Christmas Lights Standing Gate Fold #2

This card is the "green" version of the previous Standing Gate Fold. The only difference (other than the green color) is the tree focal point, instead of being heat embossing in gold, I simplified this and cut it out of the coordinating Vanilla Snowflake DSP.

Measurements:

  • Evening Evergreen or Soft Succulent: 4 1/8" x 5 1/2", 5 1/2" x 7 1/4"
  • Lights Aglow (N): 2 1/4" x 5", 1/2" x 2 1/8" (gold scallop)
  • Very Vanilla: 2 1/2" x 5 1/4"(outside), 2 1/8" x 5 1/4" (inside), 2 3/4" x 4 3/8" (tree)
  • Festive Foils (N): 2 pcs @ 1" x 5 1/4" (Soft Succulent Snowflake)
  • Gold Glimmer: scrap
To Make This Card:

  • Score card at 1 3/8" - 2 1/2" from each end. Accordion fold. Crease well with Bone Folder.
  • Attach the 2 Foil pieces to the outer edges of the card "base".
  • Adhere the folded piece to this "base".  It DOES overlap the DSP strips.
  • Attach narrower Vanilla piece to inside of card.  Attach DSP piece to the bottom

Cottage Rose Larger Panel Standing Gate Fold Card

Susan Campfield had another version of the Standing Gate Fold Card, with a wider front panel.  This gives this fold a totally different look!  Use this version when your card front or stamped images need a wider base! I just love this card!  You have to see it IRL!

Measurements:

  • Crumb Cake: 5 1/2" x 8" (gate fold), 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (base), 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" (top layer)
  • Abigail Rose DSP (N) (AC): 2 pcs @ 3/4" x 5 1/4", 1 pc 1 1/4" x 5 1/4" (base, outside right panel) - crumb cake print), 2 pcs @ 1" x 5 1/4" (inside fold panels - espresso print), 3" x 5" (top layer - tulip print), 1 1/4" x 3 3/4" (sentiment - petal pink stripe)
  • Early Expresso: 3 1/4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @1 1/8" x 2 1/2"
  • Gold Foil: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Score card at 1 1/2"" - 2 3/4" from each end. Accordion fold. Crease well with Bone Folder.
  • Attach the 2 - 3/4" pieces to the outer edges of the card "base".
  • Adhere the folded piece to this "base".  It DOES overlap the DSP strips, and goes from top to bottom.
  • Adhere the 2 - 1" pieces to the inside folds, and the 1 - 1 1/4" DSP piece to the front, RIGHT outside panel.
  • Take the "tulip" DSP piece and select one "tulip" to color with Petal Pink Blends.  This is called "Spotlighting.
  • Next layer all the 3 front pieces together.
  • Place adhesive on LEFT front outside panel and center front piece over folded card, and attach to the left side.  This piece will extend about 1/4" from the wrong side.  It should.
  • Attach Pink Stripe to front panel as shown.
  • Cut 2 small, wide "banners" from Basic White.
  • Stamp sentiments of your choice on the "banners" in Early Espresso ink.  Attach one to the front of card with Dimensionals over Pink Stripe, attach the other one to the inside, on the front, RIGHT outside panel, as shown.
  • Lastly, cut out 2 gold foil flowers and adhere to the front of the card, and under the inside sentiment as shown!

Starry Grove

I still love the Grove Dies and am always looking for new ideas.  This one uses the gorgeous Lights Aglow DSP with the Grove Dies and deer in Brushed Gold. So, simple, and classy!

Measurements:

  • Basic Black: 1/2 sheet, 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Lights Aglow DSP (N): 3 1/4" x 5"
  • Very Vanilla 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (one goes inside)
  • Brushed Metallic Gold: scraps
To Make This Card:
  • Attach Very Vanilla layer to folded Basic Black card.
  • Center "grove of trees" and cut from Basic Black  piece.
  • Attach DSP behind "trees".  (Note: in order to get 2 pieces of DSP from each 6x6 sheet, these are 3" wide, and run a little short of the die opening.  I just added a little strip of black cardstock to the wrong side at the bottom of the "trees".  If you don't need to make the most of your DSP, cut as needed!)
  • Attach this piece to card front.
  • Die cut 2 "deer" from the Brushed Gold cardstock.
  • Attach to card.  I tucked the feet a little into the "grass".

Christmas Lights Standing Gate Fold

I saw this card fold and wasn't really sure how it worked.  So, taking her dimensions in hand, I proceeded to create a version similar to hers. Surprise, surprise the dimensions were in inches, but the size was UK!!  So, I have since adjusted the dimensions for the US! Love this bundle and DSP!  It also uses the Festive Foils DSP from this suite.  A nice way to accent the card!
