Watercolored Fall Leaves

I saw a version of this card that used a "watercolor" DSP for the die cut leaves from the hybrid Changing Leaves, which should be back in stock next week! I chose a piece from the new Splendid Autumn DSP and cut and embossed it. The neat thing is, you can use ANY cool DSP for this card! The background circles and card base are then selected based on the colors of your DSP!  So easy, so fun, so many possibilities!

Measurements:

  • Wild Wheat: 1/2 sheet, scrap
  • Very Vanilla: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (1 inside), scrap
  • Splendid Autumn DSP : "watercolor" piece of your choice
  • Cajun Craze: 3 1/4" square
  • Pretty Peacock: 2 3/8" square
To Make this Card
  • Emboss one piece of Vanilla with the Changing Leaves embossing folder.  Attach to folded Wild Wheat card base.
  • Emboss AND die cut the leaves from your chosen piece of "watercolor" DSP. (I did the entire piece as you can fussy cut any remaining leaves.)
  • Die cut Cajun Craze circle from the largest Stylish Shapes Dies circles.
  • Die cut a Radiating Circle from the Spotlight on Nature circle dies.
  • Now for the fun part!
  • Arrange all the pieces you have die cut onto the card front and adhere!  I did not attach all edges of the "leaves", but left some edges a little loose.  I also ended up flipping the largest leaf over because I liked that side better, and how it worked with everything!  The top-most leaf is attached with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment onto scrap of Vanilla in Cajun Craze ink.  Trim close to words.
  • Attach to scrap of Wild Wheat.
  • Finish inside with other piece of Vanilla. Cut a 1/2" strip from the embossed DSP and add to inside.
  • Finish with new Faux Glass Dots.
