Slimline Mailbox

Oh, wow, we have created so many cool ideas using the Snailed It Bundle!!  How to decide??  Well, stay tuned!! This sample is actually from the Mini Catalog, on page 54! It's a darling "mail box" on a Slimline card!  It also uses those cute little envelope dies, a die cut from the DSP, and those cute little Resin Hearts! Give it a try!  I'll tell you how!

Measurements:

  • Bermuda Bay: 7" x 8 1/2", 2 7/8" x 5" (mailbox)
  • Pool Party: 2 5/8" x 2 3/4", 3" x 3 3/4" (envelope)
  • Real Red: 3" x 3 3/4" (envelope)
  • Blushing Bride: 3" x 3 3/4" (envelope)
  • Basic White: scraps
  • Snailed Mail DSP: 3 1/4" x 8 1/4", small snail
To Make This Card:

  • Score card base along 7" side at 3 1/2". Fold well. Attach DSP to front of card.
  • To create "mailbox".  Take the Bermuda Bay rectangle and round the corners of one "end". At the other end, take the "postcard" die and remove a rectangle of cardstock, creating the legs of the "mailbox" (clever, huh!).
  • Cut the "postage square" from Pool Party. Attach to "mailbox" 1/4" above die cut.  Please note, that this is NOT square.  One side is 1/8" longer!!  You will want to adhere this so the shorter side is parallel to this cut. (The longer side follows the sides of the "mailbox".)
  • Take a ruler and pencil and mark a line for the "mail slot" 1/4"  above Pool Party "square". Make the line as long as the Pool jParty piece.
  • Slide the "mailbox" into your Trimmer and cut along this line, or, if you prefer, take your scissosrs, and cut along the pencil mark.
  • Now, cut out 3 "mini envelopes" in colors of your choice.  Assemble 2 with Mini Glue dots, and leave one "open".
  • Cut one "postcard" from Basic White.  Stamp 3 hearts in Real Red.  Insert into Real Red envelope. (You'll want to glue this in, too.
  • Attach "mailbox" to card.  Place adhesive on outside edges, and above cut line, leaving bottom lose to tuck in the "envelopes".
  • Arrange and adhere "envelopes" into "mail slot". I only used 3, the sample uses 5.  You can use as many as you'd like.  I like to use odd numbers.
  • Cut 1 small snail from DSP.  Attach to Pool Party piece, as shown, with a Dimensional.
  • Stamp sentiment in Real Red onto a scrap of Basic White.  Split in half, and cut around. Add to card with outside strips of Dimensionals.
  • Finish with Real Red Resin Hearts.
