Sending Love Half Circle Z Fold

Our host this month requested we explore the Sending Love Bundle. She found this card created by one of our Artisans, Jacque Williams, so I gave it a try using the Online Exclusives Delightful Floral DSP...one of my favorites! Jacque adds a unique feature with just a portion of the Deckled Circles, it really adds some unique interest, don't you think!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 4 3/4" square
  • Pecan Pie: 2" x 3"
  • Delightful Floral DSP (OE): 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" (green leaves), 5" square, 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (lime solid), 4" square, scraps (peacock solid)
  • Berry Burst: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Create a "Z" fold card base by folding White card base in half, and then folding the front back on itself, creating a "Z".
  • Attach green leaf strip to front flap.
  • Cut Deckled Circle from solid Lemon Lime Twist square (or cut from a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock). Cut next smallest Deckled Circle from Basic White. Adhere together.
  • Next, attach left side of circles to card front and adhere well. Flip card over, and taking a paper trimmer, cut off the extending portions of the circle, and voila, you have your cut circle!
  • Now, to make the cute "mailbox"! Die cut a "stand" from piece of Pecan Pie - the detail on this is amazing! Set aside.
  • Next, cut the 3D "mailbox" from your choice of coordinating DSP, or cardstock.  Fold along center fold line (I curved it a bit), and bottom strip.
  • Place narrow Tear n Tape along bottom strip, and make 3D "mailbox"!
  • Cut "envelope" from corresponding dies. I used some DSP, but you could also use coordinating cardstock. Crease well and adhere together with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Cut "scrubs". I also used some corresponding DSP for this!  Too cool!
  • I also die cut the "flag" and a "heart" from Berry Burst scraps.
  • Now to assemble it all!
  • I laid the "mailbox" onto the circles and then the "base", to determine how tall the base really needs to be.  I placed a pencil mark.
  • I added the "base" to the circle first, and snipped off the bottom, essentially cutting off the "grass".
  • Add the "scrub" to the bottom, and the "mailbox" to the top!
  • Finish by adding the "heart" to the "envelope, and tucking that into the "mailbox", and the "flag" (yes there are holes, if you have mini brads) to the box as well.
  • Take a Stamping Write marker and color the sentiment words.  Stamp onto your card, as shown.
  • Finish with scattered Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Dots.
