Peaceful Cabin Fun Fold with Stamparatus

I love this quiet Peaceful Cabin fun fold! This fold comes to you courtesy of my fellow demonstrator, Terri Gaines from Minnesota! She has cleverly used the layers of the Peaceful Cabin to create a simple, dimensional card. She also uses the Stamparatus to stamp the layers, one of my favorite tools! We will be doing this card this week in class!

Measurements:

  • Basic Gray: 1/4 sheet
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" (front layer), 4" x 10 1/2" (folded layer)
To Make This Card:

  • Run White "quarter" through Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder.  Attach to Basic Gray base.
  • Fold the 4" x 10 1/2" piece in half.  You are now going to cut "trees" through BOTH layers using the "tree" die. You will do this by lining up the "tallest tree" to the upper cut edge of this piece. Cut this, keeping the top cut piece for a template!
  • Place the small grid paper in your Stamparatus.  Place the "trees" onto one side with hinges on left side and bottom.  Ink up the trees with your Basic Gray ink, and stamp onto grid paper. You are using this to determine the placement of the trees on both layers.
  • Now, take the piece you removed and carefully place it around this stamped edge. (yes, it's double, or trim it on the fold).
  • We are going to do a version of "template" stamping using the Stamparatus.  Now, open the piece with the cut trees.  Place the back layer into the template (the inside of your card).  Ink up the stamp and stamp onto your piece!
  • Flip this piece over, and repeat, stamping the front trees.
  • Now, for the Cabin.  Take the other layer.  Line up the "chimney" with the top, cut edge and cut. Again, you will use the top, cut off piece for your "template".
  • Repeat the stamping process with the Stamparatus, this time using the "cabin". If you'd like, you can add the sentiment and stampp all at the same time!
  • Now, it's time to finish the assembly.  Place Dimensionals onto the back to the "tree" layer.  You don't want this to "sag", so be sure to use plenty! Attach this so that it is flush with the bottom edge of the Basic Gray "postcard". This helps it stand up on a desk or mantle.
  • You will repeat this process with the Dimensionals with the "cabin" piece. Avoid the edge roof area, as it will show from the wrong side.  Attach to "tree" layer the same way.
  • Finish with Wink of Stella where desired, and a few scattered rhinestones.

Peaceful Cabin Simple Slimline + Video

Need some cards fast? I love the simplicity of this slimline card!  It DOES require some masking of the cabin, but once the mask is made, you're ready to go!  I used the gorgeous sentiment from the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set and the cute little fox to finish the card.  Oh, and don't forget the sparkle with a little Wink of Stella!

    Measurements:

    • Basic Gray: 7" x 8 1/2"
    • Basic White: 3 1/4" x 8 1/4"
    To Make This Card:

    • Score Basic Gray base at 3 1/2".  Crease well
    • Stamp the sentiment in Basic Gray.  The "y" decender should just miss the bottom, and the "s" flourish just miss the right cut edge.  The "trees" will fit better.
    • Stamp the "cabin" a little to the right of center and just above the sentiment.
    • Make a "mask" of the cabin using a Post-It Note. Cut around top and sides.
    • Place on top of stamped image. First stamp one set of trees to the right and behind the "cabin", so the tops just miss the cut edge.  Add another set, so you have 2 small trees together to the right of the cabin.
    • Now stamp to the left, so the 2 larger trees are to the left of the "cabin".  Fill in with trees as desired.
    • Now, add the "fences" as shown and a little "fox".
    • Take the "snowflakes", stamp them off and scatter around.
    • Finish with Wink of Stella.

    Peaceful Cabin Spanner Card

I wanted to use the Peaceful Cabin in next weeks' Fun Fold Card Class.  I had seen several done in a Spanner Fold.  So, I combined several that I liked, and came up with this one.  I LOVE the Peaceful Place DSP, and it pairs so nicely with the Whimy & Wonder holographic elements!

    Measurements:

    • Basic Black: 1/2 sheet, scraps
    • Basic White: 2 3/8" x 5 1/2", 3 1/2" x 5 1/2", 3 3/8" x 4 1/8" (inside)
    • Peaceful Place DSP (N): 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" (snowflakes)
    • Whimsy & Wonder DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 7/8" x 4 1/8" (Hologram stripe)
    • Silver Foil: scraps
    To Make This Card:
    • Fold Basic Black card in half.  Crease well.  Now, cut from cut edge to fold 1" on each side.
    • Adhere stripe pieces to 2 outside strips, and snowflake piece to center.
    • Stamp "cabin" in Black onto 2 3/8" x 5 1/2" strip with "chimney" just missing the top. Cut out with corresponding die. Stamp "fox".
    • Stamp "trees" in Black onto taller piece of White, with the top tree just missing the cut edge.  Cut out with corresponding die.
    • Layer the trees behind the cabin.  You should be able to line up the bottom edges.
    • Attach outside edges to the 1" outside pieces.
    • Cut out 3 of the tallest "trees" in Silver Foil and Black.  Adhere the 2 together, offsetting the silver tree behind.  Adhere behind trees where desired.
    • Attach White piece to inside, behind center piece. Then, adhere 2 stripe pieces on either side.
    • Cut out 2 smaller silver and black trees and adhere to the inside, as you did on the front.
    • Stamp sentiment in Black
    • Finish with scattered Rhinestones on front trees, and on larger snowflakes on the DSP.

    Peaceful Cabin Book Binder Card

I saw a similar version of this card using the beautiful Peaceful Cabin bundle.  My color inspiration came from the Tidings of Christmas DSP in the Annual Catalog. Card making is so much easier when you use our beautiful DSP and select coordinating cardstocks and accessories! Love this card!

    Measurements:

    • Soft Succulent (N): 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
    • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 3 3/4" square, 4" square (inside)
    • Evening Evergreen (N): 4" square
    • Tidings of Christmas DSP: 1" x 4"

    To Make This Card:

    • Fold Soft Succulent card base in half.  Score at 1 1/4" from fold, front side only.  Crease the front back well. Place adhesive under this 1 1/4" and glue front and back together.
    • Attach DSP strip to this.
    • Attach Evening Evergreen Square to other side.
    • Stamp "cabin" in Gray Granite ont one 3 3/4" square.  Cut out with corresponding die.
    • Decide where you would like to place the trees on the other square, and mark with a pencil.
    • Stamp "trees" in Evening Evergreen in designated area.
    • Lightly sponge Misty Moonlight, with Blending Brush, for "sky".  Add stamped off Misty Moonlight "snowflakes".
    • Attach "cabin" over trees. Trim bottom, if necessary.
    • Now you can add the "fence" in Gray Granite.
    • I added Wink of Stella to "roof", "snow drifts", "trees", etc.
    • Add to front of card.
    • Take piece of White Glitter Ribbon (N), fold in half, and make an overhand knot.  Add to "binding" with Mini Glue Dot.
    • Add White piece to inside. Stamp sentiment in Evening Evergreen, and little "fox" in Gray Granite.
