Little Village Side Pull Out Card

I just love this Little Village from the Classic Cloche stamp set! I thought I would pair it with a traditional Side Pull Out Card using the Layering Circle Dies.  (Hmmm, I wonder if I could have used the Cloche die.  Might need to try that!) And of course the gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder DSP!

Measurements:

  • Blushing Bride: 1/2 sheet
  • Whimsy & Wonder DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (snowflakes), 1 7/8" x 5" (holly)
  • Basic White: 5 1/4" x 8", 2 3/4" square, 3/4" x 3 1/8" (sentiment)
  • Silver Foil: 3 1/4" square (scalloped circle), 3" square (inside smooth circle), 1 1/8" x 3 1/4"
To Make This Card
  • Fold Basic White card base in half. Attach Stnowflake DSP quarter to front along outside edges only.
  • Cut smooth circle through both layers on front of card.  Discard these pieces.
  • Layer this smooth circle die inside coordinating scallop circle die, and cut from largest Silver Foil square.  You will not need the center circle. Attach this silver scalloped "frame" to the front of card, around the circle.
  • Stamp the "little village" in Basic Gray ink onto square of White.  Cut out with circle you just used for the front opening.
  • Stamp the detail on the village.  I used Mint Macaron for the "trees" and Basic Gray for the "buildings".  I stamped away, but I wish it was just a little darker... I also stamped some light snowflakes using the stamp from the Peaceful Cabin, but use any snowflake stamp you might have.
  • Now, select a little larger circle, and cut a circle from the other Silver Foil Square. Layer with the White "village" circle. Set aside for the time being.
  • Fold Basic White card in half, and then again in half, back on itself, creating a "Z" fold. Crease well. Flip over so the "Z" is on the right, and adhere "base" to inside of Blushing Bride.card. Attach other DSP strip to inside narrow panel.
  • Adding the circles is a little different for this card. You still close card.  Place adhesive on part of the "z" fold that is showing through the rectangle.
  • But, instead of replacing the cut out through the circle, you will need to approach it from the BACK side, centering the circle in the created "window" and attaching the silver circle to the inside flap, where you have already placed the adhesive.
  • Stamp sentiment in Basic Gray onto narrow rectangle piece. Attach to Silver strip and add to card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with White Glitter bow, and a stamped sentiment inside of your choice with Basic Gray. Oh, and some scattered Rhinestones.

Snowflake Faker Shaker

I saw a version of this Faker Shaker and knew I had to try it!  These are so fun to do! All it takes is a clear envelope (that we do sell), a piece of DSP, and something to shake. This DSP is so pretty, as are the Wonderful Snowflakes!

Measurements:

  • Blushing Bride: 1/2 sheet
  • Whimsy & Wonder DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (snowflakes)
  • Silver Foil: 3 1/2" square
To Make This Card:

  • Insert DSP into CLEAR envelope. (Yes, we do still carry these!). Pour in some "sprinkles". Seal the envelope tight around DSP.  Then fold down the side and tape, so it fits tightly arund DSP, too.  You don't want any of those "sprinkles" escaping!!
  • Wrap Blushing Bride Ribbon around this piece and tie in a knot.  Attach this piece onto folded Blushing Bride card.
  • Cut medium "doily" from Silver Foil.  Attach Wonderful Snowflake to "doily" with Glue dot.  Then, attach this to card, over ribbon, with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with Opal Round in center of "snowflake".

Awesome Mini Paper Pumpkin Gift Box

Good Morning, Stampers!  I don't do many 3D items, as I find they aren't of interest to my local stampers, but when one of my demonstrators shared a similar box, I had requests to teach one! This is one of our Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes from the Annual Catalog.  What I truly like, and am teaching, are the little inserts that you can put inside your box to organize your gift! The version here divides the box to hold Chocolates.  I used only Hershey Nuggets and Ghiradelli Squares, nicely wrapped, of course, for my box.  I think this box of chocolates would make a nice Christmas gift for a Host/Hostess thank you, hair dresser, mail carrier, etc.  You could make your box to hold chocolates, note cards, desk kit, Emergency Card kit, well, you get the idea! Covering the box is easy and fun.  Decided how to personalize the inside even more so!

Measurements:

  • Mint Macaron: 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" (top), 2 pcs @ 1" x 3 3/4" (short side), 3 pcs @ 1" x 5 3/4" (long side), Dividers: 5 1/2" square (base), 1 5/8" x 11" (nuggets), 1 5/8" x 7 1/2" (1/2 nuggets),        4" x 4" (optional base insert)
  • Whimsy & Wonder (N):                                                                                           Packages - 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" (top), 2 pcs @ 7/8" x 3 1/2" (short side), 3 pcs @ 7/8" x 5 1/2" (long side), 3 3/4" x 5 3/8" (inside lid). 3/4" x 3" (pull tab) Stripe (Nuggets): 1" x 3 1/4" per nugget. Snowflakes: 1 5/8" x 4 3/4" per Ghiradelli Chocolate
  • Basic White: 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • Polished Pink: 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • Silver Foil: 2 1/4" square, 1/2" strip
To Make This Box:

  • The first thing you will want to do is make your box!  The glossy side is intended to go on the inside, and is food safe!  Crease well first. Then, all side just interlock.  If desired, you can tint with a Blending Brush while flat.  I have also seen some demos attach the cardstock flat.  I find it confusing, and the paper is manhandled to much as you put it together!
  • Once your box is together, attach all the layers (mint macaron). You do not need to double mount your paper.  There is a long strip on the lid AND the front of the box that is exposed when open.
  • Now, decide how you are going to decorate the top!  Simple, or elaborate.  I used our retired Gift Wrapped Bundle from last year.  But, I have also seen some gorgeous examples using the dimensional Poinsettia and Peony!
To Make the Various Inserts:

Base: (for all) (divides box in half length-wise)
            5 1/2" square -  Score @ 2" - 3"- 4"
Nuggets: (full strip of 12 nuggets)
            1 5/8" x 11" - Score along 11" side @ 1 3/8" - 2 3/8" - 3 3/8" - 4 3/4" - 5 3/4" - 6 3/4" -
                                      8 1/8" - 9 1/4" - 10 1/4"
Ghiradelli (2 sides) (also one side square chocolates and one side 6 nuggets)
             2" x 7 1/2" - Score at 2 3/4" - 3 3/4"- 4 3/4"
Optional Base: (divides box in half cross-wise)
             4" x square - Score @ 1" - 2" - 3"
  • Now, wrap your chocolates, load them into your box and you're almost done!
  • If desired, cover the inside lid.  I used a piece of DSP, with a message stamped and cut out with a large label die.
  • I decided this heavier box needed a "pull tab".  So, take the strip of DSP.  Fold in half.  Adhere both sides together.  Then fold in half. Crease well.  Attach one half to the lid as shown with Tear & Tape.

Christmas Tree Vertical Book Binder

Here is a gorgeous Book Binder card that uses the stunning Whimsy & Wonder DSP and the awesome Christmas Tree Dies. But this is no "ordinary" Book Binder card, this one has the "binding" at the top!  Cool, huh!  We will be doing this card at my monthly Stamp Club meeting this Saturday!
