Cupcake Dome

Playing this weekend with NEW stamps from the "Holiday" catalog.  My first purchases were "non holiday" stamps, as I wasn't, and still am not, ready for Holiday stamping, yet! (I have since added a few!)  So today's creation uses the versatile Sweets & Treats stamp set.  So many fun possibilities here!  I adapted a card I saw that uses the Beautifully Penned SAB DSP, colored with blends to match the fun Shaker Shapes from the Annual Catalog.  Give this one a try!

Measurements:

  • Granny Apple Green: 1/2 sheet
  • Polished Pink (N): 3 5/8" x 4 5/8"
  • Beautifully Penned DSP (N) SAB: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 3 3/8" x 4 3/8", scrap
  • Daffodil Delight: scrap
To Make This Card:

    • Fold Granny Apple Green in half.
    • Lay Polished Pink layer on top of uncolored DSP.  Check to see how much of the DSP will actually be showing, and decide on a pattern of color and just color around the out 1/4" - 3/8" edge. (why waste your time and ink coloring the entire thing???} Attach to folded Granny Apple Green card.
    • Stamp "cloche" in Memento Black ink at slightly upper center of Basic White piece. Stamp "stand" below.
    • Cut out this "dome" and set aside
    • Color "stand" with Cinnamon Cider Blends.
    • Stamp "cupcake" on removed "dome" piece.  Color with coordinating Blends as shown.
    • Lay the White piece with the opening onto Poilished Pink layer, leaving a nice 1/8" border all around.  Glue "dome" piece, through the opening. Remove the White layer.
    • Now, attach "shaker dome" to White piece by removing covering on adhesive on right side of "shaker dome".
    • Add small "pile" of shaker pieces on top of "cupcake".
    • Add adhesive to back of White layer, remove rest of covering on tape (back of "shaker dome" and carefully attach to card front, enclosing shaker pieces under dome.
    • Attach this piece to front of card with Dimensionals.
    • Tie a bow in Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon.  Attach to dome with Mini Glue Dot.
    • Stamp sentiment in Polished Pink ink onto a scrap of Basic White. Cut around, as desired.  Then mount onto Daffodil Delight scrap.  Attach to dome with Mini Glue Dot.

    SAB Pinwheel Tower Card

This is my first attempt at a Pinwheel Tower Card. My inspiration came from fellow demonstrator, Patty Bennett, and uses the FREE, SAB Dsp - Beautifully Penned,  and the FREE Summer Shadow Dies!  It is in all reality, 4 cards in one!  It did take me a while to figure this one out, but I totally enjoyed the process...and LOVE how it turned out.  Stay turned for my next, smaller creation! This one folds flat into a 5" x 7" envelope!

    Measurements

    • Polished Pink (N): 5" x 7" (base), 3 pcs @ 3 1/2" x 5" ("wings"), scraps
    • Beautifully Penned DSP (N) (SAB): 4 pcs @ 3 1/4" x 4 3/4", 4 pcs @ 2 1/4" x 4 3/4"
    • Melon Mambo: scraps
    • Granny Apple Green: scraps
    To Make This Card:

      • Score Polished Pink "base" at 1/2", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3 1/2"..Crease well. Form a "square tower" with the scored areas.  Adhere with Tear & Tape.
      • Now, take the 3 "wings" and attach to "tower" with Tear & Tape.
      • Now, it's time to decorate!!  Place the larger DSP pieces on the "wings", and the smaller DSP pieces on the left side.  Each section is created as if ma king one card, each, but with the same theme!
      • I used the coordinating Shaded Summer Stamp Set from the Annual Catalog, the Summer Shadow Dies, and an image colored with Blends and cut from the DSP. And added accents with strips of DSP, etc.
