Double Stamped Candy Canes on Split Texture Background

I saw this version of the Sweetest Candy Canes using the stamped candy canes on the Split Texture Dies...a really nice option! This one is monochromatic in Garden Green.  It works!! Could also be done in Real Red!!

Measurements:

  • Garden Green: 1/2 sheet, 3 1/4" square (scalloped circle)
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (one die cut for front, other for the inside), 2 pcs @ 1 1/2" x 4" (candy canes),  3 1/4" square (circle)
To Make This Card:
  • Cut "split" diefrom White piece.
  • Attach to folded Garden Green card with Multipurpose Glue.
  • Die cut largest scalloped circle from Garden Green.  Cut White circle from coordinating die.  Adhere together, then attach to center, front of card.
  • Stamp "candy canes" in Garden Green. Make sure you've stamped one in each direction! Cut out with corresponding dies.
  • I attached both "candy canes" to circle with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment in Garden Green ink on lower right corner.
  • Finish with Garden Green bow and retired Garden Green Toile Embellishments.

Single Stamped Candy Cane

I had so much fun creating with this bundle!!  I hope you don't mind! I just love Real Red and White!!  So, clean and cheery! This sample utilizes the STAMPED candy cane (rather than the one die cut from the DSP) along with the awsome "stripe die"!!

Measurements:

  • Real Red: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (one die cut for front, other for the inside), 1 1/2" x 4" (candy cane),  3 1/4" square (scalloped circle),1 1/4" x 2 1/2" (label), scraps
  • Sweetest Christmas (N)(retiring): 2 3/4" square (polka dots)
  • Glimmer Specialty Paper (N)(retired): scraps (evening evergreen)
To Make This Card:
  • Cut "stripe die" from White piece.
  • Attach to folded Real Red card with Multipurpose Glue.
  • Die cut scalloped circle from White.  Cut red polka dots from coordinating smooth circle.  Adhere together, then attach to center, front of card.
  • Stamp "candy cane" in Real Red.  Cut out with corresponding die.
  • Stamp "springs" in Garden Green onto scrap of White.  Cut out with corresponding die.
  • Die cut partial "boughs" from Evening Evergreen Glimmer Paper.
  • Stamp sentiment in Real Red onto scrap of White.  Cut out with small, wide banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • Now, gather up all your pieces and begin arranging!  I started with the "candy cane" popped up with Dimensionals.
  • I tucked one "sprig" to right of "candy cane"
  • Then, attach the glitter "boughs" behind the other "sprig" and attach it to the left.
  • Next, add sentiment, also with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with Red Rhinestones.

Criss Cross Candy Cane Dies

I just loved the possibilities of the stripe die in the Candy Cane Dies, but had yet to even use them...and now they are leaving!  So, I decided I had better get to creating.  I copied this awesome card that uses the stripe dies in both directions!!  I love how it turned out!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, scraps
  • Sweetest Christmas (N)(retiring): candy cane die cuts
  • Garden Green: 1/4 sheet
  • Real Red: 1/4 sheet
To Make This Card:
  • Die cut stripe die from Garden Green cardstock. Repeat with Real Red cardstock.
  • Flip over the Garden Green piece and attach to folded White card with Multipurpose Glue.
  • Repeat with the Real Red piece, leaving this piece "right side up", and matching inside framed edges.
  • Die cut 2 "candy canes" from DSP.  You can use any of the candy cane images.
  • Attach to front of card.  The bottom one I attached "flush", and the crossed one is popped up with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp 3 "sprigs" in Garden Green onto scrap of White.  Die cut with corresponding die.
  • Tie Garden Green ribbon into a bow.  Attach to Candy Canes with mini glue dots.
  • Tuck "sprigs" under bow with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Stamp sentiment in Garden Green.  I used a strip from the striped die from another card!  It's the perfect width!
  • Attach the sentiment to card with mini dimensionals.
  • Finish with red rhinestones.

Sweet Candy Cane Pop Up Block Card

I found this interesting fold shared by Lisa Curcio and wanted to try it. She has quite a few options using this fold over on her website.  Too much fun!  I decided to try the one with the Sweet Candy Cane Bundle, and love how it turned out!

Measurements:

  • Real Red: 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" (base), 3 1/4" x 5" (block 1), 2 1/2" x 4" (block 2),  1 1/2" x 3" (block 3)
  • Sweetest Christmas DSP (N): STRIPE - 4" x 5 1/4" (base layer),
  • Sweetest Christmas DSP (N): DOTS -  1 3/4" x 4" (card front), 1 1/4" x 3" (block 1), 1 1/4" x 2 1/4" (block 2), 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" (block 3)
  • Sweetest Christmas DSP (N): 2 die cut Candy Canes
  • Basic White: 1 7/8" x 4 1/8" (card front), 1 3/8" x 3 1/8" (block 1), 1 3/8" x 2 3/8" (block 2), 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" (block 3), 4" x 5 1/4" (back of card base for msg)
To Make This Card:

  • Score Real Red base at 2" x 4". Crease well, making an "accordion" fold.
  • Attach stripe DSP to base.
  • Then, I began by attaching all DSP pieces to corresponding White bases.
  • Find the longest layers and attach to front of "accordion" fold.
  • Next, we'll begin the Pop Up part with the first (next largest) block. Score at 1 1/2" - 3" - 4 1/2". Crease well creating a partial "square".
  • Place Tear n Tape onto first 1 1/2" section and last 1/2" section.
  • Adhere corresponding DSP/White piece to second section from the left.
  • Remove backing from left side. Place cut edge along score line of base. Close card over Tear Tape.
  • Open up card. Remove Tear Tape from 1/2" side.  Tuck under and adhere to back of card.
  • Now, try the card, to make sure it "pops up".
  • For Block #2, score at 1" - 2 1/2" - 3 1/2". Then, continue to add to card as above.
  • For Block #3, scor at 1/2" - 2" - 2 1/2". Then, continue to add to card as above.
  • Voila, the "pop ups" are finished! Now, to decorate.
  • For this sample, I die cut 2 matching "Candy Canes" in both directions.  I adhered the bottom one directly to the front of card, and the "crossed" one to the front with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with a bow.  You can also scatter some Rhinestones or sequines, if desired.
  • You can add an optional White piece to the back of card for your greeting or sentiment - and signature!
