Pieced Triangle Card

I saw, and tried, this card during SAB and never got it quite right.  Jeanette Cobb finally posted a video, now I know why.... I was leaving the triangles whole....you add them to a base, and trim off the extra!!  Really easy, and very rewarding!  I made, and sent, 5 as Sympathy Cards for our church card ministry. Love the look of the Ombre DSP.  If you try this, I would recommend a DSP with no "direction"! Too much fun!!  Give it a try!

Measurements:

  • Basic White:1/2 sheet, 2" x 3"
  • Rococo Rose: 4" x 5 1/4", 3 3/4" x 5", 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • Oh So Ombre DSP (ret): 2 pcs - 6" x 6"

To Make This Card:

  • Score 3 3/4" x 5" piece in half at 1 7/8" and 2 1/2".  You will use these score lines for placement.
  • Cut the 2 - 6" x 6" DSP pieces in halves, creating 8 - 3" x 3" squares. This will make 2 cards!  Separate into 2 3" squares of each pattern.
  • Take the 4 that you are using for this card, and cut diagonally.
  • Now, take one of the first pattern triangles.  Attach adhesive to the point end of the DSP.  Attach to the smaller base along the score line - 1/16" away, with the point to the center. (see pix for placement).
  • Now, take one of the other triangles.  Repeat with adhesive, and attach to base as shown, with the point at the center as shown.  Repeat for the other 3 areas.
  • Now, flip this piece over, and trim off excess DSP. Trimming next to cardstock base.  Toss these pieces!
  • Attach this decorative piece to the corresponding "quarter" - which will complete the 1/8" border around it all!  So clever!!
  • Then, attach to folded White Card.
  • Finish by decorating the center, to hide the points, that may not entirely match!
  • I stamped my desired greeting in the corresponding ink.  Then, punched the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch.  Mounted it onto a piece of Rococo Rose. Attach to center of card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with pearls in the corner and a bow.  I colored the Silver Trimmed Ribbon with the Lt Rococo Rose Blend. (it fades beautifully...wait for it!)

Blackberry Bliss Touch of Ink

Demonstrator Carol Payne designed several of these cards using the Oh So Ombre DSP and Touch of Ink SAB Stamp Set!  She made several with the Tailored Tag Punch, and several with the new Ovals Punch.  I chose the Tailored Tag version, and added my own touch of coloring with the Blackberry Ink from the stamped image and a little Wink of Stella. You could easily make an entire set of these cards in all the colors!

Measurements:

  • Blackberry Bliss: 1/2 sheet, 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" (tags)
  • Whisper White: 1/4 sheet
  • Oh, So Ombre DSP (N): 1 3/4" x 4" (ombre), 2 pcs 1 3/4" x 4" (circles)
To Make This Card:

  • Adhere the 3 pieces of Ombre DSP to folded card.  Note: I started with 1 3/4" strips and decided where I wanted to make the 4" cut.  The middle piece is the Ombre, and the Top and Bottom are the "circles".  I had the light to one side with the "circles", and the opposite side of the "ombre". I cut the pieces somewhat in the center of the strip.  Neither all dark, or all light.
  • Stamp the 3 images in Blackberry Bliss onto the piece of white. Center Punch (or die) over the part of the image you wish to use. Color with Blackberry Ink and a Blender Pen. Note: If you image is still pretty moist, or you stamp and color one at a time, you should be able to just pull some of the color from the stamped image!
  • Punch 3 coorinating layers.  To layer with the punched images, cut the punches in half lengthwise and adhere them to the back of the images leaving and 1/8" border.
  • Attach to the punched pieces to your card with Dimensionals as shown.
  • Add sentiment of your choice in coordinating ink.
  • Finish with a little Wink of Stella and Rhinestones.

Ombre Slimline

I haven't played with this fabulous SAB option - Touch of Ink. So, I pulled it out today. It really has a lot of potential, with some awesome sentiments. I got my inspiration from a card I saw on Pinterest which must be HUGE, as I had to pare this down quite a bit.  I added some colored rhinestones for a little glimmer.  We actually have Blends in each of the Oh So Ombre DSP colors!!

Measurements:

  • Granny Apple Green : 7 3/4" x 8 1/2", 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"
  • Whisper White: 3 5/8" x 8 1/4", 1 1/8" x 3"
  • Blackberry Bliss: 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"
  • Rococo Rose: 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"
  • Bermuda Bay: 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"
  • Oh, So Ombre (N): 1 each color - 1 3/4" x 3 1/8"
To Make This Card:

  • Score Granny Apple Card at 3 3/4".  Crease well with Bone Folder.  Attach Whisper White layer.
  • Stamp each image in the coordinating color of ink.  Note: After I stamped the first image, I lined up the next piece of DSP along side of it, so the "ombre" tones fairly match up all the way across.  To do this, I left the length of the DSP and trimmed it to 3 1/8" after stamping.
  • Adhere each Ombre DSP piece to its' coordinating solid cardstock. Attach to card front.
  • Stamp sentiment in Black Ink onto scrap of Whisper White.  Cut out with die from Ornate Frames. Attach to card front with Dimensionals.
  • Color 1 Medium and 2 Small Rhinestones in Dk Blend.  Let dry and add another layer.  Attach to card where desired.
  • Finish with Black Matt Dots onto sentiment label.
