I saw this card and knew that I needed to copy it! I love the paper, and the design, and the Strawberries! It's a nice combination of the Strawberry Punch, SAB Berry Delight DSP, and fun fold! I also liked the neat technique of embossing a vellum doily in White Embossing Powder! This card is also one of my February Club Cards!
Measurements:
- Pacific Point: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 1/2" strip
- Poppy Parade: 3 1/4" x 8 1/2", scraps
- Granny Apple Green: scraps
- Berry Delightful DSP (SAB): 4: x 5 1/4" (berry & strawberry), 2 1/2" x 3" (blue diagonal), 2 1/2" x 4" (red check)
- Basic White: 2 1/2" x 3" (inside), 2 3/4" x 3" (front)
To Make This Card:
- Fold Pacific Point card in half. Then fold the front back on itself, creating a "Z" fold.
- Attach "quarter" sheet of Berry DSP to inside of card, and Red Check DSP to front flap.
- Score Poppy Parade piece at 3", turn and score at 2 3/4". Fold in a "Z" and crease well.
- Stamp 2 Strawberry "outlines" in Poppy Parade onto scrap of Poppy Parade cardstock. Punch out with Strawberry Punch.
- Stamp 2 Stem "outlines" in Granny Apple Green, onto scraps of Granny Apple Green. Punch out with Strawberry Punch. Assemble with "berry". Set aside.
- Emboss sentiment of your choice, in white, onto Pacific Point strip. "Flag" each end, and attach along 2 3/4" side of front white piece.
- Stamp leaves/blossoms in Granny Apple Green ink above sentiment. Arrange punched strawberries over stamped image and adhere to white piece. Then attach to 3" side of Poppy Parade strip.
- Cut Vellum Doily in half. Press into VersaMark ink pad, and emboss with White Embossing powder. Note: Make sure that you have something underneath your Vellum as the embossing powder will "drip" through the openings a bit. Set aside to cool.
- Adhere Blue Diagonal DSP to next section of Poppy Parade piece.
- Stamp sentiment in Poppy Parade onto smaller Basic White piece. Add a leaf from the blossom stamp, in the corner with Granny Apple Green. Attach this piece to the remaining Poppy Parade section. Now, place a strong adhesive on the back of this section. This can be either Seal+ or Tear Tape.
- Attach embossed vellum piece to wrong side of Poppy Parade front, leaving approx 1/2" extended.
- Fold up this Poppy Parade piece, center in a pleasing position. Press the back piece down.
- Determine where the front needs to be attached. Note: Remember you will only put adhesive on a portion of this piece! When you open the card, you will want an even "Z". See picture above.. You also want to try to have it lay flat.
- Finish with double bow of Linen Thread and attach to punched strawberries.
