Little Village Side Pull Out Card

I just love this Little Village from the Classic Cloche stamp set! I thought I would pair it with a traditional Side Pull Out Card using the Layering Circle Dies.  (Hmmm, I wonder if I could have used the Cloche die.  Might need to try that!) And of course the gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder DSP!

Measurements:

  • Blushing Bride: 1/2 sheet
  • Whimsy & Wonder DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (snowflakes), 1 7/8" x 5" (holly)
  • Basic White: 5 1/4" x 8", 2 3/4" square, 3/4" x 3 1/8" (sentiment)
  • Silver Foil: 3 1/4" square (scalloped circle), 3" square (inside smooth circle), 1 1/8" x 3 1/4"
To Make This Card
  • Fold Basic White card base in half. Attach Stnowflake DSP quarter to front along outside edges only.
  • Cut smooth circle through both layers on front of card.  Discard these pieces.
  • Layer this smooth circle die inside coordinating scallop circle die, and cut from largest Silver Foil square.  You will not need the center circle. Attach this silver scalloped "frame" to the front of card, around the circle.
  • Stamp the "little village" in Basic Gray ink onto square of White.  Cut out with circle you just used for the front opening.
  • Stamp the detail on the village.  I used Mint Macaron for the "trees" and Basic Gray for the "buildings".  I stamped away, but I wish it was just a little darker... I also stamped some light snowflakes using the stamp from the Peaceful Cabin, but use any snowflake stamp you might have.
  • Now, select a little larger circle, and cut a circle from the other Silver Foil Square. Layer with the White "village" circle. Set aside for the time being.
  • Fold Basic White card in half, and then again in half, back on itself, creating a "Z" fold. Crease well. Flip over so the "Z" is on the right, and adhere "base" to inside of Blushing Bride.card. Attach other DSP strip to inside narrow panel.
  • Adding the circles is a little different for this card. You still close card.  Place adhesive on part of the "z" fold that is showing through the rectangle.
  • But, instead of replacing the cut out through the circle, you will need to approach it from the BACK side, centering the circle in the created "window" and attaching the silver circle to the inside flap, where you have already placed the adhesive.
  • Stamp sentiment in Basic Gray onto narrow rectangle piece. Attach to Silver strip and add to card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with White Glitter bow, and a stamped sentiment inside of your choice with Basic Gray. Oh, and some scattered Rhinestones.

Classic Cloche Side Step Fold + VIDEO

Another Fun Fold that I had never seen.  I have done "traditional" Side Step Folds, a Faux (fake) one, no!!  I LOVE this fun and easy card! AND, with this version, there is even a place to write a message! For this version, I used the Tidings of Christmas DSP in the Annual Catalog, along with my new favorite, Classic Cloche Bundle. Those darling domes are really a neat addition, but difficult to mail.  Notice how I used a piece of Window Sheet for my "dome".  Mailing this one is easy, peasy!!

Measurements:

  • Real Red: 5 1/2" x 8"
  • Tidings of Christmas DSP (N): 7/8" x 5 1/4", 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" (base), 2 3/4" x 4" (step), 3/8" x 5 1/4" strip (inside)
  • Basic White: 3" x 6" (step), 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" (inside), 2 3/4" x 3" (village), scrap (message)
  • Peaceful Place DSP (N): 2 3/4" x 3" silver trees  (dome base), scrap - woodgrain
  • Window Sheet: 2 3/4" x 3" (dome overlay)

To Make This Card:
  • For this version, I used one color for the base, and a coordinating color for the "step".
  • Score Real Red piece along 8" side at 3" - 6" - 7".  Accordion fold as shown. Crease well.
  • Attach 7/8" x 5 1/4" piece to "bottom". Skip an area, and attach larger piece to the next area.
  • Now, take the White 3" x 6" piece (step) and score along 6" side at 4 1/4". Crease well. Attach corresponding DSP to the front of this piece.
  • Turn this over and add Tear & Tape to the lower back edge of both the top and the bottom. (you are on the wrong side)
  • Cut the "dome" from the "snowflake" part of the Silver Trees, as well as the Window Sheet.  Set aside.
  • This is a 3-step stamp! (Love the detail).  Stamp outline "village" in black ink onto piece of white (step 1).  Skip adding color to the trees (step 2) and stamp the 3rd stamp in Real Red onto the "buildings.  Isn't that just too cool! Now, cut it out with corresponding die.
  • Attach the "village" to the "dome" with the snowflakes. I added Wink of Stella to the rooftops.
  • Now place adhesive along the bottom of the dome, so you just catch about 1/8" of the base. Adhere the Window Sheet, just to the bottom.
  • Cut a "dome base" from the Silver Woodgrain DSP.  Add a little more adhesive, if necessary, and attch to the bottom of the dome, overlapping the bottom just a little.  Note: I did this all on my Silicone Craft Sheet.
  • Now, take this piece and place it where desired on top of DSP on "step" piece.
  • Remove the Tear & Tape covering on the "step" piece and place even with the lower edge. Remove the other covering, fold the card flat, and attach to the back of card.
  • To finish the card, place the White piece inside and attach the 3/8" strip to the bottom.  Stamp sentiment in Real Red on a scrap of white and fussy cut around it.
  • Lastly, add a sheer, red bow above the dome. This also attaches the domes to the card!

Birds in Cloche Dome

As I've mentioned before, when I sit down to play with a new set/bundle, I try to make at least 2 cards!  This is the other card, with the Classic Cloche Bundle that uses the birds in this set and a different shaker stuff inside. I love this layout that also uses the little trees!

Measurements:

  • Evening Evergreen: 1/2 sheet, scraps
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", 3" x 3 3/4", scrap
  • Mint Macaron: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Soft Suede: scrap
To Make This Card:

    • Layer White piece onto folded Evening Evergreen card.
    • Cut "dome" from Mint Macaron piece to the left side as shown, leaving enough room for the dome "base".
    • It is easiest to stamp sentiment now, before the dome is attached and the texture of the embossing folder is added.
    • Now, emboss Mint Macaron layer with with Winter Snow Embossing Folder.
    • Now, for the birds.  Lay the Mint piece in place over the white layer and draw a pencil line inside the dome area. Remove the layer. Then, you can either: 1) stamp "birds" inside the pencil marks. or 2) You can stamp the "birds" onto a piece of white, cut out with die, and adhere inside the pencil marks.
    • Again, the birds are a 3-step image.  You'll stamp the bird outline first, then the "branches", and then the "bird feathers".  And, voila!  A complete image!  I also added a few Rhinestones to the larger circle images.
    • Now, attach "dome" to  by Mint Macaron layer by removing covering on adhesive.
    • Add small "pile" of sequins on top of "birds".
    • Add adhesive to back of Mint piece around outside edges, remove rest of covering on tape and carefully attach to card front, enclosing sequins under dome.
    • Cut White "snow bank" and several Evening Evergreen Trees.  Add to card front as shown.
    • Cut a dome "base" from Soft Suede.  Adhere under "dome".
    • Finish with bow of Evening Evergree Open Weave ribbon. and a few more scattered Rhinestones.

    Classic Cloche in Blue

I thought it was about time to use this darling little village in a dome!  It caught my eye immediately when the catalog came out! I saw this version that was a little less "traditional" in blue, and I LOVE it.  The little village is actually a 3-step image.  First you stamp the image, then the background tree color, and then the building color!  So unique, so Stampin' Up!  They think of everything!  You need to add this to your list!!

    Measurements:

    • Pacific Point: 1/2 sheet
    • You're a Peach DSP: 4" x 5 1/4" (blue stripe)
    • Peaceful Place DSP: 3" x 3 3/4" (silver trees - snowflakes)
    • Basic White: 3" x 3 3/4"
    • Early Espresso: narrow scrap
    To Make This Card:

      • Fold Pacific Point  in half. Emboss with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
      • Cut Stitched Rectangle from Stripe DSP.
      • Cut "cloche dome" from stripe DSP.  Also, cut dome from "snowflake area" of Silver Trees.
      • Lay stripe DSP on top of folded card to determine placement of "snowflake" piece. Insert this through the opening and attach this to card.Stamp "village" in Basic Gray.  Stamp "tree color" in stamped away Balmy Blue, and stamp "buildings" in stamped away Pacific Point.  Cut out with corresponding die.  Attach to snowflake "dome" piece, already on card.
      • Cut "dome base" from Early Espresso.  This is 2 piece for more detail.  Adhere together, and attach to stripe piece below dome base cut line.
      • Stamp sentiment in Pacific Point ink below this.
      • Now, attach "dome" to DSP by removing covering on adhesive.
      • Add small "pile" of sequins on top of "village".
      • Add adhesive to back of DSP around outside edges, remove rest of covering on tape and carefully attach to card front, enclosing sequins under dome.
      • Finish with bow of White Organdy Glitter Ribbon
