Becky's Stampin' Studio: Surprise Inside Pop Up

From the outside, this card just looks like a nice, ordinary card! But, open it up, and there is an awesome surprise inside! To say nothing that it uses the gorgeous Sunflower Fields DSP, just perfect for the fall season! It isn't as hard as it looks! You just need to make sure the mechanism is folded right! This particular design was created by Frenchie.

Measurements:

Golden Glow (N): 1/2 sheet, 1 1/2" x 5" (mechanism)
Secret Sea: 4" x 5 1/4" (front), 4" square (pop up), 1" x 4" (front strip)
Very Vanilla: 4" x 4 1/4" (inside), 5/8" x 2 1/2" (sentiment)
Sunflower Fields DSP (N): 3 3/4" x 5", 3 3/4" square) (Golden Glow Sunflowers), 1 1/4" x 5 1/2", and 3/4" x 4" (Light Golden Glow print)

To Make This Card:

Let's create the Pop Up Mechanism first.
Take the 1 1/2" x 5" mechanism piece and score @ 1/2" the full length of the strip.
Along that score line, measure in 1" from the left edge and make a mark (see above).
Along the top edge, measure in 2" from the left edge and make a mark.
From the top-left corner, score a diagonal line down to the 1" mark.
From the 2" mark at the top, score a daigonal line down to that same, 1" mark. These two diagonals form a "V" meeting at the point on the score line.
Cut off the bottom-left corner (see above) - the small rectangle below the score line and to the left of the 1" mark. (Shown in purple above).
Fold along the scored lines: the "V" folds inward, creating the pop-up mechanism.
To create the pop-up inside, place adhesive onto the outside "triangle", with this space folded up. Adhere to "inside" of card with the "side" edge following the top edge of the inside of the card, and the "top" edge of the strip following the center crease of the card.
Next, place adhesive on the long 1/2" edge. Close card, with angles into place and 1/2" strip will adhere to the inside back of the card.
Voila! Check to make sure the "mechanism" pops.
To finish the rest of the inside, adhere the Secret Sea piece to the flipped up long area. Note: don't adhere it to close the the center fold of the card.
Then, add the DSP piece to the square.
The Vanilla piece gets adhered below, and I added a die cut "sunflower" to the bottom edge.
On the inside left side, I added a contrasting, but coordinating piece of DSP.
Now, for the front. Adhere the Secret Sea layer. To that, add the DSP.
Then adhere the DSP strip to the Secret Sea strip.
Tie a Secret Sea bow around this piece, and adhere to the center of the card front.
Finish the front with sentiment stamped in Secret Sea ink, and place onto strip. And scattered Secret Sea Gems.
