Pumpkin Patch Dutch Gate Fold

Oh, my!  I was looking for inspiration for my club next week, using the MASKS from the Pumpkin Pumpkins Bundle. This one was just posted!  It's a Dutch Gate Fold card, using the "gates" dies from this bundle, AND the "masked" pumpkins! This idea comes from the ladies at Stamping Before Anything Else! We WILL be doing this in club next Saturday!  Those "masks" are too much fun!!  LOVE the results!

Measurements:

  • Cajun Craze: 4 1/4" x 8 3/4" (base), 2 1/4" x 8 1/2" (gate)
  • Petal Pink: 2 pcs @ 3 1/4" x 3 1/2"
  • Painted Patch DSP (N): 3" x 4" (sm pumpkins)
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), 1/4 sheet (pumpkins), scrap
  • Secret Sea: scraps
To Make this Card:

  • Score base @ 5 1/2". Crease well and adhere DSP to top flap.
  • Then, add White layer to "inside".
  • Score "gate" on one side @ 2 1/8".  Lay base onto the "gate" with the left cut edge against the score line.  Then, wrap the other side of the "gate" around to the front, so it fits! (Real scientific, huh!)
  • Now, adhere the center of the "gates" to the back of the "base". Set this aside.
  • Next, take the #1 mask. Mark the notch on your scrap paper, and then adhere to 1/4 sheet of White with removeable tape.
  • Burnish Petal Pink ink onto mask #1 with Blending Brush.  For this one, I used a large Blending Brush.
  • Remove that mask, and line up mask #2. This one is Calypso Coral Ink.  I used a large Blending Brush.
  • Remove that mask, and line up mask #3. This one is Cajun Craze ink. Again, I used a large Blending Brush.
  • The last mask we will use for the pumpkings is #4. For this one, you will use Secret Sea ink with a SMALLER Blending Brush! Tada!  The pumpkins are done!
  • Take the 2 coordinating dies and cut these out.  I only used 4 of the 6 pumpkins.  Set this aside.
  • Now, for the "gates". Die cut 2 "gate" pieces from the 2 Petal Pink pieces.
  • Take your Detailed Scissors (i.e. Paper Snips), and remove the "outter post".
  • Carefully, glue the "gates" to the front flaps.  Start at the fold and work your way to the center crease. DO NOT place glue on the center "board". The gate WILL EXTEND above the flaps.  Repeat for the other side.  This overlaps left to right.
  • Next, die cut the "details" for the "gate" from Secret Sea scrap.
  • Adhere the "hinges" to the gates, wait for the "handles" until the pumpkins are glued.
  • Now, add 2 pumpkins to the front gate, and one to the back.  Now, you can add the "handles".
  • Open the "gates" and add one of the larger pumpkins to the inside.
  • Next, cut a "label" from the Sweet Words and Labels dies.  Stamp sentiment in Secret Sea ink.  Add to front with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with a knot of Calypso Coral Ribbon (N). I also added small Coral Painted Patch dots to the "hinges" and scattered onto the label.
