Fancy Gold & Vanilla Darling Details

I needed another card for my July Card Club using the Darling Details bundle.  I had one card using the gorgeous eyelet frames and stamped images, but I wanted another one using the beautiful eyelet border with the woven ribbon! Sue Campfield to the rescue, again. She did a version of this one that I thought would be perfect for so many occasions! Enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Thick Very Vanilla: 1/2 sheet,
  • Very Vanilla: 7/8" x 5 1/2", 2" x 3 3/4"
  • Gold Foil: 2" x 3 3/4", 2 1/4" square
To Make This Card:
  • Fold the Thick Vanilla base in half.
  • Die cut the "eyelet border" from the Vanilla strip by placing the scallop edge near the bottom of the piece.
  • Now, thread the ribbon through the slits in the die cut.  I attached both ends of the ribbon to the cardstock with a Mini Glue Dot. Then, attach this strip to the card, as shown.
  • Die cut the floral piece from the Darling Details Dies in Gold Foil. Add to card front as well.
  • Die cut sentiment of your choice from Gold Foil. I cut mine from the Sending Smiles dies, but I would have liked to have used our new Wanted to Say Dies, which I don't currently have, but will rectify that shortly! Attach to card front where desired.
  • Add Iridescent Pastel Gems to flowers, and then scatter some above the eyelet border.  I also added the Gold Festive Pearls to the "flowers" made in the eyelet border.  I love this!!

Sending Smiles Pop Up Vase

This is a copy of one of the cards that Dawn Griffith shared in her video.  I usually start with one that I have seen, to work out the kinks first! I really do love this version.  It's so cheerful! It uses the continuing Sending Smiles Bundle, along with the retired 2022-2024 InColor DSP paper pack in Tahitian Tide. This color IS continuing one more year, but the DSP did not.

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet - card base
  • Basic White: 3/4" x 3 7/8" (pull tab); 1/2" x 2" (anchor); 3 1/8" x 3 1/2" (front piece) scraps - sentiments, flowers
  • Tahitian Tide: 3 3/8" 3 3/4"; scraps
  • Parakeet Party: scraps (leaves)
  • 2022-2024 InColor DSP Paper Pack (ret): 2 1/4" x 5" (vase): 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" cut into 2 pieces - front (Tahitian Tide)
To Make this Card

  • Fold Thick Basic White cardstock in half to create base.
  • Score DSP "vase" along 5" at 3/4" and 1 1/2". Turn and score along 2 1/4" side 1" from each end.  Lightly crease.
  • Now, take your Paper Snips and make 2 snips along score lines up to 1" score line on each end.
  • On one end, cut away the 2 outside corners, and on the other end cut away the middle section. Set aside.
  • Score the 3/4" pull tab 3/8" from one end. Lightly crease.
  • Place Tear Tape on the "wrong" side of the middle tab.  Attach unscored end of "pull tab" to this vase tab with cut edge matching score edge make one long extended pull
  • Place Tear Tape on 3/8" end of "pull tab"
  • Lay the "vase/pull tab" out flat on inside left of card, with cut edge of "pull tab" (the end with the Tear Tape, up) even with the crease in the card. Close right side of card over Tear Tape.
  • Open up card flat, again, with everything still flat.
  • Next, take the small, "anchor" piece and place a small strip of Tear Tape on each end. Making sure that everything is laying even, attach "anchor" over "pull tab", near the "vase" end.
  • Lastly, fold "vase" back, up into place. Place Tear Tape onto "right" side of 2 outside "tabs". Carefully remove backing and fold these tabs back.
  • With "vase" laying flat, into closed place, tuck the tabs between the "pull tab" and close card, again. Press the area of the tabs to attach.  Now, open the card and the "vase" should pop up into place!
  • Now, to fill the "vase"!  Cut a variety of flowers and stems from the set you have chosen.
  • Place some images flat onto back of card above "vase". This included stems and flowers!
  • Next, add a couple of "stems" to the back side of the "vase" with glue dots, or adhesive.  Then, attach flowers.
  • I also added a sentiment in Memento Black, and cut out with die in set.
  • Die cut a pretty insert from piece of White.  I stamped the small daisy image in Wild Wheat (N) ink!
  • Design a simple, card front (put all your time and efforts on the inside), and Voila you are done!
  • For this one, I stamped the images, mounted the piece on coordinating cardstock and finished as shown.

Sending Smiles Slimline

I saw this gorgeous slimline card using the new Sending Smiles Bundle in these gorgeous colors! Let me just say this is my one and only, and we will NOT be doing this in a class!!  It was fun to do, and a definite challenge!  And, I am pleased with how it turned out!  It's just a one of a kind!!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 7" x 8 1/2", 2 3/4" x 7 3/4", scraps
  • Parakeet Party: 3 1/4" x 8 1/4"
To Make This Card
  • Score Basic White Base at 3 1/2". Fold in half. Crease well.
  • Emboss Parakeet Party piece with Hive 3D embossing folder.  You will need to line it up and emboss, twice.  Attach to folded White base.
  • Stamp and cut out a variety of "flowers" in Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather, as well as one or two "stems" in Parakeet Party.  The centers are Daffodil Delight.
  • Stamp "sending" in Fresh Freesia and cut out with larger die.  Set aside.
  • Now, just start arranging all onto card in a pleasing manner.  You need to stamp some of the flowers/stems directly onto the card layer and pop up several with Dimensionals.  I started on the left side and worked over to the right, adding the "sending" with Dimensionals fairly soon.
  • I decided it needed a little "filler" , so stamped off the little "sprig" in Fresh Freesia.
  • Finish with Brushed Brass Butterflies.
