I saw this gorgeous card and just had to try it! It's a clever combination of the older, returning Beautiful Trees dies, the new Horizon Dies and Pebble accents, and the retiring Beauty of the Earth DSP. This card could be used for so many occasions, and, seasons!
Measurements:
- Old Olive: 1/2 sheet, scraps
- Beauty of the Earth DSP: 4" x 5 1/4" (green), 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" (wood grain)
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scraps
- Real Red: scraps
To Make This Card:
- Attach DSP to folded Old Olive card base.
- Cut the "tree" from the "wood grain" DSP, "fence" pieces from Basic White, "sea grass" from Old Olive scraps and "birds" from Real Red.
- Before assembling, take a Blending Brush and soften the White fences with Crumb Cake ink, tips of the "sea grass" with Mossy Meadow ink, and "birds" with Cherry Cobbler ink.
- Now, you're ready to assemble! Adhere the "tree" so the branches on the left and the top of the "tree" just miss the outside edges of the DSP layer.
- Add the left "fence", so the edge is along the DSP edge and the tree trunk is at the bottom edge. Attach the other "fence" to the right cut edge and up just a little bit.
- Attach one grassy piece in front of the right fence. Cut off extra. Attach the other piec to the left, as shown. Cut off trailing piec and attach that in front of rest of left fence piece.
- I added "eyes" to the "birds" and placed them on the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Stamp the "birds" in Basic Gray.
- Finish with scattered Pebbles!
- Take the White layer and stamp as follows: stamp the "sky" in stamped off Balmy Blue, line up the "water" underneath and stamp in Coastal Cabana, finish with the "sand" in Crumb Cake ink. Oh, and also add some grains of sand below "beach" in Crumb Cake.
- You can also add "sea grass" in Just Jade and "seagulls" in Basic Gray. Attach this piece to card front, on top of Coastal Cabana.
- Next, cut out the 2-piece "fence" from the Horizon Dies. "Weather" it with the "sand" stamp and Crumb Cake in.
- Attach "fence" to card front with outside edges matching the cut edges of White layer, as shown.
- Finish with groups of those darling "Pebbles".
