Yesterday, Sara - our CEO, shared this "Spotlight" card on her video. It was PERFECT timing, as I've been working on samples using the Frames and Flowers DSP and Poised Peony stamps for club. (Stay tuned for MANY ideas! I LOVE this bundle!!) For her card, she used a "frame" from the DSP (shown below), "spotlighting" the flower of the stamp by punching it out with a 2 1/4" circle punch. It's been a long time since I've done "spotlighting". In retrospect, while I copied Sara's card, I think when I usually did "spotlighting" the image underneath was not colored, only the "spotlight". What do you think?? (Sorry for the dark pix. gloomy day!)
Measurements:
- Petal Pink: 1/2 sheet
- Basic White: 2 pcs @ 3" x 4 1/4" (front), 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
- Frames & Flowers DSP: frame
To Make This Card:
- Remove center from frame. (I used the center for another card you'll see later!) Adhere to front of folded Petal Pink card.
- Stamp "peony" in Memento Black ink onto center of one smaller White, front piece. Stamp, again, onto other piece. You really only need just the flower and a few leaves.
- Punch the 2nd image out with 2 1/4" circle Punch
- Color the punched flower with Blends as shown. Color just the "leaves" that will show on the full image on the White layer (or not)
- Wrap Linen Thread twice around the White layer, tie in a bow.
- Then, mount the full White layer over the opening on the "frame".
- Add the "flower" to the card with Dimensionals, lining up image.
- Add the White piece to the inside of card. Stamp bud on lower Right corner. Color with Blends.
- Finish with Wink of Stella on the "flower" and scattered Champagne Rhinestones.
