Peaceful Cabin Fun Fold with Stamparatus

I love this quiet Peaceful Cabin fun fold! This fold comes to you courtesy of my fellow demonstrator, Terri Gaines from Minnesota! She has cleverly used the layers of the Peaceful Cabin to create a simple, dimensional card. She also uses the Stamparatus to stamp the layers, one of my favorite tools! We will be doing this card this week in class!

Measurements:

  • Basic Gray: 1/4 sheet
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" (front layer), 4" x 10 1/2" (folded layer)
To Make This Card:

  • Run White "quarter" through Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder.  Attach to Basic Gray base.
  • Fold the 4" x 10 1/2" piece in half.  You are now going to cut "trees" through BOTH layers using the "tree" die. You will do this by lining up the "tallest tree" to the upper cut edge of this piece. Cut this, keeping the top cut piece for a template!
  • Place the small grid paper in your Stamparatus.  Place the "trees" onto one side with hinges on left side and bottom.  Ink up the trees with your Basic Gray ink, and stamp onto grid paper. You are using this to determine the placement of the trees on both layers.
  • Now, take the piece you removed and carefully place it around this stamped edge. (yes, it's double, or trim it on the fold).
  • We are going to do a version of "template" stamping using the Stamparatus.  Now, open the piece with the cut trees.  Place the back layer into the template (the inside of your card).  Ink up the stamp and stamp onto your piece!
  • Flip this piece over, and repeat, stamping the front trees.
  • Now, for the Cabin.  Take the other layer.  Line up the "chimney" with the top, cut edge and cut. Again, you will use the top, cut off piece for your "template".
  • Repeat the stamping process with the Stamparatus, this time using the "cabin". If you'd like, you can add the sentiment and stampp all at the same time!
  • Now, it's time to finish the assembly.  Place Dimensionals onto the back to the "tree" layer.  You don't want this to "sag", so be sure to use plenty! Attach this so that it is flush with the bottom edge of the Basic Gray "postcard". This helps it stand up on a desk or mantle.
  • You will repeat this process with the Dimensionals with the "cabin" piece. Avoid the edge roof area, as it will show from the wrong side.  Attach to "tree" layer the same way.
  • Finish with Wink of Stella where desired, and a few scattered rhinestones.
