Pierced Blooms

What a delightful find in the Pierced Blooms Dies, well the In Bloom Bundle in general!  Did you catch this in the new January-June Mini Catalog?  I totally missed it. Not only is it awesome when paired with the Paper Blooms DSP in the SAB catalog, but it stands alone so beautifully as well!  This card was CASED from one of my favorite demos from Australia, Gail Ellis.  I did add my own touch with the Soft Seafoam leaves and Pearl accents!  B e sure to give this bundle a look-see!  Enjoy!

Paper Blooms Meets In Bloom Bundle

I decided to purchase the In Bloom Bundle that coordinates with the gorgeous Paper Blooms DSP in the SAB brochure. I just didn't have anything that I thought did it justice, and this is the Bundle that it was designed to be used with. (There is an error in your SAB Brochure) I wanted to share how to use the sheet of DSP with the circles. Yes, you can use it as is, but it is really designed for you to use the Pierced Blooms Dies to cut out the flowers, that are then beautifully shaded! You can also use the Pierced Blooms Dies to cut out the individual flowers and leaves!  I have also paired it with a piece of the Rococo Rose Ombre DSP, also in the SAB Brochure. Be sure to check out these first SAB offerings.  They are only available until Feb 28!!

Measurements:

  • Whisper White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Night of Navy: 4 1/4" square, 1" x 3 1/4" strip
  • Rococo Rose Ombre DSP: 3 1/4" x 4 7/8"
  • Paper Blooms DSP: "circles", matching flower
To Make This Card

  • Fold Whisper White card in half. (The fold will be on the left!!)
  • Attach Night of Navy piece in the center.  Center the Rococo Rose Ombre DSP over.
  • Cut 2 "Stitched Blooms".  One from a Navy "circle", and one from a Rococo Rose circle. Then cut one flower (I cut a Petal Pink Bloom from the "Bloom" DSP).
  • Cut various "leaves" from the Soft Seafoam and Old Olive "circles".  I cut several and then figured out what I wanted to use later.
  • Cut 2 flower "centers" and 3 small "flowers" from Navy "circles". Attach the "centers" to the 2 cut flowers.
  • Emboss sentiment in White Embossing Powder.  Cut a "flag" at the end.
  • Now, you are ready to start arranging them on your card. I started with the sentiment, and worked from there. Add the 2 "solid" flowers first.  Add the "detailed flower" over all with a Dimensional.  Finish by adhering "leaves" where desired.
  • Finish with Clear Droplets or Rhinestones.

Blackberry Bliss Touch of Ink

Demonstrator Carol Payne designed several of these cards using the Oh So Ombre DSP and Touch of Ink SAB Stamp Set!  She made several with the Tailored Tag Punch, and several with the new Ovals Punch.  I chose the Tailored Tag version, and added my own touch of coloring with the Blackberry Ink from the stamped image and a little Wink of Stella. You could easily make an entire set of these cards in all the colors!

Measurements:

  • Blackberry Bliss: 1/2 sheet, 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" (tags)
  • Whisper White: 1/4 sheet
  • Oh, So Ombre DSP (N): 1 3/4" x 4" (ombre), 2 pcs 1 3/4" x 4" (circles)
To Make This Card:

  • Adhere the 3 pieces of Ombre DSP to folded card.  Note: I started with 1 3/4" strips and decided where I wanted to make the 4" cut.  The middle piece is the Ombre, and the Top and Bottom are the "circles".  I had the light to one side with the "circles", and the opposite side of the "ombre". I cut the pieces somewhat in the center of the strip.  Neither all dark, or all light.
  • Stamp the 3 images in Blackberry Bliss onto the piece of white. Center Punch (or die) over the part of the image you wish to use. Color with Blackberry Ink and a Blender Pen. Note: If you image is still pretty moist, or you stamp and color one at a time, you should be able to just pull some of the color from the stamped image!
  • Punch 3 coorinating layers.  To layer with the punched images, cut the punches in half lengthwise and adhere them to the back of the images leaving and 1/8" border.
  • Attach to the punched pieces to your card with Dimensionals as shown.
  • Add sentiment of your choice in coordinating ink.
  • Finish with a little Wink of Stella and Rhinestones.
