Relaxing Waterside Spanner Card

I found this card that uses the lavender sheet from the gorgeous Scenic Coast DSP paired with the die cut chair from the Relaxing Waterside dies. I thought it just looked so relaxing! Perfect for a summer occasion. I also liked the use of a Bridge Fold for the card design. Just too fun!

Measurements:

Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
Basic White: 1/4 sheet (embossed), 3/4" x 4 1/4", scraps
Adhesive Sheet: scrap
Highland Heather: 3" x 4"
Golden Glow (N): 2" x 2 1/2"
Scenic Coast DSP (N): 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

To Make this Card:

Run 1/4 sheet of White through Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder.
Fold card base in half. Create "Bridge" base, by cutting each side of front @ 1 1/4" from cut edge to fold.
Repeat for embossed quarter - i.e. cut 1 1/4" from each side (to keep pattern). Keep pieces in order.
To create "bridge", take the 3/4" strip and adhere it 1/2" from bottom of base of card, and to both sides of the outside flaps.
Now, add embossed strips to these front flaps with Multipurpose Glue
Next, take the DSP sheet. Remove 1 1/8" from each side. Again, keeping pattern in order, adhere the outside strips to the outside of areas of the inside of the card. Clear as mud, right. See picture above!
The center piece will get adhered on top of the embossed, center piece of the card design.
The "base" is now complete. Now, to decorate!
Die cut the chair in Highland Heather cardstock. The chair is 2-pieces AND the little "kick plate, front piece" comes off for added detail, or a constrast!. Adhere the 2 pieces together, and the extra piece as well.
Next, die cut the "net" from Golden Glow cardstock.
Lay out how you would like to assemble these 2 pieces, and then adhere to "bridge" with Multipurpose Glue.
Finish by stamping sentiment Highland Heather ink, and fussy cutting around it. I added it to the "net".
I also stamped the "coffee cup" in Highland Heather and die cut it out, and placed it on the chair.
I die cut the 3 sea gulls from white, after adding an adhesive sheet to the back first. (Much easier to adhere!) And added them to the front section.
For the inside, I stamped a sentiment in Highland Heather.
On the outside, I scattered purple sequins.

Sunset Coast Tri-Fold #2

Here is another sample using the Sunset Coast Bundle with the Scenic Coast DSP as a Tri-fold. This one is the 12x12 White Willow version (a little narrower). Instead of the "sailboat", I used the "lighthouse". The colors are a little more intense, so I used darker "seagulls", and the Sunset Sparkle Sequins for the embellishment.

Measurements:

Willow White: 5 1/2" x 12"
Blueberry Bushel scrap
Adhesive Sheet: scrap
Scenic Coast DSP (N): 3 7/8" x 5 3/8" (narrower card)

To Make This Card:

Score card base @ 4" - 8".
Die cut opening of your choice on the front flap from the Sunset Coast Dies. I did mine a little above the center of the card.
Fold card into place. Open front flap, and adhere DSP to the next section, on the right.
Next, I cut the 3 "seagulls". I placed a scrap of an adhesive strip on the back of scrap of cardstock, before cutting out. Choose a color that coordinates with your chose DSP. All of them will work! I choose Blueberry Bushel for this one.
Leaving card folded into place, peel adhesive back from the "seagulls" and adhere into place. I placed one on the card front, and the other 2 through the opening, and on the inside DSP.
Now, stamp your sentiment on the front. I used one from the Sunset Coast Stamps and stamped it in Blueberry Bushel ink.
I also stamped the little "sailboats" in Blueberry Bushel ink inside.
Finish the inside, with the remaining piece of DSP - why not!?
Finish the front by adding Wink of Stella to the "seagulls" and scatter the new Sunset Sparkle Sequins.

Sunset Coast Tri-Fold

"One of these cards is not like the other"!! I just LOVE this gorgeous Scenic Coast DSP! There are SO MANY possibilities that you don't have to even search for ideas, however, I did find this awesome tri-fold card created by Karina Chin! Yes, there is just one minor difference between these two samples (other than the sentiment), it's the size of the tri-fold card base! When I do a tri-fold, I usually use 2 halves of cardstock, and overlap them in the middle, which makes it quite sturdy in the center. Karin used our 12x12 Willow White cardstock, which makes the card 4" wide instead of "our" standard 4 1/4" - just minor, but more room in the envelope.

Measurements:

Basic White: 2 1/2 sheets (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") or
Willow White: 5 1/2" x 12"
Balmy Blue: scrap
Adhesive Sheet: scrap
Scenic Coast DSP (N): 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" (full-sized card), 3 7/8" x 5 3/8" (narrower card)

To Make This Card:

For Full-Sized card, adhere the two, folded 1/2 sheet pieces together, overlapping the backs so it opens flat to a long card. (For the narrower card, score base @ 4" - 8". - Really only difference)

I also stamped the little "sailboats" in Blueberry Bushel ink, as well as the inside sentiment. Note: When you stamp on the DSP, it has an iridescent coating to it, so you will need to hold the stamp in place a little longer, so the ink soaking in.
Finish the inside, with the remaining piece of DSP - why not!?
Finish the front by adding Wink of Stella to the "seagulls" and "waves", and Last Chance Frosted Iridescent Dots

Double Vision Sunset Coast

I just love this new, Double Vision technique! It is particularly stunning with a scenic DSP, just over the top with our new Scenic Coast Specialty DSP (check out the iridescence). I'm also always on the lookout for unique dies, and the dies in the Sunset Coast Bundle are just that - unique! This sample, I went back to the lower Dimensional "edges" for the popped up pieces. I DO think I like that effect the best! You need to give this technique a try!

Measurements:

Blueberry Bushel: 1/2 sheet, 4" x 5 1/4" (mounting piece); 3 1/4" x 4"
Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", scrap
Scenic Coast DSP (N): 1 - 6"x 6" sheet

To Make This Card:

Look at your "scenic" DSP piece and decide which area you might want to use, first. Note: you could die cut the "focal point" layer first, and use it to check it out. And, then trim this piece to 4" x 5 1/4".
Take this DSP piece and cut it into 8 - 1/2" strips. Make sure as you cut you keep them in order!
Begin with the farthest LEFT piece and adhere it directly to the Blueberry Bushel "mounting" piece. I would suggest using Multipurpose Glue for these pieces, too.
Then, LAY the next into place, for spacing, and adhere the next, third, piece.
Continue with "placeholder" and adhered piece until 4 pieces are on your card base.
Now, for the OTHER 4 pieces. These will be popped up! I used the outside edges of my Dimensional sheet.
Before you line these up and pop them into place, put Multipurpose Glue on top of the adhesive of the Dimensionals to help you slide them into place without them grabbing so fast! Isn't that neat!
I started from the LEFT, again, lined up the pattern, and adhered them into place!
Sit back and admire the effect!
Now, you can adhere this piece to the folded Blueberry Bushel card base.
Next, I die cut the "sailboat" die near to top of the "focal point" layer. Emboss the sentiment in White below this opening. Or, if you prefer, you can emboss first, and then die cut the image.
I added this to the front of the card.
Now, die cut the 3 "seagulls" in White. Add them wherever you think you need them.
Finish the inside with a 1/2" strip cut from the leftovers of your DSP. I also stamped a sentiment and the 2 little "sailboats" in Blueberry Bushel ink.
I didn't add any additional embellishments, the paper is just so gorgeous!
