Springtime Scenes Floating Cut Out Card

I found this fun card using the new Springtime Scenes Bundle. It's an oldie but goodie fun fold that I haven't done in ages! I don't think it was called a "Floating Cut Out" card, but I honestly don't remember what it was called! This version was designed by Heidi Collins, and uses the stamps from the Springtime Scenes Stamps and the DSP from the Homemade Sweetness DSP, all in the Online Store.

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 3" square (stamped circle), 3/4" x 3" (mechanism), scrap
  • Homemade Sweetness DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (Ladybug print)
  • Strawberry Slush: 3 1/4" square
To Make This Card:

  • Adhere DSP to folded White card base with Multipurpose Glue.
  • Die cut largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies, through all layers of front.  Also cut one large circle from Strawberry Slush cardstock.
  • Die cut circle from Springtime Scenes circles.
  • Stamp "grass" in Garden Green and Granny Apple Green ink. Stamp sentiment in black ink, as shown.
  • Stamp "ladybug" in black ink and color with Blends.  Die cut with corresponding die.  Also, die cut 3 small, white flowers.
  • Let's assemble the circle Focal Point. First, attach White circle to Strawberry Slush layer. Add "ladybug" to "grass" with a Dimensional. Then add 3 flowers.
  • Now, to add the "mechanism".
  • Score the small piece, along the 3" side @ 3/4" - 1 1/2" - 2 1/4". Crease well with "mountain" folds
  • Fold this piece in half, so cut edges meet.  Place Tear n Tape on the end sections of the "top" and the "bottom". Center the "mechanism" inside the card, with the cut edges even with the crease in the card.
  • Lastly, close card. Place adhesive onto the exposed mechanism and insert circle through opening and attach to "mechanism.
  • Finish with small Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls.
