Christmas Window Wishes

As I've mentioned before, I love windows, and I loved detailed cards! I created this card from several I have seen. I love how it turned out! I love the feeling it evokes!! It utilizes the Gold and Rose Gold Metallic paper as well as the GORGEOUS Lights Aglow DSP. Lovse how it glimmers and shines!

Measurements:

Evening Evergreen: 1/2 sheet, scrap (tree)
Gold Specialty Paper: 3" x 4 1/2" (window frame)
Brushed Gold Foil: 2 1/2" x 3 3/4"
Lights Aglow DSP (N): 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" (wallpaper behind window)
Very Vanilla: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (1-inside, 1-outside), scrap (candles)
Mint Macaron: 3 1/4" x 3 3/4"
Cherry Cobbler: scrap (bow)
Gold Glimmer Paper (N): scrap (flames)

To Make This Card:

Run one Vanilla layer through the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing folder, then attach to folded Evening Evergreen card.
Die cut the "window frame" from Gold Specialty Paper.
Die cut the actual "window" from the Brushed Gold Foil Note: the outside edge does not get cut out, so you will either calculate the size ahead of time (which I have done for you), or trim to what you need after it is cut out. This kind of surprised me!
Now, attach the "window" to the wrong side of the "window frame".
Next, stamp "garland" in Evening Evergreen onto piece of Mint Macaron. Die cut with corresponding die. Set aside, for now.
Die cut "tree base" from Evening Evergreen. Die cut "tree detail" from remaining Mint Macaron scrap. Adhere together and place inside "window" where desired.
Next, adhere the "wallpaper" behind all. You'll need to trim the curved edges. Attach to card front.
Stamp "candles" in Cherry Cobbler onto scrap of Vanilla. Die cut with corresponding die.
Die cut "flames" from Gold Glimmer paper. Attach behind "candles", and add to "window sill" of "window".
Attach "garland" to "window". Note: I wanted as much of the pretty window to show as possible!
Die cut "bow" from Cherry Cobbler. Attach to "candles" as shown. Note: I chose to use the gorgeous bow from the Cottage Wreaths, rather than the skinny one in the window dies!
Finish with scattered Festive Pearls in red and gold! And a "star" on top of the "tree"

White Rustic Pumpkins

White pumpkins are so "in" right now. There is a beautiful "rustic/weathered" pumpkin die in the Rustic Pumpkins dies! I have seen several versions, and came up with this one!

Measurements: :

Basic Black: 1/2 sheet, 1 3/4" x 3 5/8", scrap
Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (1 for inside), 2 3/4" strip
Rustic Harvest: 1" x 4 1/4" (Mossy Meadow Print)
Mossy Meadow: scraps

To Make This Card:

Run one quarter sheet of White through Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder.
Attach this piece to folded Black card.
Take the Banners Pick a Punch and punch both ends of the Mossy Meadow Print piece. Attach to the card front, as shown.
Die cut 6 pieces of the "narrow pumpkin" die from Basic White. Layer 3 pieces, as shown, creating one pumpkin.
Die cut 2 Black "stems". Add to "pumpkins".
Attach "pumpkins" to card. The back one is flat, the front one is popped up with Dimensionals.
Die cut 3 "vines" in Mossy Meadow. Attach to "pumpkins" as shown.
Stamp and emboss ribbon sentiment in White Embossing powder. Cut out with correspondin die, and attach to card.
Finish with scattered Black Matt Dots. Attach other White quarter to inside.

Dancing Gnome

Oh my! This card is so much FUN!! At first glance, it just looks like a Gnome on a card, but give it a swing...and his legs swing back and forth!! And, the best thing, is that it's SO EASY to do!! Come find out how to make this at my class next week! Susan Campfield shared this fun technique!

Measurements: :

Real Red: 1/2 sheet, scraps
Sweetest Christmas DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (stripe), 2 1/2" x 4", scrap - hat (dots), 1" x 2 1/2" (candy canes)
Basic White: 2 pcs @ 2 1/2" x 4", scraps
Blushing Bride: scrap (nose)

To Make This Card:

Fold Real Red card base in half. Remove upper half of front. (2 3/4" is half). Keep this for the mounting piece!
Attach stripe DSP to inside of card. Attach dotty piece DSP to front flap.
Attach one White piece to Red piece you removed. Adhere bottom of this piece to front flap.
Die cut "beard" from scrap of White, die cut "nose" from Blushing Bride, die cut "feet" from Real Read, and die cut "hat" from dotty print.
To assemble the "gnome". Attach the corners of the "hat" to the imprint on the "beard" with 1/2 a glue dot. Add the "nose" with a Mini Dimensional. Set Aside.
To make the "dancing feet", cut or make a "mechanism" as shown above in the illustration. I used the Candy Cane Holder from the Candy Canes dies.
Attach the feet to the mechanism, below the opening. This is one time I used Multipurpose Glue! Set aside to dry well.
While this piece is drying, let's finish the inside.
Attach the other White piece to the wrong side of the Real Red flap.
Add small piece of DSP to bottom of the White piece. Add sentiment, if desired.
To finish the "dancing gnome", lay the "feet" onto the card flap. Place a Mini Dimensional in the opening of the mechanism.
Next, take the "face". Place Mini Dimensionals on outside points of "hat" and "hat" tip. Remove all backings and adhere over feel, so "beard" is attached to the mechanism Dimensional.
Give it a swing!! Note: if is doesn't swing, make sure there is no glue from the "feet" in the way.
Finish with scattered Red Rhinestones.

Hello Harvest Stack, Cut, & Shuffle

My awesomely creative downline, Robin Armbrecht, did a video on this concept that I had been wanting to try for some time! I used the Hello Harvest Bundle and the Rustic Harvest DSP to create these cards. This is so fun, with so many possibilities!! Grab some DSP or create your own, and get to Stacking, Cutting, and Shuffling!

Measurements: :

4 Card bases: 1/2 sheet (can be all the same or a variety)
4 Layers of Cardstock: 4" x 5 1/4" (usually all the same)
4 Layers to Cut: 3 ¾” x 5” (DSP, and/or Cardstock) This is what you’ll STACK, CUT, & SHUFFLE.

To Make This Card:

Stack all the top layers together.·
Make the first cut 1 ¼” from right side. This makes 2 “piles”.
Turn the 2 piles 90° (horizontally) and make another cut at 1 ¼” from the right side. Take care to keep the pieces in order in each pile.·
Lay stacks of pieces out the way that they will be finished on the card.·
Start with the largest piece, and leave the stack as is. Go to the stack to the left, and shuffle the top one to the bottom, go to the next stack and shuffle 2 to the bottom, go to the last stack and bring the bottom piece to the top. You’ve now accomplished “the shuffle”!!·
Start gluing the pieces to the card layers, as shown. This version, the pieces are touching each other, with a 1/8” outside border.·
Continue until all 4 layers are created.·
Next, continue with your “focal point”. Decide on your “theme” and use this for your “focal point”.·
I usually try to mount this onto a decoratively shaped “base layer”.·
Next add accents, or embellishment pieces.·
And finish with a “message”.·
Voilà you’re done!
