I was looking for a project using Welcome Noel Bundle, that didn't have so many pieces to "arrange"! I came across this awesome card created by Yvonne from Prairie Designs. I had to do a little adjusting as I think she is from Australia (love their accent and g'day), and their dimensions a bit different! Regardless, I think my version came out really nice! It utilized the Everyday Arches as and opening and a "frame" along with a center of vellum. The die cut houses have gold foil in the "windows". All white, except for the touches of gold, ahd the green trees. (I used Mossy Meadow for this one, I think I might try Peaceful Pine for the next!) We'll be doing this one in my class this week.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet
- Basic White: 3 5/8" x 5" (arch frame & houses), 4" x 5 1/4" (inside) scraps
- Vellum: 3 5/8" x 5"
- Gold Foil Cardstock: scraps
- Gold Hot Foil
- Fold Thick White card base in half. Die cut 5th from largest arch from front of card, as shown. Keep the center.
- Take the basic White piece for the arches (the smaller piece) and using the 3rd and 5th largest arches, die cut an arched "frame".
- Also die cut an arch using the 3rd largest arch, from vellum.
- Glue the vellum to the wrong side of the arched "frame".
- Next, stamp 2 "trees" in Peaceful Pine ink onto arch centers. Die cut with corresponding dies.
- Now, die cut the 3 "houses" from the remaining centers and scraps. You'll need to use both parts of the die to the the outside cut, and the details included.
- Take scraps of gold foil and place behind the windows, holding in place with Mini Dimensionals.
- Next, add the "arch" to the opening in the card front with MIni Dimensionals.
- Add the taller house to the lower right corner, then add the larger tree, also with Mini Dimensionals.
- Continue with the smaller tree, longer house, and small house. Overlapping to create interest.
- The sentiment is Gold Foiled from the Hot Foiled Magical Christmas Die. Take your pick, there are many to choose from!
- Finish the front with Gold Dots.
- For the inside, stamp a 3-generation Pine Tree in Peaceful Pine ink, then add to inside.
