Sweet Bugs Double Z Fold Card

I haven't done a "basic" Double Z Fold in ages! I found this design by Lynn Starzl and decided to give it a try, since I DID have all the supplies and cardstocks here with me! I love how it turned out! These cute bugs are beginning to grow on me!  They are just so darn cute! AND, the can be used for so many occasions!!  Especially big guy or little guy cards!

Measurements:

  • Cajun Craze: 1/2 sheet
  • Pecan Pie: 1 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • Mossy Meadow: 3 1/4" square
  • Old Olive: 3" square
  • Basic White: 2 3/4" square (front); 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scraps
  • Cute as a Bug DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" (mushrooms), die cuts
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Cajun Craze card base in half and then, again, back on itself, creating a "Z".
  • Adhere the 2 DSP pieces to card base on the front and inside flaps.
  • Adhere the White inside piece to the inside.
  • Next, take the Pecan Pie strip and score it at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4". Create "Z" like card base.
  • The 4 1/4" area will go on the front, and the "Z" will be on the inside/back piece. Flip the strip over and place tear n tape on the exposed areas - half of the front, and the 2 1/8" area.
  • Center this piece onto card and adhere into place.
  • Layer the squares together, as shown.  Either stamp caterpillar or die cut one from the paper and adhere to White layer. If you stamped the caterpillar color in as desired.  I also stamped the little flower/grass on the bottom corner as well.
  • Place adhesive onto the front "Z" band and adhere.
  • Stamp sentiment in black ink onto strip of White.  Cut apart, as shown, and adhere to 2 1/8" area on the inside/back piece. (Isn't this clever!)
  • Finish the inside with a die cut "ant".
  • Finish the front with a couple "dew drops" from the Ladybug Garden Epoxy Dots.
  • Close the card and add a Ladybug to the top of "squares".
