Plaid, Masculine Birthday Card

I'm always on the lookout for fast & easy, but tasteful masculine cards! I was also looking for ways to use the balloons in the Arched Wishes stamp set that didn't require cutting the entire balloon out! I found this one that checked all the boxes! It uses one of the plaids from the Timeless Plaid DSP (still available in the Online Store), paired with the Arched Wishes stamp set! It's just perfect!

Measurements:

Cajun Craze: 1/2 sheet
Basic Black: 3" x 5 1/4"
Basic White: 2 pcs @ 2 7/8" x 5 1/8" (1 inside and 1 outside)
Timeless Plaid DSP (OE): 1 1/4" x 5 3/8" (inside), scrap (balloons)

To Make this Card:

Remove 1" from front of folded Cajun Craze card base.
Adhere DSP strip to the "inside", and then one of the pieces of White butt up right next to it. The inside is done!
Take the other White piece and stamp the sentiment near the left side in Memento Black.
Then, stamp 2 of the balloons, as shown. (I used my Stamparatus, as the placement is a little tight.)
Mount onto Black piece and then add to front of card.
Next, stamp 2 "balloons" onto scraps of plaid, and fussy cut with paper snips. Adhere to stamped balloons, as shown.
Finish with scattered Faux Glass Dots.

Storybook Friends Side Tower Pop Up Card

I've been wanting to try this fold for a while. It's called a Side Tower Pop Up Card. I did one many years ago! So much fun to create, and the best thing is it fits easily into an A2 envelope! This one is a "Becky Original" inspired by one, a Petal Pink version, by Susan Campfield (which I'll include below). Mine uses Lost Lagoon paired with DSP from the Storybook Moments and Timeless Plaid papers. There wasn't a small enough die cut critter to fit in the frame as I'd like, so this one is stamped and colored with blends! You really need to give this one a try!

Measurements:

Lost Lagoon:: 1/4 sheet, 4 1/4" x 5" (tower), 3 1/2" x 6" (pop up)
Pool Party: 3 3/8" x 3 7/8" (pop up), 4" x 5 1/4" (back)
Mossy Meadow: 3 3/4" x 5" (back), 3 1/4" x 3 3/4" (pop up)
Timeless Plaid (N): 3" x 3 1/2" (pop up), 1/2" x 3 3/4" strip
Storybook Moments (N): 2 pcs @ 7/8" x 4 1/8" (tower), 1 1/2" x 4 1/8" (right side)
Basic White: 3" x 3 1/4" (frame), scrap

To Make This Card:

Score the "tower" piece at 1" - 2" - 3" - 4". Crease well, making all creases "mountain" folds! (This will create 5 - 1" sections).
Place Tear n Tape on last 1" section, and adhere together, making "tower". Once, formed, lay flat (it WILL lay better one direction), and place Tear n Tape on one of the other 1" sections. Remove backing, and attach to "postcard" base placing folded edge with the Tear n Tape even to cut edge.
Adhere DSP pieces to "outside" tower pieces.
Score the "pop up" piece at 1" - 2". Crease well. These are both "mountain" folds as well.
Place Tear n Tape on the last 1" section of the "pop up".
Now, pop the "tower" into place. Flatten the 2 "pop up" sections of the "pop up" piece back behind top.
Next, line up the left, cut edge of the "pop up" to the crease of the tower, as shown. lay flat, into mailing mode, and stick back piece into place.
Now, place Tear n Tape on the wrong side of the left edge, and adhere this to the "tower". And, voila!
Now, you can add the last DSP strip to the right side of the card base.
Layer all the "pop up" pieces together and add to "pop up" piece.
Die cut square "frame" from White piece. Add to "pop up" piece with Adhesive Strips.
Stamp small bunny in Memento Black. Color with Blends, and die cut with corresponding die. Add inside "frame" with Dimensionals.
Now, for the back. Layer all 3 layers together and adhere to the back. Add decorative strip of DSP, and stamp sentiment on the back.
To finish, wrap Pool Party ribbon around tower and tie in a knot. Also, scatter Antique Pearls on the inside of the frame.

Storybook Friends Circle Flip Card

So, here's another Susan Campfield design. I have done a version of this in the past, but this is just darling with the Storybook Friends and Timeless Plaid DSP combination! So many possibilities!!

Measurements:

Boho Blue:: 1/2 sheet
Basic White: 5 " x 8" (insert), 2" square (circle for greeting); scrap (label)
Timeless Plaid DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (card front); 1 1/4" x 4 3/4" (insert panel)
Storybook Moments DSP (N): small critter cut in a circle from DSP

To Make This Card:

Place adhesive only on the edges of the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Plaid DSP and adhere to the front of the folded Boho Blue card.
Using the 3rd down from the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies, cut a a circle out center of the upper portion of the card front. Because there is no adhesive in the middle, you will then get 2 die cut circles. Set this aside to be used later.
Score the White insert piece @ 2" - 3 1/2" - 5 1/2". Crease L to R as follows: "mountain fold" on 2" score line, "mountain fold" on 3 1/2" score line, and "valley fold" on 5 1/2" score line. Crease well.
Next, place DSP strip between the 2" and 3 1/2" score lines.
Place adhesive on the back of the last, largest section. Accordion fold the piece together, lining up the left cut edge of the insert so it is next to the center fold of the card base, press the back to the card.
Now, when you open the card, the right end of the insert is adhered to the inside of the card, and the left end is left lose.
Next, place adhesive to the first scored section, but ONLY around the outside edges of this piece and not along the folded edge. Close the card and press to adhere.
Close the card into place. Some of the DSP will be visible through the circle opening.
Place adhesive through the circle opening and onto the exposed DSP. Adhere the cardstock (Boho Blue) piece that was cut from the card front, through the circle opening.
Using the 4th circle die from the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies and cut one of the cute critters from the DSP. Adhere the image to the Boho Blue circle with Dimensionals.
To finish the card, die cut circle from the White square using the 4th down die. Stamp sentiment of your choice in Boho Blue ink and then mount onto DSP circle cut from front of card. Adhere to largest section of insert, across from circles on the front.
Also, die cut banner from Stylish Shapes Dies and stamp sentiment of your choice in Boho Blue ink. Adhere to front, under circles with Dimensionals.
