Filled with Sweetness Card with a Twist

Here's another way to use the "jam jar" from the Filled with Sweetness Dies. I looks like a "normal" card, but I added a "twist".  I had this idea, and then Karen Titus elaborated on it and Rachel Traudt shared her color challenge. (Interesting. Deviates from the "traditional" colors suggested by the DSP! I put it all together and...Voila! Give this layout a try with your own favorite colors!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 2 5/8" x 3 3/8"
  • Lovely & Beautiful DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (Fresh Freesia print)
  • Lemon Lolly: 4" x 4 1/4", scraps
  • Pool Party: 2 1/8" x 2 3/4"
  • Daffodil Delight: 2 3/4" x 3"
  • Fresh Freesia: scrap
  • Silver Foil: 1" x 3 1/4"
To Make This Card:

  • Add DSP to folded White card base.
  • Stamp "jar" in Daffodil Delight ink onto piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock. Die cut with coordinating die, including "slit" in the lid.
  • Place Foam Adhesive Strips along the outside edges of "jar". Set aside.
  • Stamp "label" with Pool Party ink onto piece of Pool Party cardstock. Add small die cut heart from Fresh Freesia. (Die is with the bundle dies.)
  • Die cut the 2 parts of the "citrus slice" of the Made With Sweetness Dies in Lemon Lolly.
  • Color the solid piece with Lemon Lolly Blend, and then adhere together.
  • Now, for the insert/message piece.
  • Die cut "spoon" from Silver Foil. The die is with the Filled with Sweetness Dies.
  • If desired, stamp "flourish" in Fresh Freesia ink onto White insert.
  • Before adhering the insert all together, check to make sure that it fits inside the jar. You might need to trim it a little bit to fit within the Adhesive Strips.
  • Check the desired angle of the spoon, then sandwich/adhere "spoon" between the 2 layers of the insert.  Check again.
  • Now, you can add the "jar" to the front of card.
  • Then, you can finish the front of the jar, by adding Pool Party "label" with Dimensionals, as well as the "lemon slice".
  • Finish with scattered Iridescent Rhinestones
