Storybook Garden Patch Hinge Card

I just saw this darling card using the Storybook Garden Patch bundle by Lisa Curcio. She also has a cute sample using the Umbrella Days bundle in the Online Exclusives. She calls it a "Hinge" card. (I've done similar folds, but I don't remember what I called it!) It utilizes the stamps in the Storybook Garden Patch bundle, along with the Storybook Moments DSP in a pleasing, easy fun fold.  I hope to do this one with my Advanced Senior Gals this month!

Measurements:

  • Old Olive: 1/4 sheet (base), 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" (card)
  • Basic White:4" square (inside card), scraps
  • Boho Blue: 1 1/2" x 8 1/4"
  • Soft Sea Foam: 4" x 5" both arches
  • Storybook Moments DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 1 1/4" x 4 ", 1/2" x 4" (strawberry print), 4 1/8" square (Old Olive "medallion)
To Make This Card:

  • Attach DSP strips to either side of Old Olive base. (I used strips instead of a full piece of DSP to save on paper!)
  • Fold Old Olive card in half. Decide which direction you would like to have your "card" open. Lisa's opened to the left, mine opens from the top. This makes a difference as the DSP layer is a directional print.  Add the DSP to the front of the card.
  • Attach the White layer inside, along with the DSP strip.  You can stamp your sentiment in Black ink now, as well. Set this aside for the moment.
  • Next, fold the Boho Blue "hinge" in half. Crease well.
  • Attach the "hinge" to the BACK of the Old Olive card, with the crease lining up to the cut edge, leaving the top free.
  • Cut a "flag" from the top "hinge" piece.
  • Attach the card to the card base with Tear n Tape.
  • Now cut to different sized arches from the Soft Sea Foam piece.
  • The larger arch is adhered to the "hinge", with the cut edge matching the fold of the "hinge". (Note: You might want to stamp the sentiment onto the largest arch before attaching it to the "hinge".)
  • The smaller arch is attached underneath, and directly to the Old Olive card.
  • Now, for the images.  Stamp the "watering can", 2 "strawberries", one "basket", and one "trowel" onto scraps of White in Memento Black ink. Color with Blends as shown.
  • Die cut images with corresponding dies.
  • Arrange "watering can" and "strawberries" onto front with Dimensionals.
  • Arrange the "basket", with "strawberries" tucked into it, and trowel flat, as shown, onto the inside, smaller arch.
  • Finish with scattered Butterflies.
  • My card didn't want to lay flat, so I used a clear velcro dot to assist in the closure.

New Arched Wishes Birthday Card

As I mentioned before, I just love the Everyday Arches Dies, as well as the Stamp Set that goes with it! And, as of yesterday, we now have another stamp set, in the Online Store, that also goes with it. It's called Arched Wishes, and is a birthday design! It includes arched, and straight, greetings, balloons, and an awesome cupcake.  Check it out!  This design was inspired by another demonstrator, that paired it with the Floral Delight DSP in the new mini. Sadly the fun balloons need to be fussy cut, but the result is well worth it, don't you think!

Measurements:

  • Basic White:1/2 sheet, 4 1/4" x 5 3/8" (arch), 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" (for the stamped balloons)
  • Floral Delight DSP (N): 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (branch print), 4" x 5 1/4" (yellow gingham), 3 DSP scraps for the 3 balloons
To Make This Card:

  • Attach DSP layer to folded White card.  This goes from cut edge to cut edge.
  • Die cut largest arch from White piece.
  • Stamp sentiment in Pecan Pie ink onto Yellow Gingham piece.  Die cut with next largest arch. Layer together with White layer.
  • Stamp 3 balloons onto white piece in Black Ink.
  • Also, stamp just the balloon part onto 3 different DSP scraps.
  • Now, for the fun part.  You need to fussy cut the 3 DSP balloons, as well as the balloons with streamers!!
  • Attach DSP balloons to White balloons. As shown.
  • Attach one balloon to center of arch, with Dimensionals. Add another, overlapping, to the left. And, adhere the last one, separate, to the right, also with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with yellow Daffodil Delight Satin bow, and scattered Iridescent Faceted Gems.

White & Gold Delightful Wishes Flip Flap Card

I saw this gorgeous White and Gold fun fold card using the Delightful Wishes Bundle, and decided to give it a try. The designer called it a Flip Flap card, so that works. (Even though I have other Flip Flap Cards!) Any White and Gold DSP will work for the paper, however, we used the retired Most Adored DSP from last season.  This idea also uses the soon to be released Textured Notes Dies from the Online Exclusives. Diagrams are thanks to Laura Seki.

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet; 3" x 4 1/2" (largest die cut; 2 1/2" x 4" (next size die cut); 1 7/8" x 3 3/8" (exact layer); 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" (word), scraps (flowers, label)
  • Gold Foil: 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • Adhesive Sheet: 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • Most Adored DSP (ret): 2 pcs @ 2 3/4" x 5 1/4"' 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
To Make This Card:
  • Fold White card base in half.  Score front 1 1/4" from cut edge.
  • Measure down from the top and up from the bottom, along scored edge for 1 1/2" at each end.  Remove these small pieces as shown in above diagram. Crease well along score lines in both directions.
  • Adhere larger DSP pieces to front and back of front flap.
  • Adhere narrow DSP piece to inside card, as shown.
  • Die cut 2 rectangles from the Textured Notes, that fit the White pieces. Layer together, along with smooth-edge layer with Dimensionals.
  • Fold flap back and attach these rectangles to extension with Tear n Tape.
  • Now, for the rest of the card front.
  • Die cut the 4 flower pieces from scraps of White.  Layer together with Multipurpose Glue. Add to front rectangles with Dimensionals.
  • Next, stamp sentiment in Wild Wheat ink. (Doesn't it look like it's embossed in gold?) Die cut with corresponding label die. Attach to card front, above flowers.
  • Adhere Adhesive Sheet to White "word" piece.  Die cut narrow word.
  • Die cut "word" layer in Gold Foil.  Remove backing from White "word" and adhere to gold foil layer.
  • Next, adhere to rectangles on front of card. They will hang over the edges.
  • Finish with small Gold Pearls. (I used the retired Festive Pearls).

Clean & Simple Delightful Wishes Card

When I work with a new stamp set/bundle, I like to explore all elements of the bundle! This sample utilizes the "branch" with the stamped and then die cut "flowers".  I stamped the leaves directly onto the White arch, adding some where needed after I was done. Don't you just love the Daffodil Delight gingham?  So cheerful!  If you don't have the new Everyday Arches from the Online Store, you really need to get them!  Enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Basic White:1/2 sheet, 3" x 4 1/4" (arch), scraps
  • Floral Delight DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (yellow gingham)
  • Gold Foil: 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
  • Pecan Pie: 2" x 5 1/2"
  • Pool Party: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Attach gingham DSP to folded White card.
  • Die cut arches in White cardstock and Gold Foil. Layer together.
  • Wrap piece of ribbon around lower part of arches, and adhere to the back. Then, attach  to card. Tie bow, and set aside, to be added when branch is done!
  • Die cut "branch" from Pecan Pie piece.  Add to card front over arches, as shown.
  • Stamp several "leaves" as shown in Mossy Meadow ink.
  • On scrap of White, stamp "solid" stamp in Lemon Lolly ink, and the detailed stamp in Daffodil Delight. Die cut with corresponding die, and add to card, as shown, with Dimensionals.  (This is where I added additional "leaves", if desired.)
  • To finish card, I randomly stamped "filler" in Daffodil Delight (I think it's the center for the flowers). Now, you can add the bow.
  • Add flower centers with a Pecan Pie Blend, or Stampin' Write Marker. And, finally and a couple scattered Tiny Bees.
  • Ooo, and don't forget to add a little Wink of Stella to the flowers!
