borders that I fell in love with. Mine uses Starry Sky - my new, favorite blue!! GIve this a try....in both orientations!
Measurements:
- Thick White : 1/2 sheet
- Basic White: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8", 2 1/4" square
- Starry Sky: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", 2 1/8" square
To Make This Card:
- Attach Starry Sky layer to to folded Thick White card.
- Cut Stitched Square from Basic White piece. Stamp center of border in Memento Black ink onto square. Color with blends as shown, lifting a little of the Starry Sky ink for some contrast.
- Attach this to cut Starry Sky square. Add Dimensionals to the back.Set aside for now.
- Place a pencil mark on White layer that is down 2 5/8", and in 1 1/4". Line up the center flower of the border on this pencil mark and stamp full border in Memento Black. Color just the areas that will not be overed up with the square.
- Attach this piece to the card front.
- Next, line up the focal point on the square, so that it continues the image. Remove the backing of the Dimensionals and adhere to card front.
- Stamp sentiment in Starry Sky ink.
- To finish add Starry Sky bow, and new, scattered Milky Dots.
