Christmas Classics Soft Shimmer Book Binding Card

Here is another version of a Book Binder card using the detailed frame from the Christmas Classics Dies. This time I used the Soft Shimmer Specialty paper in Pretty Peacock for the frame, and embossed a sentiment in Silver. Neat, simple look! I love it!

Measurements: :

Pretty Peacock: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
Lost Lagoon: 4" square, 1" x 4"
Basic White: 2 1/2" square (sentiment), 4" square (inside)
Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper (N) (AC): 4" square (Pretty Peacock)

To Make This Card:

Fold Pretty Peacock card in half. Score the front flap 1 1/4" from fold. Crease well.
Attach 1" Lost Lagoon piece to "binding".
Tie ribbon into double loop bow leaving long tails.
Add to "binding" by adhering "knot" of bow to center of 1" binding, and then wrapping and securing the "tails" of the bow to the wrong side of the "binding".
Now, attach "binding" area to card with Tear n Tape.
Adhere the other Lost Lagoon piece to other side of front.
Next, die cut detailed "frame" from Soft Shimmer piece. Note: I tried adding an adhesive sheet to the back before cutting - like the adhesive-backed Glitter Paper, but it was just too hard to work with, so I die cut, and then added to card front with "Green Glue".
Now, emboss the sentiment of your choice in Silver, and then cut out with center label die from the Christmas Classics die. Add to center of detailed die cut, so that the card opens from the top!
FInish with scattered Tinsel Gems #3.

Translucent Floral Fractured Card

This card utilizes all of my favs...Translucent Floral Bundle, Delightful Floral DSP, and the Fractured Card Technique. This is a "Becky Original"! I just LOVE how it turned out!

Measurements:

Berry Burst: 1/2 sheet, scraps
Delightful Floral DSP (N) (OE): 4" x 5 1/4" (sm floral), 1/2" x 4" (inside)
Bubble Bath (N): 4 strips 1/4" x 4", scraps
Basic White: 2 1/2" square, 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scrap

To Make This Card:

Die cut 2" stitched square from Stylish Shapes dies from White piece.
Center White square to the DSP. DO NOT ADHERE TO FRONT OF CARD, YET.
Next, take one 1/4" Bubble Bath strip and lay from corner of square, along the cut edge of the square, and off the DSP layer.
Then, lay the next strip, butting the end to the previously laid strip, and laying this one also along cut edge and off the DSP. Repeat until all 4 layers are done.
Next, trim off the strips so that they are even with the DSP.
NOW, adhere the DSP layer to the folded Berry Burst card.
Stamp medium flower in Berry Burst onto scrap of White. Die cut with coordinating die.
Stamp 2 leaves by inking first in Lemon Lime Twist, then adding a little Pretty Peacock with a Sponge Dauber to the base (to ressemble the leaves in the DSP). Also, die cut with corresponding dies.
Add Berry Burst flower to White square on front with Dimensionals. Add leaves, but tucking underneath flower.
Add a "bow", by coloring narrow, White seam binding with Lt Berry Burst Blend.
FInish with White layer, and strip of DSP to the inside of card, and scattered Tinsel Gems 4 to the front.

Glittered Noel Book Binder Card

I just love glitter paper, especially for my holiday cards! Stampin' Up! came out with ADHESIVE glitter paper in the Online Exclusives section! I could see many quick cards using this Specialty Paper, especially with detailed dies, like with the Christmas Classics Dies! This really was a neat, quick card to make! The picture doesn't do it justice. Give it a try!

Measurements: :

Basic White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
Thick Basic White: 2 1/2" square
Joyful Specialty Paper (N): 4" square, 1" x 4" (Spruce Plaid), 3/8" x 4" strip (inside)
Gold Glitter Specialty Paper (OE): 4" square (detailed frame & NOEL)

To Make This Card:

Fold White card in half. Score the front flap 1 1/4" from fold. Crease well.
Attach 1" DSP piece to "binding".
Wrap ribbon around White base and DSP and tie in a bow.
Now, attach "binding" area to card with Tear n Tape.
Adhere DSP square to other side of front.
Next, die cut detailed "frame" from gold glitter piece, before cutting, also add NOEL die and cut all at once! Note: in order to cut clear through the glitter paper, be sure to run the die back and forth, and flip over and run, again, if you can. It's not necessary to cut the adhesive backing, just the glitter backing.
Carefully, peel the glitter pieces from the backing. (including the letters) Attach the "detailed frame" to the card front.
Next, cut the "insert" from Thick White and attach over the cut letter opening.
Now, add the glitter letters. Use the cut out piece as a guide.

Shining Christmas Fractured Card

I saw a version of this card featuring our gorgeous, new, Online Exclusive DSP, Shining Christmas. I'm still loving these Fractured Cards, so decided to create one with this technique DSP! I just love it! We will be doing this one in class this week, too!

Measurements:

Mossy Meadow: 1/2 sheet, scraps
Shining Christmas DSP (N) (OE): 4" x 5 1/4" (holly), 1/2" x 4" (inside)
Cherry Cobbler: 4 strips 1/4" x 4", scraps
Basic White: 2 1/2" square, 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scrap

To Make This Card:

Die cut 2" stitched square from Stylish Shapes dies from White piece. Emboss with "cross hatch" embossing folder.
Center White square to the DSP. DO NOT ADHERE TO FRONT OF CARD, YET.
Next, take one 1/4" Cherry Cobbler strip and lay from corner of square, along the cut edge of the square, and off the DSP layer.
Then, lay the next strip, butting the end to the previously laid strip, and laying this one also along cut edge and off the DSP. Repeat until all 4 layers are done.
Next, trim off the strips so that they are even with the DSP.
NOW, adhere the DSP layer to the folded Mossy Meadow card.
Die cut 2 "holly leaves" in Mossy Meadow. Attach to card, as shown.
I also cut 1 set of "holly berries" in Cherry Cobbler. Attach to card over "holly" as shown.
Die cut label from Cheerful Daisies Dies (I LOVE this shape).
Stamp "Christmas" in Mossy Meadow ink, then add the "Merry" on top, fitting it onto the label. (this IS a 2-step sentiment). Attach to card with Dimensionals.
Add White piece to the inside. Add a decorative strip inside, too.
Finish with scattered Red Festive Pearls, and larger Rhinestones from the retired Holiday embellishments.
