Becky's Stampin' Studio: Winter Adventure Surprise Pop-Up Card

Another unassuming card with a fun surprise inside! This is also a version from Frenchie, but with my own twist to it! I just love this bundle from the Online Exclusives, that will take us from Christmas into Winter!! And, it uses one of my favorite InColors - Peaceful Pine!

Measurements:

Peaceful Pine (N): 1/2 sheet, 1 1/2" x 5" (mechanism), 5/8" x 3" (label)
Basic Black: 4" x 5 1/4" (front), 3 1/2" x 4" (inside die cut), 2" x 3" (die cut trees)
Basic Beige: 4" x 4 1/4" (inside), 2" x 3" (die cut trees)
Crumb Cake:3" x 3 1/2" (snow shoes)
Alpine Winter DSP (N) (OE): 3 3/4" x 5" (Peaceful Pine w/ trees), 1 3/8" strip (Peaceful Pine Buffalo Check)

To Make This Card:

Let's create the Pop Up Mechanism first.
Take the 1 1/2" x 5" mechanism piece and score @ 1/2" the full length of the strip.
Along that score line, measure in 1" from the left edge and make a mark (see above).
Along the top edge, measure in 2" from the left edge and make a mark.
From the top-left corner, score a diagonal line down to the 1" mark.
From the 2" mark at the top, score a daigonal line down to that same, 1" mark. These two diagonals form a "V" meeting at the point on the score line.
Cut off the bottom-left corner (see above) - the small rectangle below the score line and to the left of the 1" mark. (Shown in purple above).
Fold along the scored lines: the "V" folds inward, creating the pop-up mechanism.
To create the pop-up inside, place adhesive onto the outside "triangle", with this space folded up. Adhere to "inside" of card with the "side" edge following the top edge of the inside of the card, and the "top" edge of the strip following the center crease of the card.
Next, place adhesive on the long 1/2" edge. Close card, with angles into place and 1/2" strip will adhere to the inside back of the card.
Voila! Check to make sure the "mechanism" pops.
To finish the rest of the inside, Die cut the "Scenic Frame" from the Winter Adventure Dies in Basic Black, as well as the 2 trees. The "Scenic Frame" can be "embossed" with the Impressions Plate. It really looks a lot better!
I added Wink of Stella to all the "trees".
Next, die cut 2 "Snow Shoes" also from the Winter Adventure Dies in Crumb Cake.
Let's "arrange" these pieces. Overlap the 2 "Snow Shoes" as shown.
I, then, added color to the retired Black & White Gingham Ribbon with a Lt Peaceful Pine Blend, and then tied a small piece around the "Snow Shoes", then add this piece to the "frame", as shown.
Next, center on the flip up and adhere. Also add the larger Black tree.
The Basic Beige piece gets adhered below. Stamp sentiment in Basic Black ink.
On the inside left side, I added a 1 3/8" x 5 1/2" strip of Peaceful Pine Buffalo Plaid DSP, along with the Small Tree.
The inside is done! Now, for the outside!
Attach Basic Black layer to the front, along with the DSP.
Next, add a 1 3/8" x 3 7/8" strip of Peaceful Pine Buffalo Plaid DSP to the front.
Die cut 2 trees from Basic Beige. Add Wink of Stella and adhere over DSP piece, as shown.
Now, emboss sentiment in Black Embossing Powder onto strip of Peaceful Pine. Add to card front with Dimensionals, as shown.
To finish the front, I added another colored Gingham knot near the sentiment, and scattered new, Snowflakes Gems.
For the inside, I added 2 black Neutral Dots.
