Spinning All Aflutter

The products in our new catalog are just so awesome, as are our new InColors! This sample pairs new InColors, new stamps and new embellishments!  I also used a new product out on the market...spinners! The center butterfly actually spins!! Too much fun! And isn't the DSP just gorgeous!!

Measurements:

  • Crisp Canteloupe (N): 1/2 sheet
  • Bloom Boutique DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 3 3/8" x 4 5/8", 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" (butterflies), 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
To Make This Card:

  • Adhere DSP to folded Crisp Canteloupe card base.
  • Stamp each "branch" from the Delicate Whispers stamp set in Gray Granite ink onto right side of White layer. See image above for placement.
  • Stamp sentiment in Crisp Canteloupe ink onto White layer.
  • Adhere White layer to card front.
  • Stamp detailed butterflies from the All Aflutter stamp set in Gray Granite ink onto piece of White.  Color with Crisp Canteloupe Shimmer Brush. Punch out with coordinating All Aflutter Punch.
  • At this point I added a little Wink of Stella to the "bodies" of the butterflies
  • Add smallest butterfly to the bottom "branch" and the medium butterfly to the top.  The largest butterfly gets adhered to a "spinner" mechanism that you can find online. This version actually uses glue dots, included with the mechanisms.
  • For the inside, stamp the "branch" image in Gray Granite ink in opposite corners of the White piece for the inside.
  • Stamp another piece of White with the detailed butterflies, in Gray Granite ink. Color as before and punch out with coordinating punch.  Add 2 inside, on the stamped "branches".
  • Finish front with 2026-2028 InColor Dots, and spattered Canteloupe Shimmer Brush.

All Aflutter meets Delicate Whispers

This Delicate Dreams DSP is absolutely gorgeous!  I am just about out of it!!  It keeps going on back order!! I have a notification set so I know when it comes back in. I'll order it right away, it goes out that fast!

Karen Ksenzakovic designed this gorgeous card that uses the All Aflutter butterflies with the Delicate Whispers stamps!  Even better, it also uses 2 new InColors - Hydrangea Hue, and the returning Crisp Cantaloupe and my favorite arches dies!  We will be doing this one in class next week!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 2 pcs @ 3" x 4 1/8" (arches)
  • Hydrangea Hue (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (inside); 1 7/8" x 5 1/4"; 2 pcs @ 3 1/8" x 4 3/8" (arches)
  • Delicate Dreams DSP (OE): 3 3/4" x 5" (linen); 1 3/4" x 5" (smaller, single flower)
To Make This Card:
  • Fold White card base in half.  Cut front off at 2 1/8" (or cut off 1/2). Toss this piece.
  • Adhere inside Hydrangea Hue and "linen" DSP to inside of card.
  • Adhere other Hydrangea piece to the DSP strip to the remaining front flap.
  • Next, cut 2, 4th largest arches from the Everyday Arches Dies and the Hydrangea Hue panels.
  • Then, cut the 2 White pieces from the 5th largest arch.
  • For the front White arch, stamp sentiment, first, in Hydrangea Hue ink, and then stamp the "sprig" in Crumb Cake around it and following the curve of the arch.
  • Color the "sprig" with Old Olive and Hydrangea Hue Blends.
  • Then, stamp the "detailed" butterfly from All Aflutter in Crumb Cake ink.  Than, stamp the solid stamp in Crisp Canteloupe ink, after stamping some of the color off, first. Then, punch out with coordinating Butterfly Punch. At this point, I also added a little Wink of Stella.
  • Attach "butterflies" to "sprig" on White arch with Mini Dimensionals.
  • Now, you can attach this layer to one of the Hydrangea arches.
  • Next, you can attach half of the arch to the front flap, as shown.
  • For the inside White arch, ink up just the "thinking of you" after you mask off the "today", in Hydrangea Hue ink. Don't forget to remove the tape before you stamp it on the arch.
  • Clean the Crumb Cake ink from the detailed "butterflies" and stamp those "butterflies" around the sentiment, again, stamping off first.  You want these to be a soft peach color.
  • Adhere the White piece to the remaining Hydrangea Hue arch, and then line it up behind the front arches, and adhere to the inside.
  • Finish the front with Crisp Canteloupe Flat Pearls and a coordinating butterfly embellishment.
