Scenic Autumn Diagonal Panoramic Card

I was needing a fold using the Splendid Autumn Suite for club this week. I had seen a few of these Diagonal Panoramic cards, and decided to give it a try with our Scenic Autumn DSP coming out soon in our Winter Mini Catalog. I just LOVE how it turned out!  It was so much fun, I tried another one with the Perennial Lavender DSP - so stay tuned!  With 6x6 scenic paper, you will need 2 sheets.

Measurements:

  • Crushed Curry: 1/2 sheet, 4 3/4" x 8", scrap
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scrap
  • Copper Clay: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Scenic Autumn DSP: 2 pcs Black Eyed Susans
To Make This Card:
  • Score 4 3/4" x 8" every 2".
  • Place a pencil mark 2" from the bottom on the right side of this piece.
  • Diagonally cut from upper left side to pencil mark.  Toss the top part.
  • Now, to cut the DSP for this diagonal piece. (This is actually pretty neat use of both 6x6 pieces!) Your piece needs to measure 4 3/4" x 7 1/2". (And, the DSP is 6".) So, cut one piece 4 3/4" x 5 5/8". Take the other piece and trim off 1 7/8" from the right side. (Save the larger piece for the front of the card).
  • Temporarily attach this piece to the right end of the 5 5/8" piece, loosely matching up the pattern. Trim both ends equal with larger piece.
  • Next, make a pencil mark 1/4" from upper left edge. And, make another pencil mark UP 1 7/8" from lower right corner.  Cut diagonally between pencil marks. Set top part of DSP aside.  You will not need this.
  • And, lastly, remove the 1 7/8" piece from the far right side. Then, take the larger piece and cut into 3-1 7/8" strips.
  • Now, match and adhere these 4 pieces to the panels of the diagonal base, keeping the panoramic view intact.  This piece is done.
  • Back to the card base. Adhere the Vanilla piece to the inside.
  • Run the Copper Clay piece through the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to other inside area.
  • Next, take the remaining Daisy DSP and trim to 4" x 5 1/4".  Run this through the Distressed 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to front of card.
  • Now, let's attach the diagonal piece to the inside!  Place Tear n Tape on the 2 outside panels of the diagonal piece. Line up the center score line with the center of the card base, leaving an 1/8" edge above layers, and adhere either end to card base.
  • Let's finish this up. Die cut Crushed Curry label from Unbounded Love Dies. Stamp sentiment in Copper Clay onto scrap of Vanilla and die cut to corresponding layer. Attach to label base with Dimensionals, than add to card front.
  • For the inside, stamp sentiment in Copper Clay. I added some Crushed Curry Daisies from the Cheerful Daisy stamps. I added centers with the Copper Clay Stampin' Write Marker.
  • Finish with scattered Metallic Dots on the front, and Brass Butterflies on the inside.

Diagonal Split Pocket Gift Card Holder

I saw this awesome card/gift card holder, and then found out it was shared by my downline, Robin Armbrecht! This one is created with one of our Notecards/Envelopes, so it is smaller, but I hope to try it in a "normal" size as well, as it doesn't have to be a gift card holder.  Notice that the stamped daisy holds the top flap in place!  So cute, so many possibilities!

Measurements:

  • Note Cards & Envelopes
  • Fresh As a Daisy (N): 3 1/2" x 5" (card), 2" x 5 1/8" (envelope flap)
  • Wild Wheat (N): scrap
  • Lemon Lolly (N): scrap
  • Basic White: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Adhere DSP to front of Note Card.
  • Card front of card diagonally.  You can use any dimensions you'd like, but I measured down 2 1/2" from the top, right corner, and up 1 1/4" from lower, left fold. It's not easy to see your markings. I cut from the White side, or draw a pencil line to follow.
  • Next, make the gift card "pocket", by attaching the lower portion of your card to the inside with 1/8" Tear & Tape. Just tape the bottom and outside edges, leaving the top loose for a gift card, check or cash!
  • Now, let's decorate the front. You'll need to decide on a "theme"/"focal" point.  The stamped/die cut daisy holds the front circles into place!
  • For mine, I punched a 2" circle (Online Exclusives) from Wild Wheat scrap and Lemon Lolly from 1 3/4" circle punch (Online Exclusives) .
  • Stamp sentiment of your choice in Early Expresso onto Lemon Lolly. Attach the 2 circles together.
  • Attach the circles with Dimensionals, so that the lower 1/3 of the circle is below the cut edge of the top layer.
  • Stamp "daisy" in black, as well as the "stem". Cut out with coordinating dies. Stamp "leaf" in Garden Green, die cut this one as well.
  • Attach the "daisy" over the circles, with a Dimensional.  Tuck stem underneath (you'll need to trim even with the Note Card), and attach "leaf".
  • Finish with a loop of Pebbled Path ribbon, and Glossy Dots.
  • Stamp desired sentiment inside.

Cheerful Daisies Pocket Card

Let's take a break from Carousel Horses and look at a card I made my aunt for her birthday! I just loved the colors and composition of this card! It uses the Cheerful Daisies Bundle.  The inspiration came from demonstrator, Jennie Stark, Enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Crushed Curry: 4 1/4" x 11", 2 3/4" x 4"
  • Garden Green: 4" x 5 1/4", 3" x 3 3/4" (cut diagonally), 1/4" x 4" (inside)
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), 3 3/4" x 5" (outside), 2 1/2" x 3 3/4", scraps
  • Fresh as a Daisy DSP (N): 3" x 3 3/4" (cut diagonally), 3/4" x 4" (inside)
To Make This Card:
  • Attach Garden Green layer to folded Crushed Curry Card. (for Marcia's, I just made this a "postcard" layer.)
  • Run White piece through Stitched with Whimsy die.  Then, attach to card front.
  • Diagonally cut the 2 pieces for the "pocket".  Save the other halves for another card!
  • Run the Garden Green piece through the Elegant Eucalyptus Embossing Folder.
  • Place 1/8" Tear n Tape along shorter, corner edges of diagonally pieces.  Attach the Green first, and then the DSP over as shown. Lining up the edges with the edges of the White layer.
  • For the pocket card, (this version is just a piece - Marcia's was a folded 2 3/4" x 8" card). Stamp the stem from the Sending Smiles Daisy in Garden Green, onto the white piece.
  • Die cut 2 pieces of the partial Daisy, leaving the pieces together! (I used a piece of Scotch Tape).  Stamp the center in Early Espresso ink, and then add a die cut center of Crushed Curry. Then add over top stem with a Dimensional.
  • Next, stamp the 3 flowers in Crushed Curry ink.  Die cut with corresponding die.  Color in centers with Early Espresso marker.  Attach to remaining stem with Dimensionals.
  • Now, attach this piece to the Crushed Curry layer.
  • Before I added this piece to the "pocket" I stamped a sentiment in Crushed Curry, that would be hidden by insert.
  • If using a full card, finish the inside with a White pieces and papers as shown.
  • Lastly, I added a retired Bumble Bee Trinket, and a Crushed Curry Bow.
