Nature's Harvest Negative Image

I saw a version of this card that took the "negative image" from a die cut and used it in a card! We usually use the die cut, and toss the "waste", but this card uses the "waste" for the card! (I put the die cut inside!)  For this card, I used the returning Harvest Dies with the retiring Harvest Meadow DSP. I do like how it turned out.  I'll be looking at my dies differently in the future!

Measurements:

  • Soft Succulent: 1/2 sheet
  • Harvest Meadow DSP: 4" x 5 1/4" (soft succulent print), 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" (coral print)
  • Basic White: 2 3/8" x 4 7/8"
To Make This Card:
  • Attach DSP to folded Soft Succulent card.
  • Cut desired die from White piece.  Save the die cut, and run the "negative" through the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.
  • Attach this piece to the Coral DSP. If using the "thistle" be extremely careful with the details.  You might want to use the Multipurpose Glue and a sponge dauber for this.
  • Attach this piece to card where desired. I chose the center, but offset to the left would be nice, too.
  • Finish with a bow of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon and Pearls.

Nature's Harvest Vertical Book Binder

I saw a similar version of the Book Binder card using the Nature's Harvest, but orienting it vertically!!  Love these fall colors.  I also used our new Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder, and highlighted it with our Blending Brushes.

Measurements:

  • Cajun Craze: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 4", 2 3/4" x 4"
  • Old Olive: 2" x 4 3/4"
  • Beauty of the Earth: 1 1/8" x 4"

To Make This Card:

  • Fold Cajun Craze card base in half.  Score at 1 1/4" from fold, front side only.  Crease the front back well. Place adhesive under this 1 1/4" and glue front and back together.
  • Attach DSP strip to this TOP side.
  • Run one 4" x 4" White square through the Embossing Folder.  Highlight with Cajun Craze and a Blending Brush.  Attach to front of card.
  • Stamp "coneflowers" in Memento Black.  Color with Blends as shown. Cut out with corresponding die.
  • Cut "cattails" from Old Olive cardstock. Adhere these to the card as shown.  You willl probably need to trim the stems to fit.
  • Then, attach the "flowers" to the card with dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze. Cut out with long, label die in the Harvest Dies.  Attach to top DSP.
  • Finish with scattered gold Metallic Pearls.

Monochromatic in Blue Nature's Harvest

I love this monochromatic card in Misty Moonlight! I forget about making a "frame" as an element for a card!  I just love this entire composition!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 3 3/4" x 5", 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" (flowers), 2" x 5" (cattails)
  • Pattern Party DSP (host): 4" x 5 1/4" Misty Moonlight piece
  • Misty Moolight: 2" x 5" (cattails), 1" x 4 1/4" (sentiment)
To Make this Card:

  • Attach DSP to folded card.
  • Cut White "frame" using 2 stitched rectangle dies.  Use the "center" to stamp the "coneflowers" in Misty Moonlight.  Cut out with corresponding die.
  • Attach the "frame" to the card front with Adhesive Strips.
  • Cut out "cattails" from both White and Misty Moonlight. (I placed the White offset behind the Misty Moonlight ones, otherwise, they got "lost" in the background.)
  • Arrange the "cattails" first, then add the "coneflowers" with Dimentionals.
  • Stamp and emboss the sentiment in White Embossing Powder.  Cut with long die in die set.
  • Wind Misty Moonlight & silver bakers twine (ret) behind sentiment, then attach to card at the side for the frames.
