Apple Harvest Corner Angle Flip Card + video

Happy September!! While today we can only dream of cooler weather, hot apple cider and changing leaves, this card reminds us of the yummy apple treats that are to come!  This is a card that my Mom spotted somewhere!  Glad she did because I never did see it!  It uses the new Apple Harvest stamp set and just released TODAY Apple Blossom Dies and a fold I haven't done in a while - a Corner Angle Flip. I'll attach the video I did back in 2021.

Measurements:

  • Poppy Parade: 1/2 Sheet
  • Basic White:4" x 5 1/4", 1/4 sheet (for apples), scraps (sentiments, corner pattern),
  • Rings of Love SAB DSP (ret): 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Brights 6x6 Paper Pack (N): 3 1/2" square
To Make This Card: (see video)

  • Begin by making the corner "template". Take a scrap of Basic White, Measure along one side 2 3/4" and place a mark.  Then, measure along another side to 3 1/2" and make a mark.  Draw a line with a pencil, connecting the 2 marks. Cut along this line.  Save the triangle for a pattern (Istill had mine), and discard the rest of the piece.
  • Fold card base in half. Place "template" along upper left corner of card. Score along "pencil" line with Bone Folder.  It should lightly transfer to the back side.  Flip card front over and repeat for the back side. Now, carefully fold along score lines, inverting the corner to the inside of card.
  • Take one of the DSP pieces and lay inside the card, leaving an 1/8" border.  Mark the score line and trim this piece.  Trim approx 1/8" from the cut edge.  Check for fit, and attach. Repeat for the upper side, if desired.  Measure each time, as each card and side is different!
  • Take the small corner you just removed, and start with it to cut the other DSP for the upper triangle. Attach to either side of small triangles. The inside layering is done!
  • To layer the outside, repeat the fitting of the front White piece as you did with the inside, DSP pieces. Using the scored/folded edge as a guide to cut your layer.  Always allowing for an 1/8" border!!  Run this piece through the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder.
  • Stamp the 2 different Apple images in Memento Black onto White quarter. Color with Blends as shown and cut out with new, coordinating fdies!
  • I added a little Wink of Stella to the Apple Blossoms.
  • Attach the trio of apples to the front.
  • Stamp sentiment on scrap of White in Poppy Parade.  Fussy cut and attach to card front.
  • For the inside apples, attach these to the bottom corner fold, making sure it doesn't get caught in the creases.
  • Stamp sentiment in Popply Parade and cut out with long label in the new Apple Blossom Dies. Attach to the inside of card.
  • Finish with scattered Red Rhinestones on the front of card.
  • These cards are tough to keep closed, so I added a clear velcro dot inside to help with that.

Hanging Plant Center Pop Up Card + Video

Here is the sample, using the Hanging Plant from the Plentiful Plants Bundle, that I made in my video yesterday.  The only differences from my "original" version is the Hanging Plant, stamped plants & pot, and designer cut die for the back...  I don't know which version I like better!

Measurements:

  • Cinnamon Cider: 1/4 sheet (card base), 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" (Center Mechanism)
  • Bloom Where You Are Planted DSP: 4" x 5 1/4" (Brick), 3 3/4" x 4" (Wood Grain), plants
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", scraps
  • Crumb Cake: 1 3/4" x 4"
  • Window Sheet: 2 1/4" x 3 5/8"
To Make This Card:
  • Attach the "brick" DSP to the Cinnamon Cider quarter.  Set aside.
  • Score the Center Mechanism along the 9 1/2" side at: 1/2", 1 1/4", 2", 2 3/4", 6 3/4", 7 1/2", 8 1/4" and 9". Lightly crease the ends, creating "columns".
  • Take the largest Stitched Rectangle Die that will fit on the "wood grain" DSP and cut  out the opening. Discard the center.
  • Adhere the DSP with the cut opening onto the center 4" section of the Center piece. ( did use Multipurpose Liquid Glue for this!)
  • Now, cut a smaller opening with the next, smaller size Stitched Rectangle Die. This creates a nice "frame".
  • Place 1/8" Tear n Tape around the opening on the wrong side.  Attach Window Sheet.
  • Place 1/4" Tear n Tape on each end of the "mechanism" (1/2" piece).
  • Skip one scored section on the "mechanism" and then place 2 rows of 1/4" Tear n Tape on the next section.
  • Remove backing on 1/2" section.and fold into place (see video).
  • Next, remove backing on next section.  Take "base" with "bricks" on it.  Flatten the Center section one direction (right or left). Match folded edge to cut edge of "base" and adhere.
  • Now, flatten the other direction, match the folded edge to cut edge of other side of "base" and adhere.
  • Voila! You have a Pop Up Center!!
  • Now you need to finish decorating the front!!  I stamped a "pot" in Cinnamon Cider and 2 different "plants", one in Garden Green & one in Just Jade and cut them out from the coordinating dies.  Also cut a "macrame hanger" from Crumb Cake.
  •  Assemble all together and attach to front over Window Sheet. I did thread a Linen Thread through the "hole" for a "hanger" and taped it to the back.
  • Add sentiment to front, if desired.
  • To finish the card, cut out a designer "label" from the White piece. Stamp the back if desired.  This is where you write your message and sign your card.  Attach to back "base".

Mango Tulip Modified Cut Apart Card + Video

Here is the version of the Modified Cut Apart Card that I did for my Friday Video this week! It still uses the Flowerin Rain Boots bundle but, instead, I used the Flowering Fields DSP for the paper (duh)!  I love how it turned out.  Be sure to check out my corresponding video on YouTube.

Measurements:

  • Mango Melody: 4 1/4" x 10", 2 3/4" x 4"
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", 2" x 3 1/4", scraps
  • Flowering Fields DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 2" x 4"
To Make this Card:

  • Score Mango base at 2 1/4" from each end. Attach DSP strips.
  • Attach While layer to inside
  • Cut Stitched Scallop Rectangle from Mango Melody piece.
  • Stamp 2 "flower pots" in Basic Gray, stamp "stems" in Soft Succulent, and stamp your flowers in Mango Melody.  Cut out with corresponding dies.
  • Cut "stems" apart.  You can tell where you need to cut. Cut the "flowers" apart in the same place.
  • Attach "stems" to "flower pot" and "tulips" to "stems".
  • Attach to Scallop Rectangle with Dimensionals.
  • Close card, and lay rectangle in place.  Attach upper portion to top of card. (You might need to close with a Clear Velcro Dot.)
  • Add other pot, trimmed, smaller stem and flowers to inside. BE SURE YOU CAN'T SEE IT WHEN THE CARD IS CLOSED.
  • Finish with scattered Rhinestones. (I used the retiring Holiday ones)
