Blue Valentine Gnome

Who would have thought of a blue valentine!  Well, Stampin' Up! did!!  I used their cue from the blue hearts in the new Country Floral DSP, and created this card for my class at Garner! They loved it! I paired the little gnome holding the heart from the new Friendly Gnomes stamp set, with the little heart oval from the Framed Florets and the lovely Balmy Blue heart paper from the Country Floral DSP!  Add a little coordinated Blends, and you have a quick, darling card!

Measurements:

  • Balmy Blue: 1/2 sheet
  • Country Floral DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 3" x 3 3/4"
To Make This Card:

  • Die Cut "tiny heart" Oval from DSP.(this die does not cut out the center). Before cutting, add the Oval die with the "ridges" to the center of the "tiny heart" die, and cut both together from the DSP.  Discard the center pieces. (or save for another project).
  • Attach this piece to folded Balmy Blue card.
  • Cut another Oval with "ridges" from White piece.  Set the White "frame" aside, and stamp "gnome" in Memento Black ink onto the smooth center of Oval.
  • Color with Blends as shown.  Note: I opted to color the heart in Mint Macaron to coordinate with the DSP creating a very coordinated look. My students at Garner really wanted their heart red!!
  • Attach this oval to the center of card.
  • Stamp sentiment from Friendly Gnomes stamp set in Memento Black on inside of card, directly to the blue card.
  • FInish with scattered Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins and a knot of Mint Macaron Ribbon.
