I was looking for inspiration for the use of our White, Luxe resist paper that coordinates with the Valley in Bloom Suite. I found this layout that used the Valleys in Bloom DSP, and just switched it out for the gorgeous resist paper! I just LOVE it! This is the other card we will be doing in Club next weekend!
Measurements:
- Granny Apple Green: 4 1/4" x 8" (base), 1 3/4" x 4 1/4" (bottom), scraps (die cut flowers)
- Coastal Cabana: 2 1/4" x 4" (top), 1 1/2" x 4" (bottom), 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
- Pretty Peacock: 2" x 3 1/2"
- Lemon Lime Twist: 1 1/2" x 3 1/4"
- Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5" (inside), scraps
- Luxe White Specialty Paper (N): 3 3/4" x 4" (we will cut)
- Window Sheet: 1/4 sheet
To Make This Card:
- Score Granny Apple Green card base @ 5 1/2". Crease well.
- Adhere Window sheet to the wrong side of top flap, with Tear n Tape, even with the crease.
- Close the top flap into place and adhere the bottom piece, so that it is even with the bottom of the Window sheet and the bottom of the card.
- Next add the 2 coordinating Coastal Cabana pieces. Set this aside for now.
- Now, take the Luxe White resist piece. I chose 3 ink colors for the background - Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Pretty Peacock. Take a Blending Brush and start with the lightest color, then the medium color, and then add a little bit of the darker color. If you prefer a darker color, just add more ink! Before it completely dries, buff with a tissue.
- Lay piece onto card front, and cut to fit with a 1/8" edge.
- Then, continue the pattern with the bottom piece. Fit, trim, and adhere. You will have a little left over!
- Now, for the focal point.
- Die cut 2 leaves from the Pretty Peacock piece. You'll also need one decorative piece from Lemon Lime Twist, 2 Lily of the Valley "stems", and 14 White die cut "flowers".
- Place the decorative piece onto the card, as shown.
- Place a little Multipurpose Glue on the flowers and add the While flowers. Then, add Wink of Stella to each flower.
- Add the 2 "sprigs" to the card, as shown. Also, add the Pretty Peacock leaves. I pulled a few of the flowers on top of the leaves.
- Now, for the inside. Adhere the inside White piece to the Coastal Cabana piece. Lay inside, and lightly pencil where the Peacock leave ends and the top and bottom as well.
- Then, remove from inside and stamp desired sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink.
- At the same time, add "Happy Birthday" above.
- Stamp small Lily sprig in Granny Apple Green ink. Color with Light Granny Apple Green Blend.
- Adhere piece to inside of card.
- Finish with scattered, new Shimmering Dots. Be sure to put several on the Window sheet!
